I’m just going to be real… the section where Mario sacrificed Luigi to zokket in return for the soul stone was deep. The fact that (spoilers) the snap he used to kill zokket killed him in the process… really sad. And then there’s the whole toad scene with the toad screaming “Mr. Mario!” As he fades to dust, so sad.

I like and agree with the opinion that the dialogie is almost exclusively Mario and Luigi calling for one another being better written dialogie than Dragon Age
As someone who would have put up with far, far worse from DAV just to get some goddamn closure on the overall plot, I take a special, vicious sort of pleasure hearing its dialogue get absolutely ripped to shit. I found a way to feel joy from the roughly 60% of the dialogue that wasn't awful. But that's because my brain does not function properly, and I am *mad* about that. You are providing a valuable service to me, in this way.
From a design perspective, when given a whole ocean to explore, it's best not to make it so we have to follow a straight path in a cardinal direction...
Super star saga is still my favorite entry in the franchise mainly for having the most interesting world to explore, I don't know if it is nostalgia bias but the scenarios (specially this last one) after the first game never managed to capture the same charm for me with the exception maybe of Bowser's inside story whacky premise.
5/10 is WILD. This game is so well polished and the characters are actually really neat. Extension Corp are my favourite characters, I love their personalities and the song that plays when you fight them, they give off "disney villain lackey" vibes and im all for it. This game, when not compared to the other M&L games, is an 8/10 in my eyes.
This game is incredibly boring, not gonna lie. You're stuck with only the jump attack for the first two hours of the game, all of the enemies have massive hit boxes during the enemy attack sequences, the worldbuilding is bog standard anime JRPG tier and all of the dialogue parrots Nintendo's current writing trend of making lukewarm puns all the time. The visual presentation do be pretty banging, doe
So if a shallow narrative, handholding tutorials, and poor performance is enough to get a 5/10, why the hell did they give Pokemon Sword and Shield a 9.3?

I can't believe they brought back Mario's Twin Telepathy from Yoshi's Island. That's freaking wild. I thought Mario was losing his mind until that clicked in
Not only that but you have to control him in battle with mario's button to select him to attack, unlike the other games where he has his own input. It just feels weird and annoying
3:27 see on this scene you can notice that "Luigi's missing", , this is an obvious nudge to the AMC acclaimed series breaking bad when Walter's White sidekick "Jesse" (kinda like "Luigi" is "to" Mario) goes missing in the last season before the camino is released.
mario and luigi put more emotion and charm into saying "mario? luigi? LUIGI!!!!! MARIO!!!!!!!!" than literally the entirety of the new dragon age game's script.
So the Luigi in this game is like the farmer in Balan? No wonder is was a 5/10, there was no musical number and dance when Mario found Luigi in the game!

A score is just one person's perception of how much they enjoyed something. Almost every game can be either 1/10 or 10/10 depending on your expectations.
After Palworld's obvious success, it makes sense that nintendo would cash in on the Pokemon-style game by having characters that repeat their own name.
Pocketpair Released a report about the Lawsuit recently its over three Japanese Patents Nintendo owns that grants protections over Creature catching and Riding mechanics Which in Ironic fashion was granted to Nintendo shortly after Palworlds release and Nintendo Applied for a them back in 2021 (This is also when Palword was revealed) during the production of Pokemon Legends Arceus. but there is two outcomes that can come out of this. One of them is that that Patents could become invalid due to it being so broad the other is Nintendo wins, gets $66,000 (5 million Yen) plus damages and a injunction to halt the Sale of the game until those Mechanics are removed. But its double edge sword for Pocketpair because they are going to financially beaten up after this. It's like Nintendo saw it and knew that this game was going to be successful and Rather than be like Hey we want to help you in exchange for a piece of the pie. They just started gearing up for a courtroom battle.

Nintendo used their Luigi Logic to write this game’s script
And they fucking killed it. 10/10

The game itself was not bad. Just a stupid idea. A free to play game like fornite/overwatch but not free lol.
IGN does famously have one writer, correct.
Was it the same reviewer? If not, you literally don’t have a point. People are allowed to have different preferences and tastes while working at the same company.
"5/10 game, why would Nintendo make a game for 5 year olds? I'm not 5, I'm in my 20's!"
How old were you when you played your first Mario game?
"I was 5, that one is stil my favorite."
People are so cringe I swear.
Not to mention most mario games are still enjoyable as an adult, even if they appeal more to a younger person.
Gamers cannot accept that video games are made for children. This is most apparent when talking about the Kirby games.
@@mikesmith3397 except when you hear about the kirby's lore. That is some lovecraftian end of the world bullshit.
@@mikesmith3397 Kirby games are still great though, it helps that they aren't full of annoying repetitive dialogue.
@@HerrTuring If you play Kirby giving more than a single shit about the lore then you're doing it wrong my guy.
Real Kirbypilled gamers play it because it has Kirby on it and he's cute.
Did they ever find those elven gods?
Have you ever thought that maybe the Mario Brothers are actually Pokémon and we have mixed their names up this entire time?

this game is for babies so...
@@Parallelocam you have no idea what you’re talking about
@@monicarojas4666 I've played 3-4 hours of it myself. I can pass judgment
Well the reviewer thought 30 hours is too long for a game. Honestly 40 minimum for any rpg imo.
Dunkey is joking about a reviewer who rated the game 5/10 for no real reason.
This game is no more than a 4.932/10
IGN changed there point system just for Mario? A perfect 5 stars out of 5 points. Classic!
So if a shallow narrative, handholding tutorials, and poor performance is enough to get a 5/10, why the hell did they give Pokemon Sword and Shield a 9.3?
Because they were two different people. Also, Scarlet/Violet ended up getting a 6, so that did come back to bite GameFreak in the butt.
@@mrshmuga9 Don't you know that all game journalist are secretly one guy who keeps changing hats?

From what I’ve gathered, Mario and Luigi Brotherhood is just Marko Polo with the bros
Yeah, you don't control Luigi like you used to.
It's like seasons 7 and 8 in Supernatural.
Brotherhood? Nah Mario and Luigi Revelations was better
M-M-Mario?
Luigi!
It's a thing with all Mario and Luigi games as their vocabulary is limited to their brother's name, a battle cry, and osomeritacado
why IGN deserves less: a 5/10 review
also it's explained in Yoshi's Island that the brothers have fucking telepathy so that's why Mario was having Luigi visions.
Sadly, Yoshi's Island came out 29 years ago and most gamers are younger than that. They won't know unless Nintendo restates it.
Yoshi's New Island re-enstated it, but sadly that game wasn't as good as it could've been
IGN gave God Hand and even Double Dragon Neon a 4/10. I therefore assume that Brotherhood is amazing.
The first thing that came to mind when I read your comment is that Game Informer gave God Hand a 9. But I could be making that up completely.
@@finnhaverkamp It may have, but IGN was brutal on it, and its information wasn't even accurate. It said something about how enemies come completely out of nowhere and aren't telegraphed. That is blatantly false, except for one endgame level where that's the gimmick.
IGN isn’t an individual.
@@LittleWeevil I'm aware, but the individual who reviewed God Hand was straight-up incorrect. As for Double Dragon Neon, I just don't know what that individual was thinking.
@@LittleWeevil No, but it is a website with editors and a unified vision. That God Hand reviewer was truly arse at his job, but it was the editor's job to pick up on that and reject his review.
This game wasn’t developed by in-house Nintendo, Brothership was developed by Acquire, the same team that made the Octopath Traveler series, just thought I point that out.
That would explain why it's so damn long. None of the other games in this franchise were this long.
@@beatzdyer Dream Team was definitely longer than 30 hours
@@beatzdyer I mean the other games weren't developed in-house either. Mario & Luigi had previously been handled by AlphaDream. In fact, none of the Mario RPG games are internally developed by Nintendo. SMRPG was Square's work and the Paper Mario series is from Intelligent System.
Wow, that explains everything actually
Makes sense they develop boring games overly long with the most boring writing ever
Nintendo tries so hard to capture the next generation of kids that it forgets it captured the first generation by just making good games and expecting the kids to be able to figure it out.
Baby’s first rpg is crazy when Paper Jam is literally part of the same series

Not only that but you have to control him in battle with mario's button to select him to attack, unlike the other games where he has his own input. It just feels weird and annoying
3:27 see on this scene you can notice that "Luigi's missing", , this is an obvious nudge to the AMC acclaimed series breaking bad when Walter's White sidekick "Jesse" (kinda like "Luigi" is "to" Mario) goes missing in the last season before the camino is released.

The most brilliant thing about this review imo: You are not sure if dunkey is making more fun of the game or the review.
After Palworld's obvious success, it makes sense that nintendo would cash in on the Pokemon-style game by having characters that repeat their own name.
How do u mention a game?
