@@edyslavico3761any map that is being redecorated or remade from groud up is meant to show the Source 2 engine capabilities. Maps like Mirage or Dust 2 are perfect as the way they are so no need to change them
Just tried out the nade lineup crosshair, and the cool thing about it is, it's not just a fixed image that's always painted the same across your screen, it's actually properly measuring out angles, and it stays consistent across resolutions, aspect ratios and fov settings. The grid marks seem to go in 10 degree increments, and they even account for distortion due to the camera projection.
Basically it means if one person figures out a lineup, everyone will be able to use the exact same marks to repeat it, that makes things a whole lot simpler.

More often than not their long term thinking is far better than the community's though. Take for an example the weapon sound update the caused a huge outcry from the community calling valve devs clueless and incompetent. The dumbest and loudest valve critics don't understand how or why valve operates the way they do.
@@qBeYcarpet Yeah but that's because valve had created a very crappy sound engine in cs:go to begin with at that time. So they had to mess with the weapon sounds to try to "fix" the problem because of their own, well, incompetence . So yeah the complaint was valid. People often don't understand Valves operations because Valves own developer mantra is to "not say anything" about what they are working on or their goals for doing so; ironically to avoid outcry. People speculate, when you don't communicate.

As someone who rarely plays premier or competitive, most of my playtime in CSGO was just me fooling around with my friends in workshop maps. I'm really glad they added that back, and i've always felt that they needed to do that before fixing the cheating problem as it would most likely be a lot easier as well.
i can now 1v1 my friends and lose
for real, I'm quite surprised it took them this long but I'm not gonna complain, time to tell my friends about it!
Are you smoking meth? There are maybe 5-10 active servers that offer other maps and features, 90% of the server browser is bloated with bot servers

Inferno's archways looked really nice. Its a shame they are gone.
Yeah, they did look great, but they were also a giant pain for utility. I’m excited for new line-ups now that top mid has been opened up
i hated them since rework, made mid feel so cramped
you'll get used to the new map eventually ! much like how most people are well used to Dust 2's arch
it's also good for optimization i see valve made a lot of optimization on inferno which is nice
i am more annoyed about the simplification of the map. I don't mind removing some annoying things that can phisicly block you, but i loved the amount of vegetaion the map had.

a little sad about the archways in inferno, they were a cool new addition that made a space feel more unique and tighter. oh well

I understand the changes, but Inferno definitely lost a good chunk of it's beauty with some of the removals. Again, understandable but still a shame.

It doesn't surprise me that Overpass was swapped. Sure it was just redesigned but valve ran it through a major now so the redesign is proven to be functional, so they've now put it in their back pocket for future map pool changes. Remember - they are going to be changing 1 new map every major now. After next major we will see the addition of Train and probably the removal of a map like inferno or maybe even dust again, whos to say.
But yeah overpass has probably been the oldest map in the pool that gets played the least by far. Just questionable that we got Dust back in the pool, but possibly there just isn't another map ready at the moment. My biggest gripe with dust was that you cant do executes because of the old restrictive skyboxes. But now that there are no skyboxes i guess it IS time to see how it plays now.
I personally think it is also the fastest possible change. After all, most other maps either need to be ported or overworked and in some cases (i.e. Tuscan and some others) even trivial things like skin collections need to be made.

One of the sightline changes on Vertigo was they slightly shifted the box at the bottom of A ramp so there isn't an awkward double angle when you're holding from yellow

Some bugs become features. I remember that, in csgo, if you switched hands while holding a stattrak weapon the display would just show mirrored numbers. They could probably fix that in cs2, but they implemented hand switch this way as a reference.
they have to implement the shoulder switch also to the player model. it would finally remove the disadvantage from left-peeking.
Interesting, I thought they'd reflect it on the world character models
It's also not reflected in TF2 but it makes more sense there as they are established characters which are just right-handed

overpass is still in the game, it's just not active duty map pool anymore, meaning it's not available for Premier or esports anymore. you can still play it in competitive, casual and deathmatch

Mr. 3kliks, my friend was an avid Zeus enjoyer but after this update it seems like even the easiest shots are not hitting. He has shadowplayed some of them and it looks like he is aiming perfectly but then the enemy doesn't die. We believe this might be something to do with the "adjusted attack cone" mentioned in the patch notes, but no one we could find has made a video on it yet.
Always wanted to see players using left handed viewmodels actually be left handed in third person, a hot key to swap mid game was not the feature I expected but nice. I guess we'll never get left handed third person models.

About camera movement in demos: I'm pretty sure you were able to move the camera when paused(for certain you could click thru players, which I used often and got really annoyed by it when cs2 rolled about), not sure about thr camera speed, maybe thats what you meant
4:08 today my friend and I tried and every time when we would start it in lobby our game would crash. It happened like 5 times a row and then we gave up. How tf you managed to do it?

Yeah, competitive side of CS is rather picky on the map.
They're just removing useless junk that shouldn't have been there in the first place. No one plays that game to look at some tables that are blocking the movement routes for no reason.
@@Wimbold path blockade should be considered in any strategy, unless it's a bug. otherwise just play on a flat plain map with no walls or any other object.

Well, before that in the early times there were two different almost identical maps available, one with more details and one with less (called decluttered, I think) for competition. Years ago Valve made the change to standardise across the playing field.

Oh wow, they readed stuff they took out of the game, made some minor adjustments, and added a nade crosshair that the Valve janitor coded in 30 min. Such a great update after 6 months of nothing. They made a new Overpass to replace it with Dust, incredible changes. Thx Valve.
It would be cool to see character switch shoulders in game aswell.

imagine if they make this to a brand new feature that makes the characters switch guns hands to hands that everybody around can see them doing it and with shadows, others players perspective.... instead of just a gun model being mirrored

It'd be cool if you had to pick your dominant hand and were able to switch hands at a cost (animation + aim penalty) and with a visible change to your model.

The change only levels the playing field as previously people just bound switching sides in the console.

yo philip on the improved buy menu if you try to pick up a gun that you dont have line of sight of it wont work but it will make you drop your gun
It would be really funny if Valve added a killfeed icon to indicate a long distance kill, cause that would make the longest kill icon way more difficult to achieve

I was a left hand user in CSGO and since CS2 it's been so long since I last used left hand that seeing it now feels weird. I got used to the the right sided weapon 😟
playing on a potato pc can confirm the performance fixes on nuke are a godsend its very playable now, same with inferno after they removed all the clutter
reason why i love valve , is they are so innovated , just take time .
