Can we just sit back and appreciate the contrast presented in this level? Here we have Wolverine: a battle hardened, gruff badass, who is thrust into the most ridiculous situation one could imagine. Every time I see Wolverine's portrait paired with this music to begin the level, I always picture him with his claws out while spouting taunts, ready to rumble. Suddenly a clown runs up and shoves a pie in his face, then disappears around a corner with a cackle!
This one is all Geoff. In an interview with Legacy Music Hour, Tim says this song legit made him uneasy. When the bass drum kicks in during the 3rd part, it seriously made Tim creeped out. Tim claims Geoff is the madman of the 3 brothers, even though Geoff claims to be the most normal xD
One of the most difficult works is to tell a story without words. To flow without repetition and have a memorable work of art. This is beyond impressive.
The thing about this music is it gives the level a feeling of being easy, you're like "Oh what a joke clown music..." This one was done by Geoff. In the Legacy Music Hour interview with Tim, Tim mentions that Geoff is low-key the craziest Follin brother and that this song kinda unsettles Tim xD
I think it's really cool how tim and geoff follin made the songs in this game directly resemble something from the marvel comics, Having a tone that I can't explain, but it's very good This theme perfectly conveys the feeling that you are in an apparently innocent place but that gradually becomes tense
Does anybody else find wolverine's punch sound incredibly satisfying? I withdrew my claws often so I could hear those fists beat the crap outta those jackass clowns.
Maybe it was the sound? I thought it was the most efficient way to dispatch everyone in that absolute horror gauntlet, you try to slap stuff around with your claws too much and you're gonna be super dead.
Diplamatik Juan I like it and it was useful on the jack-in-the-box clowns. Beat them with punches and you always get recovery hearts! I always thought it was cool how they had ball pits as deathtraps in this game.
700th like👍 I love this theme, getting chased in general is scary enough without a giant guy with armor running at you, weird creepy clowns with weird laughs, scary sounding saws, toys trying to kill you and other stuff….
If I remember Arcade's gimmick correctly, he would make killer robots that resembled other X-Men or their enemies inside his Murder Land or whatever it was called, so it made perfect sense that Apocalypse and Juggernaut would seem mindless and easy to beat.
@@ThunderLizardsRule At one point, didn't X-Force think it was a good idea to set up a base in one of his Murderworlds? (It was all 'fun and games' until Arcade EVICTED them!)
I just heard a remix that sampled this on DJ Cutman’s channel and it was absolutely maddening trying to figure out where that synth guitar sample came from.
While this song isn't the kind of tune I would associate Wolverine with, it does have its charm. Though the beginning part sounds like something you'd hear from a carnival, an amusement park, or a circus. But the second part of the song sounds more appropriate for Wolverine's character.
I had the Genesis version of this game as a kid although I wish I had this version. If my memory is correct, this song wasn't even in the Genesis version. In the Genesis version, Wolverine's level reused the music from Gambit's level.
@@somasaysmeep8281 makes sense, on the like the second act, would it be creepier if juggernaut was going insanely fast and run through traps like nothing? Or a some creature that slowly stalks you? , I’m drawing something, is fast or slower scary
It’s kinda crazy that despite how shit this game is every one of these songs perfectly encapsulates the character their paired up with; spideys is upbeat and triumphant with a bit of edge, wolverines is more mysterious and moody with a mix of unease, gambits is bombastic and badass, storms is mysterious and mystical sounding, and cyclops is the weakest track in the game
This level always gave me the creeps despite being the only one I and my brother came closest to beating in this hard game. The creepy distorted laughter of the clowns, the freaky backgrounds, and this music certainly wasn't helping as it went on lol. I remember my sister outright being scared of the level; as well as my Aunt just not being fond of clowns period to the point of borderline *coulrophobia.* 🥴
To perfect this piece & the levels annoyance factor. Them dag on crappy digitized clown laughs need to swapped out for Mark Hamills joker laugh. Anyone else agree?
Logan's gonna need some serious therapy after being subjected to hours of being run down by Juggernaut while being laughed at by clowns and serenaded by stupid clown music lol!

This games soundtrack was of a much higher quality than the actual game itself.
I agree. This game was way too friggin' hard. I could only get past the first Spider-man level.
+John Thomas I know right, who couldn't get passed those hard ass stages?
I liked both equally. The game was and still is hard as hell but at least your getting your money's worth.
I kinda' liked it. It really made you feel like you achieved something when you beat it.
