@@normal_side you obviously lack comprehension . Where in my comment did I justify the barbaric killing of men of the Nigerian military?
My opinion is based on the blatant disregard for the traditional institutions. He’s a king and no one is saying he can’t be wrong but in this case, he voluntarily turned himself in because he was declared wanted, for that reason, he ought not to be treated like this. If he was your father, will you say such words?? And for Wike, every sane person condemned his actions against those traditional rulers. Beside, the military always become very dangerous and bitter when it is dealing with the south. The north has killed more soldiers and no community has been razed down neither has there been any traditional or religious leader be treated this way. They’ve never declared Gumi wanted even when his several media utterances reveals he know those terrorizing the country.

The rule of law applies to every individual and every institution, including the Nigeria Army. Does the Nigeria Army now have precedence over the police with regards to internal security? What rule or law says to hold individuals indefinitely until a notary public applies for their release? If you have enough on an individual charge them to court, not indefinitely detain them, that's not the rule of law. Is the bull in a china shop approach not hampering legitimate investigations into the killings? What were the soldiers doing there in the first place? Was the mission not the domain of the police? Have any lessons been learned by the Nigeria Army? A professional army subjects itself to the rule of law. If unsure ask your trainers at the USA Army war college or Sandhurst what they would have done in the circumstance, then you will see that you're far off from international standards. As a leading institution in the country much is expected with regards to standards, not an emotional response in times of crisis.

This is just a shame to the south south and entire Nigeria. They must have humiliated him with severe unlawful torture.
What rights does the army have to arrest, investigate, trial and then release a citizen of Nigeria when the incident involves the same army? Are they now the new police.
And even asking for other wanted suspects to come forward to the army for a fair illegal trial.
Such a shame to the whole country. And the police kept their mouth shut for fear of the army. Where in this world army gets involve in civil matter?
