How do you like the Z71? I am not off roader by any means but do like the Z71. I wouldn’t even worry about the off road package just like the casual but aggressive looks of the Z71….to the point that if I could find that it is a true plug and play replacement I would swap my overly chromey Premier Grille with a Z71 front grille. That or a slightly less chromey LT or RST grille.
Love it but it needs a lockable from and rear diff and all the options you can get on a high country like cooled seats, heads up display, camera rear view mirror and a 3.0 Duramax
Really 0w on a truck?! For best results use a synthetic filter. Napa platinum or Purolator boss. M1-212a is good too. FILL THE NEW FILTER WITH OIL BEFORE YOU SCREW ON!!!
Didn't see it recorded but please tell me you oiled the gasket on that new filter before you installed it. Also, the new filter should have come with directions to spin it an additional amount after the gasket makes contact with the housing surface (usually 3/4 or a full turn). That's what should have been done and it doesn't matter how you get there - by hand or with a wrench. The only things that matter are a) it doesn't leak (always check after you start it up) and b) it's not so tight it will be a problem when it is removed.
Great how to video, will help me greatly, but make sure you have an AC Delco oil filter on it if you ever have any issues and have to take it to the dealer, as after market oil filters will void any warranty.
Thanks for the advice. I was about to put on Mobil 1 filter. By the way, in my area, the dealer does give option use Mobil 1 Oil. You think they still put on AC Delco filter ?
@@radiohead2206 Yes, per GM’s contract they have to use an AC Delco filter. As long as the oil weight used is what’s stated per your vehicle, oil brand doesn’t matter. Example: 5w-20 factory, but in the north’s harsh winters I can go down to 0w-20 and it doesn’t effect the warranty. They’re more worried about filter particulates breaking down and being recirculated into the motor causing damage.
Own my 2022 suburban how often should the only change occur and can you use Lucas as well? As I use it on my supercharged Nissan maxima and Silvia thanks
I am asking because it used to be a no brainer but current manufacturing methods may make them not as critical. What is your take or what is the current guidance about …”Break in oil changes”? I am coming up on 1K miles about the time I would be doing one anyway. Any thoughts? Yes I have the dealer program for 12 free oil changes over the life of the vehicle….life of the loan anyway…
Great video. Very similar set up with the oil pan and filter for my 2019 Suburban LT
I am getting ready to do mine for the first time. I got 2 free oil change when new I already used them up. Thank you for the video
Ahh he still is around! Great videos as always !
Thank you I’m getting ready to do mine on my AT4 Yukon
I just got the same suburban but 2023 and the exhaust is still crunched up in that same spot 😂
Got the part number on the oil filter?
Did you have problems with the engine? I heard there were lots of engine failures due to lifter failure.
I had a lifter changed when I got my 2023 z71
Went to Tahoe in your Tahoe?…..almost as good as one of my pilots filling up his Honda Pilot at…..wait for it…….Pilot!!

Went back to a factory belt from dealer and the sound went away. Aftermarket belt was the problem.

I always lube it, on or off camera, and I always tighten with a filter wrench usually 2 turns or close to it after contact.
