Mission ist ein Film aus dem Jahr 1986, der von Roland Joffé gedreht wurde. Blei-bende Bedeutung hat der Film aufgrund der markanten Filmmusik von Ennio Mor-ricone, insbesondere die Melodie Gabriels Oboe existiert in zahlreichen Interpretati-onen und Transkriptionen. In der 2005 veröffentlichten Liste von Amerikas bester Filmmusik aller Zeiten, die das American Film Institute veröffentlichte, belegte diese Komposition den 23. Rang.

Mission is a 1986 film directed by Roland Joffé. The film is of lasting importance due to the distinctive film score by Ennio Mor-ricone; in particular, the melody Gabriel's Oboe exists in numerous interpretations and transcriptions. In the 2005 list of America's Best Film Scores of All Time published by the American Film Institute, this composition ranked 23rd.
