I wanted to take a second to tell you how much I appreciate this video. I just bought a 2023 F150 XLT and this worked perfect for my R8 Uniden. Thank you.
exactly what I needed to see. NO more wires hanging down! YT is just magic. as long as we have guys like you taking the time to post a video. thank you!!!!
Great to hear that my video helped you out. Yep. I couldn't find a lot on this when I was looking and mounting it this way really cleans a lot of wires up. Just makes for a nice clean install. The mount is very well made and would recommend it to everyone. Link is in the description. Thanks again for watching. If you are not a subscriber. Please subscribe, it helps me out. Take care.
Omg, you have no idea how much time and stress you have saved me. I was about to hard wire my V1 from the mirror down to passenger fuse box. Thank you so much.
Thanks, man, you just made my day. I've been thinking of this as I am in the process of getting a Uniden R4 to make a clean install on my own. Thanks a million 🙏🏽.
Thank you for posting this! Great information, especially your comments on the color of wires. I assume you were jamming in the connectors into the same plug that the black and green wires were in and no issues. Frustrated as you note, no 12-volt source on my '23 Ford F150. I bought a converter 120V to 12V but still have ugly wires hanging and large adaptor hanging off the 120V source. I will pursue your suggestions. Thanks!
Glad it helped! Always good to hear that my video helped you out. Thanks for letting me know. Please help me out and consider subscribing. I have several other F150 videos that you may find helpful.
2018 F150 Owners: If you don't have solid wire colors you may think that this accessory isn't working. Thanks to Mr Google, these are the colored wires you need to connect to. Red power goes into slot 1 (Blue/brown wire) in top right corner (if looking at the back of the plug where the wires are coming out of). Black ground goes into slot 4, 3 slots away from slot 1 (black/yellow wire). After figuring this out it fired right up.
Awesome. Thanks for helping out for those with older models. I hope my video at least helped get you on the right track or at least motivated to get the job done. Take care.

Awesome! This kit is super easy to install and made very well. I would recommend it to anyone. I love how clean the install is. Please help me out and subscribe. Thanks.
Thank you Joe! I appreciate the kind words. This definitely makes for a very clean install of the Radar detector. Especially for us Powerboost owners with the pro power onboard. We don't have a 12v accessory plug up front!
Check your plug that connects to the mirror. See if the wires are in the same spot. It should work. You may have to find the right wires to tap into if they are different.
I have them listed in the description for the various brands of detectors. The one I used for the Uniden is here. Uniden DFR Mount - www.amazon.com/dp/B0788XRBTV?tag=coxyoutube-20
Hey Mitch, dumb question, but I get power to the detector when the mirror isn’t plugged in but as soon as the mirror gets plugged I loose the detector, F150 hybrid with an R7
sounds like you need to plug the wire from the detector in a bit further, its not making contact when the mirror connects. Did you get it figured out? If so, what was it? Thanks.
Hey guys I have a 2015 ford xlt but has six cable none are green or black anyone have info on witch would be ground and positive? I’ve looked for the diagram and ford manual but haven’t found it either. Thanks
I installed the same on my 2023 f150. But it doesn't have enough power... only puts out 7-7.5 volts. Then the detector turns off.. Any ideas how to fix this ?

Mine's continuing to do a laser detection I'm guessing it's because of all the cameras and sensors is yours doing this?.
No. Not at all. I get very few false alerts on this model. What brand/model are you using?

Which adapter did you use?

Are you sure you have it hooked up to the right pins? I have a dash cam and the radar detector all running from the power that goes to the mirror.
@@mitchcox I'm using the red and black pins. I'm gonna try the green instead of the red
@@sophia1293 Were you able to resolve this? I have a 2023 F150 and I'm considering this accy.
