I'm gonna use this time to just state that being a referee at any level is a really tough job. Making right calls, and doing everything else all the time is almost impossible. The guy is doing his job, making the call he saw and gets hit for it. That is just pathetic and nasty.
It is a tough job and very few can do it right and it's wishful thinking that they can keep their personal feelings out of it. Just because you don't like a team doesn't mean you cheat them with bad calls.
I kept the score one year for a few high school football games. I was considered an official and had to wear the stripes. My first game, one of the other officials told me to take off the stripes right after the game and leave right away, because officials tend to catch a lot of crap. I think he said it was worse coming from the fans than the players. Not the most appreciated job.

That was my first thought, test that kid when he gets arrested.
Every article should list him as 'former' high-school football, wrestling, and soccer star cause this kid did the worst thing possible: fucked up spectacularly while being recorded.
Apparently Duron’s statement said-
“I’d like to say that I’m sorry for what happened to my coaches, my family and to the UIL,”
It's worth noting, that it did not say-
“I’d like to say that I’m sorry for WHAT I DID to my coaches, my family and to the UIL,”
And no apology to the referee he blindsided who went to the hospital.
If this is you, the player who hit the ref, sad. You could have seriously hurt the individual. Apologizing fixes nothing. You have an anger issue that will stay with you and probably mean you will be in trouble as an adult and be spending time in prison unless you get your act together. Frankly this is one reason among many I don' t watch football. Too many thugs.
Your not the guy after reading your post, I hope my comments get to the punk.
He probably doesn't know how to say I'm sorry or have a sincere apology. His emotions & attitude are out of control & it has been said it wasn't his first such behavior. Needed someone to "kick his butt" when he was younger to set him straight.
I love your channel
It's cool how you can see inmates in the making during youth.
This is straight-up criminal assault. The police should not have merely escorted him from the stadium. They should have escorted him to a jail cell. I have a feeling the kid's going to get to know the inside of a jail cell in his future.
Going by other comments on this, he was arrested two years later on drug trafficking charges.
If I did something like that when I was in high school they wouldnt have had to get the cop my dad would have beat my ass so bad. But that was a different time.
Dad? What dad? Its 2020 America doesn't do dads.
My dad and most dads I knew growing up would too. Different & better times then. Sounds as if your dad raised you to be respective. My parents never found out about the paddling I got in HS, so I'll never know how dad would've reacted, but imagine at 14 he wouldn't have objected as my being too old & maybe tan my butt, and don't mean seat of pants, again at home. Did your dad ever "tan your ass" in HS years?
Yeah, back then the guy would be thrown in jail and not given bail hardly. Or put in lockup until Monday morning no bail.
@@easyenetwork2023 : Jail without immediate bail would've given him time to think and realize the situation & his consequences. He obviously needed anger management & discipline at a younger age.

Fun Fact: The player who allegedly assaulted the referee in this incident was arrested by the Edinburg P.D. in March of 2022 after being found asleep in his vehicle on a roadway. According to police the odor of marijuana in the vehicle lead to search where plastic bags containing 6 grams of cocaine were discovered. He was then charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, which is a second-degree felony in Texas carrying a potential prison sentence of 5-99 years and a fine of up to $10,000. The assault charge for the football incident was still ongoing at the time of his arrest.

This is the result of never having been told "no" or had his head punched in when he disrespected someone.
