My friends and I went to the teen club on the Langley Air Force Base! ( Hampton Virginia) We were only 13! A band named "Joshua" played this! They played it very well...ya just had to dance! LOL! I am 61 now, and I remember it like it was yesterday... But I can't remember what I went in the kitchen for! 😲🤣🤣🤣
Yes, unfortunately koss left us too soon. Shame on the people who hurt him. As far as I'm concerned koss is the greatest guitarists ever regardless that he passed at 25 . I take koss over anyone.
Kossoff has been remembered as one of the greatest rock guitarist's EVER Joe bonamassa Eric Clapton warren Haynes have all praised him at one time or another and bonamassa got his vibrato technique from kossoff
These guys were amazing, The Voice, the drums, the ability to play the guitar, you could see it in the beginning, it is what rock eventually rolled into, everybody emulated Styles like this but as far as vocals are concerned Paul Rodgers probably one of the best of all time have any singers all his soul was incredible more importantly I would like to know who the hundred and twenty seven people or Jack wagons are that would vote thumbs down on this song or the video they're watching history and it's an incredible song idiots!!!
Chris England Who would have guessed Paul would still be rockin at his age now? My 43 year old son took his wife to see him in concert last year, said he's still awesome! Rock on Chris England ,we're just babies! lol! Take care,Donna aka/msstevie51 ♥
msstevie1951 He's still going? Bloomin great !! I'm a Stones fan too and Jagger is very nearly as good as he ever was.. I hope they carry on even if they have to be helped onto stage with stage hands and zimmer frames, lol. You take care too Donna, Geoff xx.
The pre-Bad Company Raw Sound. Bad Company with Paul Rogers captured the heart of real Rock and Roll! Like the old bluesie sounds of Canned Heat these guys never got REAL big like Zeppelin or Stones but they held their niche and will continue to hold it for any true Rockers. I hope the kids of today hear and love this stuff. What memories...
We will never know what Paul Kossoff had left in him had he lived another 20+ years. Even dying so young he leaves a legacy that will keep his memory alive forever in "Rock and Roll Heaven"...
Timeless classic, Paul Kossoff was the undisputed king! Andy Fraser’s bass playing here and for all of Free’s tracks is unsurpassed. Simon Kirke really kept the band tight with his drumming (he continued to do this with Bad Co), very underrated! Paul Rodgers, what a vocalist (even today approaching 69 years young), surely the greatest of all time, for the longevity. If this clip is from 1969, then Rodgers & Kirke were 19, Kossoff 18 & Fraser 17. That is mind blowing!! So young and so talented, unbelievable!!!
First heard this at my uncles house in Aboyne near Aberdeen when it first came out on the album fill your head with rock. Played it all holiday with my cousin John Woodcock in their lovely house in Scotland. It always hits a note as my cousin was killed on the Piper Alpha in that tragic accident and I never saw him again after that, how sad is that? RIP John!
Great example of just how good bands really were in those days. Even with the poor quality video and audio, this still rocks miles ahead of most of the shit that is around these days
One of the greatest all-time rock 'n roll classics. Featuring the genius of the late Paul Kossoff, the wonderful vocal dynamics of Paul Rogers and the marvellous rythym section comprising the amazing bass virtuosity of Andy Frazer and the rock solid under-stated drumming of Simon Kirke. The most under-rated rock band of all-time. RIP Koss, the music never dies!
Thank you for sharing. Isn't hard to understand why Paul Rodgers is called 'the voice'. One difference with music now, is that technology can make 'almost anyone' sound good......then it was the raw talent that was evident. This is why Paul sounds as good as ever today. He is one of a kind!
I got someday to down load the whole lot onto cd for me tons off sobs 68 free 69 fire and water 70 highway 71 free at last 72 and heartbreaker 73 and the free live album from Sunderland and Croydon 71 👍
I had the privilege to see Free three times... can still recall the chills and excitement when they came on stage...the first time was at a tiny venue for only around 3-400 people and they had to come through the crowd to get on stage it was so smal! Unthinkable now, it was all so raw and real...Paul Rodgers, I salute you sir...one of THE best voices of all time and he's still got it....
What a phenomenal band they were, I was 15 in 1969 and loved them with a passion {of course I still do, it is just as fresh today} It was years later when we all understood how lucky to be the right age for the music of the 70's, and what a treasure chest to dip into and pass on to our grandchildren. Personally I cant wait to be in the old people home, my lovely mother is in one now and they all love to sing songs from their youth, can you even begin imagine how cool it is going to be for us lol. I think I will request "the lemon song" for my first sing song, I cant do Rogers NOW so no chance when I'm 80. I was a huge "Family" fan also but If I try to sing like Rodger Chapman at 80 I will blow out a lot of hearing aids {we will ALL have them, time to pay the piper for all that we put our ears through } and I doubt I would survive to the end of the song, what a wonderful way to go though
Damn! It is now the sixth and I've missed it! I am 50 yrs young and sick of folk 65 plus telling me how great Free were back in the 70's! I love the way Koss FEELS every note he plays and just wish I could have been there. Please don't tell me you are one of those 65 and countings who saw Free at there peak!
This is absolutely the best live version I have heard by FREE. I have played this song for years in small clubs to large arena's. There was nothing better than hitting the "A" power chord to start the song and watch everyone immediately freeze until they heard the second chord. Because they knew what was coming next and that's when the show(party) really started. The song carries with it the souls of these four musicians. Those who try to mimic it (as I did), should learn each of their stories and struggles in life and Andy's and Paul's in death. Then remember to honor them every time you hit that power chord "A.,
I am 52, I remember this song so well in High School in the 70s. This, along with Don't Fear the Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult), has to go down as the top 2 rock songs of all-time. It's not just words, or riff, or Rogers voice, or any one thing, taken apart from the rest. It's about the whole song together. It blows you away. It emanates a power, an energy, that electrifies people. It has stood the test of time. It soars.
I've discussed this subject with many of my friends that play and sing. They ALL agree with me, he is the greatest R&R, Blues Vocalist that ever lived ! The band still plays in Standard "E" tuning unlike some that are now in "D"
There is a very special kind of raw magic being exercised here. Free at their absolute peak. Kossoff extracting sounds from a Les Paul that no other guitarist could emulate. Stiil sends thrills down the spine over 50 years on
The late Free guitarist Paul Kossoff was one of the best. He died at 25 of drug-related heart issues and no doubt had many albums left in him. "All Right Now" remains a rock masterpiece. Its economical composition and amazing bass hook reminds me of "Another One Bites The Dust."
+Evan Thompson Yessir, its a damn shame that we lost paul kossoff that early an age of 25, those opiates can be a big bitch. but thanks to mr kossoff for your years of work. RIP brother
Dave Jenkins Somehow, bands like Free prospered minus social media that might have overexposed them or pushed them to crank out material faster and tour more. They had a simple foundation that was gritty and unpretentious, much like very early Led Zeppelin or The Spencer Davis Group. Each performance was a one of a kind versus being over produced.
I remember watching them on Top of the Pops in 1970. I was lucky enough as a young girl to be drenched in this musical revolution. Wish I'd been a few years older. But I remember thinking that they had what every other band was reaching for. They had "IT" in spades. For me they're the best. And they were teenagers for God sake.
I can not argue there. I listened to Free Live this morning and it is so musical and soulful. These guys had soul. And the talent to back it up. Kossoff and Ralphs (and Page of course) were the reason as a 16 year old I bought my 72 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. It is still my pride and joy. Kossoff and Ralphs taught me there was a time to play fast and more importantly a time for slow, heartfelt bends. Under-rated indeed. But the mighty ship Zep? Forever the kings
Kossoff was only 19 years old in this video. Today, we think of 19 year old's as "children" but when this vid was shot 19 was clearly a "man". When I was in my late 20's I was an executive who owned a house and done college and military duty. My children were in middle school before I was in early 30's. Today we think of 30 year old's almost as though they are still children. Just an observation of Life, but what happened?
In 68 when they started frazier was only 15 I think Steve winwood was only young as well when he was with Spencer Davis this to me is the greatest single ever made
At the age of 24 I entered the 1980s, I had a wife, a house and looking forward to our first child to be born in the May. In every way I was very much a man. We still send money to our youngest child; he is forty next year, wtf happened to the West?
First heard this song on the, "Kenny Everett Video Show" from the BBC here in the States. Loved the dancers then, I laugh now. However, the song still remains the same, IT'S BRILLIANT!
Great era, real musicians , play their own instruments, write their own songs and no computer assistance to make them sound better. Today's shit can not call themselves musicians.
one of the best songs Rogers did even after he formed Bad Company... well lets just say all the songs he did were awesome and nobody else could do it the same...
Great tune just love it brings back the good memories of when it was at the top of the charts,,, they dont make em like this today enjoy thanks for sharing,,
This was filmed in London on 10th Oct.1970 to be used as a Promo. They also performed the Stealer as a promo for their new single. The band played All Right Now live 3 times for the cameras and the three takes were edited into 1 for the promo as included on the DVD Free Forever which I highly recommend.
Sheldon Goldstein thanks for details! I finally found this outstanding recording on deluxe version of Fire and Water, listed as Studio Mix 1. Love both Pauls and Andy and Simon forever
Debbie Webber We had it made in 70s80s in Buffalo,NY 10 years of concerts 4 every summer at Bills stadium, The Rolling Stones liked us they played here 6 times. Yes that Buffalo that gets 10-12 feet of snow almost every winter from Lake Erie
We were very lucky to live to see Paul Roger's,Stones, Beatles ALL THE GREAT ROCK BANDS. I make sure my 23, 16 & 11 yr old grandchildren KNOW THESE BANDS. ask my 16 yr old grandson if he knows the song Stairway to Heaven. YES, HE DID AND LIKE IT. WHEW!! Now working on 11 yr old. Lol
this clip. is one of the Best to be seen.It represents the sentiments and conflict of the baby boomers at this moment of history. I give it 10, the beat is great. and you can dance to it. Its a GO

OOOOOOOoooooo wow - thanks man - there the first time around - damn - God bless Paul Kossoff - went to way before his time - a true guitar legend Respect
A soulfulness that was so different back in the day... what is left.. Paul and Simone ... what amazes me is that these two hold outs are not the stupid rich musicians I thought they would be after such long illustrious careers in rock. Paul is worth $14m and Simone is worth$1m... how the hell does this happen to such paragons of early rock? these guys are priceless!
... free was so underground ... but was one of my favs ... saw them live with traffic in tampa ... they were the opening band .... WHAT A SHOW!!!!! ... love this vid tysvm for posting!!!
"All Right Now" is a rock single by the English rock band Free. The song, released in mid-1970, hit #2 on the UK singles chart and #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. One of the engineers during the recordings of "All Right Now" was Roy Thomas Baker, who would later become Queen's producer (he mixed "Killer Queen", "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Don't Stop Me Now" among others).
Rock on!!!! Writing some great rock songs and honouring classic rocks just like this one with legendary riffs and sublime lead vocals. Awesome Free! Can't beat this.
Underrated rodgers blows everbody out the water and his sidekicks left and right andy and mr kossoff cant go wrong and and the pounding drummer simon at the back wat can go wrong nothing did and the rest is history r I p paul and andy😢
Every time I hear / play this song I think of the girls I met in those days that fit this song. You remember those days? I use to swear that I'd die if I didn't get laid on a saterday night. Now days I just might if I do!
And very true! AIDS took the fun out of free pussy.. Took a long time for guys to get it that AIDS didn't mean Another Iowan Discovered Sex... Yep I'm from Nebraska.. :)
man this song always kicked butt!! i used to go to a place in ohio called the draft house and the group there was called the COUNTEROINTES, and they did this song really good! Thanks for sharing the love!
One of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time.
yesssssssssssss
He still sounds that good.
Kick ass Koss guitar drives that jam
I might be biased but I think this is the best rock song ever it's got the lot
Had Paul Kossoff lived he'd be amongst the best rock guitarists ever. What a talent.
Damned Straight...
HE IS...Legend

And to think that Paul Rodgers STILL sings like that today!! A true statement of a great vocalist!
👍🏻💁🏻♀️❤️😍✌️
Rodgers voice held up over the years but no his lost the rawness the grittyness the ballsyness he had here
@@donjohn2695 Yes of course, that's age. But having seen and known rockers who have seriously lost their vocals, his is the least of the changes.

Lol, me too.. it was just yesterday wasn't it. Ohhh Joanna and Susan where are you now??? Haha.
Chris England Who would have guessed Paul would still be rockin at his age now? My 43 year old son took his wife to see him in concert last year, said he's still awesome! Rock on Chris England ,we're just babies! lol! Take care,Donna aka/msstevie51 ♥

I still Love it ; I'm 81.
Listend to these guys since the start Was 14 and love it still to this day at 60 !!!!
@mags jay They toured with Wishbone Ash???
Even though I'm only 20 years old, I think this stuff (and even some stuff up to the 90's) is better than today's crap.

Paul Rodgers is one of the most underrated front men in rock history.
Absolutely, positively, the most underrated singer in the history of the world!
I totally agree ; kind greetings from France !
Along with bluesy white singer David Coverdale...
not by me he’s not 😁
May be underrated, but so so so very very very good. A Rock God indeed
I absolutely love how Kossoff fretted his chords. He is unusual and not mainstream with how he played them. So cool.
Oh, the memories. We were blessed to be alive in the greatest era of music history. Thank you for sharing.
Timeless classic, Paul Kossoff was the undisputed king!
Andy Fraser’s bass playing here and for all of Free’s tracks is unsurpassed. Simon Kirke really kept the band tight with his drumming (he continued to do this with Bad Co), very underrated!

I think Frazier was only 15 in 19 68
Absolutely love this song. I was turned on to it on, "Kenny Everrett" (British television) back in the early 80's. Wish they were still here!

Great example of why I love UA-cam , thanks for posting
This is awesome. This is one of the first 45s I ever bought. This band was ahead of their time.
The most melodic and intense lead guitar lines. . . Screams raw power. . .

What a video!!
The best live band of their generation with the greatest vocalist and blues guitarist I've ever seen.
They still thrill me!!
Raw rock music!! Doesn't get any better then this.
Paul Rodgers’s voice is simply incredible. He will not be listed, but he has one of the top 10 voices in “classic rock.”
Thank you for sharing. Isn't hard to understand why Paul Rodgers is called 'the voice'. One difference with music now, is that technology can make 'almost anyone' sound good......then it was the raw talent that was evident. This is why Paul sounds as good as ever today. He is one of a kind!

One of the best mixes between vocals and instruments I've heard of this song - perfectly balanced, great song, great band!
So beautiful! One of the most soulful voices on the planet. Free was one of the bands that made me love rock.
RIP Paul Kossof, gone but NEVER forgotten.

Paul Kossoff and Andy Frazer. The best ever
Fantastic video

That 20 second solo blows away todays 5 minute songs!!!!!
Oh Yes ! this is English blues/rock at its best, thank you for the posting.
Still loving Paul and I’ve had the great luck to see him twice now! It’s alright now!
The late Free guitarist Paul Kossoff was one of the best. He died at 25 of drug-related heart issues and no doubt had many albums left in him. "All Right Now" remains a rock masterpiece. Its economical composition and amazing bass hook reminds me of "Another One Bites The Dust."

Wow....rare footage of such a classic song in its prime....makes my day
It is amazing how many people of the musician type this song influenced.
I can not argue there.
I listened to Free Live this morning and it is so musical and soulful. These guys had soul. And the talent to back it up. Hot damn best group ever in my books, listen to all their songs and man memories start to pour in from the late 60s up thru 70s.
Sooooo true!
They knew sometimes simplicity is best and they nailed it

one of the best songs Rogers did even after he formed Bad Company... well lets just say all the songs he did were awesome and nobody else could do it the same...
And god said rest...
I think it was frazier that wrote all right now and my brother Jake and the stealer 3 crackers
Great tune just love it brings back the good memories of when it was at the top of the charts,,, they dont make em like this today enjoy thanks for sharing,,
I have always stated that Paul Rodgers has one of the best and distinctive voices in Rock.
agree completely
Good point about Andy Fraser; he is a very underappreciated bassist. If you doubt it, listen to his playing on 'Mr Big' on the Free 'Live 1970' album.
Love Paul Rodgers...follow ALL of his releases!
This is it . Uhhhuhhhhh! 💕Love this song. .love this original/version!😉

Paul Rogers can sing very well because he knows how to sing , from deep down and his voice will never change
best classic rock with a strong element of rock n' roll era!

Od čuvenog festivala na ostrvu Vajt mega popularna kompozicija.
OOOOOOOoooooo wow - thanks man - there the first time around - damn - God bless Paul Kossoff - went to way before his time - a true guitar legend
Respect
Eat your heart out Eric! Rock on Paul

Yeah, this came out in Sept.1970 I think. Another great version. Thanks to you tube, I'm seeing everything I missed back then
RIP Andy Fraser
Still love this song 🎵....many years later!!
Real talent back then, sometimes fueled by drugs and alcohol, but REAL talent nonetheless. What can you say? It was almost expected in those times.
