The female announcer is the absolute worst. Drives me nuts in all of the distance videos. Nobody wants to hear her recite stats and facts and stories about other races. Watch the damn race you're commentating on. I wish they could ger Kara Goucher for these.
@@Jamochashakenbake I agree the lady especially is horrible but you do know indoors or outdoors the altitude is a factor. Just don’t need to say it 73 times.
And to follow up with this, it’s also so important because (at least from my experience) the indoor 5k is way harder than the outdoor 5k so I can imagine that altitude plus indoor track running was crazy hard on some of those athletes
I agree they didn't seem to fare well! But Tennessee isn't at altitude, right? Plus the Stanford boys have altitude tents so the chance to do well was still there :)
Had Billy mills not won the gold medal 🏅 in 1964..!.he'd been a forgotten sole..but he won and will always remain an American running hero..to say the least..for some strange occurrence he accomplished the unfathomable!!. Worth "CRYING" FOR...I'm confident he has given back to the GENERATIONS..THANK YOU BILLY
Casey doesn't get the credit he deserves. He is definitely one of the top ten runners in the country today. It just seems commentators never talk about him as much as they do with others.
He's 24 years old, that's pretty old for being in college, and compare it to the other runners who are both younger, have faster times, and better achievements. He's been in college for 7 years now and this is his highest placement, that's not very impressive to me. There's nothing wrong with it, but I personally think it's kind of cheesy for NCAA athletes to do that. Casey will get the credit he deserves when he shows it.
Well done Jacobs!!! I noticed one of the lapped runners using common sense by running in the outer (second) lane towards the finish line so they wouldn't interfere with the progression of the leading runners of the race. Why can't the NCAA utilize common sense and implement a simple rule for lapped runners to run in the second lane? It's not rocket science were dealing with here. Geesh.
She needs, the announcer to halt speaking and give the damn splits! My best @ altitude in Colorado was a 14:01.84. A 13:37.59 is hauling and flying indeed.
I guess when the course is flat and you are just seeing a bunch of guys run around for several laps, there was nothing else for the commentators to talk about. 😂😂 but you are correct, it was super annoying!
Man… cut her some slack. Also, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that most of commentary on sports broadcasts are obviously improved, due to what’s happening in the race live. I guess we’re all not allowed to occasionally mispronounce a word. Maybe practice being a more perceptive person.
@@baumsquad222 so, Covid was one year. You can redshirt, redo a season due to injury. I believe you get four years of eligibility. I thought your comment was about them still being in college. I didn't see where you said still competing. If you enter college at age 18 you typically will be done by age 22 if you have all the required credits. If your short credits you be a bit older. Then if you go to grad school it is longer or med school. Typically by then you have used up eligibility.
WHO THE HELL IS NORTERN ARIZONA !!!..the COACH must be from FINLAND... maybe LASSE VIREN..they got some runners..shame on you ..SEC..ACC..PAC 12 ..BIG10/12 .. THIS puts them out.. congratulations 👏👏👏👏
Drew Bosley’s stache weighed him down to 3rd
The announcers made it through the whole race without mentioning a lap split once...
In partial defence of them, it wasnt like they were racing for a fast time. I actually enjoyed the announcers but to each their own

I'd prefer to just read the clock tbh

@@Jamochashakenbake so altitude doesn't matter when your indoors? lmao nice physics
Thank God for Mute!
I guess the altitude got to the Stanford runners, but Dylan Jacobs looked effortless, I wouldn't be surprised to see him win in the 3k too!

Great race by Dylan and Casey. Both had great kicks at the end. Looking forward to their match up in the 3K.
Love watching Bosley run, Jacobs has some pretty relaxed form tho doesn’t even look like he’s trying
It's ALL about the RUNNING FORM..the techniques.. and breathing coordination..yo can see him at work
By far Jacobs the most relaxed beautiful form it reminds me El G form.

Good to see Clinger up there again
Amazing to win at altitude like that. Respect
so smoooooooooooooooooooooooooooth! Wish I could run like that. So beautiful to watch!
Let’s go Wolfe
gutsy race from Bosley and Young but Jacobs is in monster fitness. Young will have his day.
Indeed. The question is which Young…
"Live and train at similar altitude to here" LOL NO, NOT EVEN CLOSE
Humidity is no cake walk nor high altitude...talk to the Colorado runners..mean
7000 is way harder to run at than 4500

RAD to see a NON-'altitude' guy win...sometimes it's all about attitude ;-)
I would've loved to see the other finishes
Plus they did mention the fast split in the women's DMR because it was so impressive. A tepid lap split doesn't add to the commentary

It's a 5km race - so to keep mentioning miles I find rather frustrating
Love the word altitude
26 final lap😮
Too much color commentary. Moves being made are talked over. I just turn the sound off.

Maybe practice saying deoxygenated before trying it out the first time on TV

All these guys/girls that are 23+ and still in college.
Grad school does that when the major demands more.
@@donshields2379 it’s more of the COVID years than grad school at this point. Jacobs won Footlocker in 2017 and he’s still competing as a collegiate.
