yes, brunello is in a perfect shape at the moment. there are no bad wines, a lot of outstanding ones, a handful are only solid, but by the way, a 89 points wine can taste wonderful if you like the kind of flavour!
I started learning about wine in 2007 or so (to impress my then-gf's father!), and Gary/WLTV was my primary wine educator for years. I met him many times at the shop in Springfield and he always had time to chat on random stuff. Brandon is also great! I hope this rekindles Gary's passion for accessible wine videos! My 500+ bottle cellar has him to blame.
Awesome show. I'm a wine writer and would love your take on wine scores. You use them a lot here but it seems like the younger generations don't like them at all. How important/influential are wine scores?
Great video. ll Marroneto 2006 ($30/bottle) and 2007 ($30/bottle) both amazing bottles from ok to average vintages - 2010 Il Marroneto was ridiculous and a terrific vintage - still only $55/bottle. It is amazing wine but probably out of reach for me now at those prices...
THANKYOU for truly educational wine videos! You are definitely a cut above. I hear that the 2019 Brunello vintage is a blockbuster; can't wait to hear your view on it.
Hey Garebear, good to have you back I may just get back into wine... My wife just yelled no but I’m gonna try to get her in on it with me. Love Jaybird (wine cruise)
Another great show!! ⚡ Brandon is a great resource and always so helpful!! Absolutely LOVE Sangiovese 🍷❤!! Brunello with Little Maven's Octopus Dish.... 🔥🔥🤤 So happy to have this back!! J/w will the #QOTD return? ~ Lurker FKA NobleRot
So glad you are back in the Thunder Saddle. Question: Have English wines made any impression in the American market yet? We are drinking a lot more of them at home and they have really improved over the past 10 years
Gary! Nice to see you back old friend. I’m actually now 9 months sober so my question, are there any non alcoholic wines out there that are actually good?
Dropped a clip as a ref in my latest review my friend. FYI audio level is a bit low. Should be a couple dB higher. Sounds like it's normalized to -12 vs -6 dB. QPR is super important.
Driving through western Texas, I noticed a lot of wineries - have you ever reviewed them? Can you review some of the best in your opinion? Great show, I'm on board!
Consider drinking that Opus long before 20 years. Its luscious fruit will be long gone . Consider instead getting for her some vintage port from that year. They will be drinking wonderfully in 20 to 30 years.
I hope this catches on. In my opinion, WL TV is, to this day, the most relatable wine content the internet has ever seen. This is giving me the feels.
Just opened the 2017 Il Marroneto for date night and it does not disappoint! Decanted for approx 5 hrs before serving
Highly recommend!

Lots of rain in Tuscany in 2018 if I recall. 2018 super tuscans are still bomb

So glad you’re doing this! I’m learning a lot from WineText!

Fun seeing you back. I have a 2010 Il Marroneto sitting on my kitchen counter (wonder where I got it 🤣)...so good.
WL links to the wines?

Awesome Gary! After two weeks of pain, you finally went old-world! Enjoyed this one!! Bravo!

These are great wines... I have had many of these in the 2016 vintage
I agree I really like Brunello but a Barolos are underrated

you have to make a skin contact (orange, amber) wine tasting! also, Saperavi😅
When opening a premium aged cab, what is the proper decanting technique? How long before drinking do I need to open the bottle?

Great show, I'm on board!
fruit from the high plains, just south of Lubbock, make the best Texas wines... Good luck
Why do you choose to use the same glass for all the wines? Do you think the flavors are at all affected?
When Gary doesn't spit, it's a GOOD wine...😂
Does Gary post his reviews/recommends on the shopping page or in your texts?
The Marroneto is $224 a bottle here.😮😮😮 Still worth it? I would say no. Great tasting and sniffy sniff of course
Gary...where is the BIG GLASS ?
Lfgooo gary 💪
Brandon, Brandon!! BRANDON!!!!!
Me first :) Hi Gary 🎉
This was almost like the old show...
What is a great but affordable old world wine that has that beautiful barnyard nose that you know is going to be fantastic when it hits your mouth?
Bought an Opus One 2019 for my youngest daughter born in 2019. Hope it will be good stuff in 20-30 years. Have you ever tried an Opus One?
