I only managed to see the last 10 minutes and I saw the ref ignore Murphy coming in from the side twice, a forward pass ignored and blatant obstruction ignored, a Leinster player allowed to lie on the wrong side of a ruck without any attempt to roll away. That Ref seemed shit scared of their reputation...

Brilliant technical and tactical performance from the Bulls. They denied Leinster territory, beasted them in the scrum and targeted their weakness (Larmour's wing) with great success. As for Leinster, it's disturbing how far their attack has regressed since Lancaster left.

With the upmost respect this front row is 2 of the best front row youngsters South Africa has to offer and Wilco who has been outstanding. They should all be considered for the springboks. They did it against the actual Springbok bomb squad a few weeks ago outscrumming Ox Bongi and Koch who basically was the front row who won us the wc semi final. Those 3 work together great and can hold their own against any front row on current form including our Springbok front row. Great to have the depth. Rassie himself speaks highly of Steenekamp and Grobbellaar while Wilco should be in the discussions. But great for Springboks and awful for selectors having to decide between who to pick giving them headaches.

Leinster really are perennial chokers of late. For a team full of Ireland internationals who really don’t play very much domestically (Lowe for instance), and should be ultra fresh - they were shown up. Maybe the lack of week in, week out games is an issue when it comes to knockout form?
Maybe very good but not as good as the Irish fans and press think they are. Leinster aka most of Ireland team and Munster aka the rest of Ireland team both not only beaten but outmuscled. There will be someone or something to blame. I Leinster’ case it can’t be the ref. In Munsters case “ it was never a red card”. Both out - great for rugby fans who don’t have to listen to their pundits.
@@MACCA0405 it’s a strange case - they utterly blitz all ahead of them with frightening ease often during the regular season, both in URC and Europe, and then choke when it matters. Just like ireland getting beyond a QF. It’s something deep rooted mentally and they need to address it. I think the last time they played (back in March?) Leinster beat the Bulls 47-14! And likely the Test players would have been away for the six nations. Very odd.
Leinster fan, Bulls fully deserved the win, the ref was extremely generous to our antics at the ruck
Did think Lowe had a great game, easily our MotM and his boot got us out of trouble a few times.
While the three European finals and URC semis have all been extremely close and we could have conceivably won all six, I think there is a common theme. We over-rotate through the season so our first team aren’t as cohesive as they should be and just aren’t as battle-hardened come the big games in April and May.
Wish the stadium was full capacity

Worst ref
It was the Bulls versus Leinster, the referee, TMO, and ARs. The referee penalized Hanekom (1st half) and Kriel (2nd half) for legitimate steals. He let Joe McCarthy play Papier off the ball, right in front of him, and waived play on to obstruction by Leinster during that 20 phase segment in the 2nd half. Ben Whitehouse couldn't wait to alert the referee to Van Staden's off the ball tackle on Ross Byrne, yet was quiet as a church mouse when James Ryan put a late hit on Le Roux.
Horrible refereeing. They kept Leinster in this game. Unfairly so.

Yeah he never even seen byrne getting taken out without the ball right in front of him. The crying the bulls did after that went on for about 10 minutes. He also missed henshaw being held at ruck preventing him from making tackle for bulls first try. Thank God the bulls won imagine the weeping about the ref if they lost

Im not one to complain about refs. Usually if they are bad. They are bad both ways. But this ref didnt penalise Leinster for any of their dozen infringements. It was mind blowing. But as soon as the bulls just looks the wrong way they got penalised

With much respect for Leinster, the Bulls were the best team out there today. I thought Cameron Hanekom, Sergeal Pieterson, Wilco Louw, Elrich Louw were fantastic! What a defensive effort! 💪🏼 The wingers stepped up and they performed well. Go Bulls you should feel proud of that performance, sadly the scoreboard does not reflect how the Bulls dominated Leinster, with much respect! 🐂 now for the final. 🏆

Leinster fan, thought the officials made mistakes on both sides (JGP’s head injury should’ve been checked) but overall Leinster were definitely favoured, McCarthy in particular lived on the edge a few times, especially the hit in the air.
Overall the Bulls deserved to win and good luck to them - our arrogance in throwing the SA tour in April is what sent us to Pretoria and put us in this position. Think we need a few changes, chiefly the Byrne brothers and Luke McGrath can stay in South Africa for all I care.

As an SA supporter, apologies for some of the comments here from the bulls fans. They are a tough bunch of people to take when their team is winning and they are not representative of Saffas as a whole.
I didn't watch the full match, only these highlights but seemed like a close game. Tough few years for Leinster, but you have a lot of depth and talent.
Sadly the disrespect and arrogance despite winning or losing is turning many away anti South African.
Every team will win or lose, but least anyone can do is be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. This is something many South Africans who bombarded UA-cam need to learn.
