I think it's fair to say that professor Marandi, on this occasion, turned HardTalk into SoftTalk. Clearly Stephen Sakar struggled and so did people whispering in his earpiece.

He will let them slip through or pass up the opportunity to press them when it's convenient. He, like the rest of the BBC, is simply the media organ of the British state.

And a question of Palestinian freedom is at the top of the agenda for the world. I wouldn't call it a win for Israel. Of course they may still complete the genocide, USA is cutting funding for humanitarian aid, so we will see...

Wowwwwww,the British reporter must have been giving clear instructions to attack and discredit the guests on the program,well, the Iranian guest was polite,articulate,knowledgable and well informed, so much so that the host of the show appeared to be arrogant,rude and shallow. This interview showed that by the virtue of being “British” or Western doesn’t protect one from being exposed as being ignorant,and biased.

Agreed. But it's not just that they're outspoken: they are able to hold up a mirror back to the West, msm, etc. that inverts all the ideology we're daily subject to. In this case, however, I thought Masadi's testimony/eloquence was particularly powerful.
A big drawback to the msm liberal drivel and their mouthpieces is that their ideological assumptions and vapid animosity prevent a more structured critique of the Iranian regime that might actually engage/chime with some Iranian regime opponents.

Current turmoil is mainly due to terrible handling of England in 19th century and immediately after the WWII. The interviewer is behaving as if the problem is between USA and Iran etc. England is actually the culprit for all the turmoil between Israel and Palestinan since then.
I really wanted to watch this interview but halfway through I had to stop because the interviewers is rude, bias, unprepared and jumps from one question to another showing the world how unprofessional he is. I cannot bring myself to listen to him one more minute.

Who can argue with a man who is on point, succinct and logical? Marandi by my experience has always been all of that and then some. I admire how he smiles when he is confronted with conflation to support the present force inflicting itself upon the M.E and spontaneously and skilfully and perfectly naturally brings the focus right back on point.

I watched this video today, a day after the ICJ had already issued its verdict on the possibility of genocide in Gaza, which sheds a very different light on this interview.
To the people criticizing the host, it is his style, fast talk, quick "hard" questions, and quick answers i dont think he is bad faith, he asked the questions most of the west want to be answered. Marandi managed it very well, i hope they have part 2.

Professor Marandi is a brilliant, calm debater who knows what he's talking about. He remains unruffled and perfectly rational during this somewhat hostile interview. His main point is the horrific suffering, the genocide, of the poor people of Gaza perpetrated by Israel backed up by the USA. He points out where the real evil lies. We can see the unspeakable war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza and its theft of Palestinian land. Its crimes in the West Bank are completely horrific and obscene. The US, Britain and Germany give unconditional support to Israel and the sadistic warmonger Netanyahu. Why is Netanyahu and his government not in jail?
Steve Sakur seems to always defend Israel. He's like a spokesman for Israel. He didn't get away with it in this interview with the brilliant Professor Mirandi. The professor is a credit to his country and he highlights Israel's cruel depravity and evil genocide of the people of Gaza.
The world now sees exactly what Israel and Netanyahu are really like. It's an apartheid colonial, warmongering state which is illegally talking Palestinian land and involved in ethnic cleansing and land grabbing. The world shouldn't tolerate it. The US has so much to answer for. It could stop Israel's crimes against Gaza if it wanted to.
A masterful performance by Prof. Marandi to the typical self-righteous Sackur, well at least he has not sunk to the level of Hartley-Brewer.
