I love your content because in this age of commercialism, you're inspiring us to detach from worldly things that sometimes complicates life. Thank you for reminding us to just live life simply and meaningfully.
Having a UA-cam business and additional income from rent is not exactly uncomplicated or anti-commercialism. Minimalism with wealth is freedom, minimalism because you can't afford anything is not.
Your videos really help those people who are willing to put up the discipline, mindset and motivation for a change of lifestyle and I'm one of those. May you and your husband be blessed more🙏

I’ll definitely carry your advice with me- it’s a great reminder that I have the freedom to design my own life, rather than following the 9-5 structure. References to your husbands income are missing the entire point of the video!! Thanks so much for sharing.
I agree… There are plenty of couples with two incomes and that doesn’t mean they are living in a manner similar to this. Sometimes two incomes actually causes some to increase debt or feel they need to. I appreciate her sharing things she did not have to share, to help enlighten some of us that there are many definitions and roads to “success”.
Some people need to stop focusing on how fortunately she started out, or how "well" she married. First off she is someone who genuienly appreciates life, and is making the simplest out of it instead of being spoiled. This video does not teach you how to get to where she is, but simply sharing her journey and how she took on her blessing or tackled her struggles. Sure she is a very, very lucky woman but if you were given the same, would you be humble and grateful like her or be all bling bling and cha ching? It takes the person for this lifestyle, not the circumstances
I'm personally currently getting income from a day job (programming), music production and cryptocurrency investments. I live a very minimal life. I enjoy just growing vegetables and flowers with my wife, making music which has become moderately successful. While I don't hate my day job, my goal is to gradually be able to do less and less of it. If I ever get greater financial success, I'll increase my charity output. In the end, one of the great sources of happiness is being able to help others as cheesy as it sounds.
@@fee3818 yup it is the reality. Don’t listen to all the garbage from motivated speakers ‘work smarter, not harder’. When I heard that, it drove me nut 🥜. You cannot do less when you make more money. Do you think as rich as Bill Gate, does he work less or more?

Thank you for being so transparent about how you live your life. I think sometimes bloggers and "influencers" make it look so simple while not revealing the actual steps they took, sacrifices made and privileges. You've made a beautiful life for yourself, and I am really happy for you. :)
Thanks so much for being transparent about your financial life. In one of your videos, when you mentioned you have rental income, I automatically assumed you married into money and hence why you can afford to live your lifestyle. Never in my wildest imagination would I have assumed you are house hacking like me. You have no idea how inspiring this video is to me. I have a 20 year old wonderful young man who’s undecided on life but a hard worker. We have a tenant in the basement of a townhouse to help with a mortgage overseas. After watching this video, either my son or I is moving out in a new property and continue house hacking. I want my son to be financially independent by time he’s 30 like you. Be blessed.
This is very inspiring. I've been thinking about leaving my 60 hour week security job, because it doesn't make me happy. I find it takes up a lot of my time, and energy.
Hi from Japan! I totally thought you're a Japanese American born and raised in Hawaii 🌈 Your channel caught my eyes because I used to live in Hawaii and I really like the name of your channel, Malama (care for) life! My channel is so small and I'm hoping that it'll grow and keep expressing myself through videos 😃 Thank you for sharing your story with us 🙂🇯🇵
I like this video so much, Malama. Thanks for your sharing. I like your transparency, frankness, and your "Boring lifestyle". I am looking forward to seeing your next video.
The first part, being able to buy your own property in your mid 20s seems so, so far from my reality and it's a huge roadblock though... after finishing university I could land my first real job (which wasn't that great to be honest) around age 28, and then 10 years after that, I am still paying my student loan and renting the place we live in. Not that I am hating on the video, but both my wife and I come from backgrounds where making enough money to even get your own place is a feat in itself, and it demands working a crazy amount of hours D:
Yah......some people have really good luck / timing while other's have it no luck or timing on their side. As long as are alive and have our health, with a steady paying job......life is good my friend....Godspeed.
You and your husband clearly worked very hard to get to where you are now. I'm so happy for the both of you and I know your parents are, too! Well, it's your choice and your life. You prefer to rent and live sharing your house with other people getting passive income, I do prefer to have a 9-5, own a house without having to share and see strangers on the ground floor and have a side hustle. Everyone is free to make their choices. ;)
Why is it always it is your choice and your life 😤 talking about the obvious. We are not in Cuba etc... where choices are not as free. Sounded more like a an excuse not to do anything if you asked me. I would say it is the choice that one need to take if you want to have the similar results as she (results may varies lol). Most people here will not take the leap of faith and do it. I am pretty sure people in this channel heard at least two other successful stories similar to her. But no one will do a thing in the next 365 days.
I feel like we are always given this career pathway of a corporate 9-5 as a given and non-negotiable.. at least in my country. no one teaches you how to live by creating, doing things with your own hands, creating a business or a non-profit.. while a 9-5 makes very few people happy!
I agree with you. I grew up not knowing any other path! but hopefully things are changing as technology advances and more of the world is becoming more open minded

Your videos really inspire me! I am on a similar path and it is remarkable how much you can achieve of it if you simply dedicate time to it, give it some thought and the time that is necessary to make it all happen. I feel like we are always obligated to say how challenging something is in order to relate to people and make them feel like what they're doing is good enough - that life is just tough. To be honest, that is very true, but there is also another truth - that by taking the steps towards something, you're already on your way to achieving it. The better the steps you take, the more planned and the more genuine, with focus and effort that you place towards it, the more likely you'll actually be able to achieve it. Thank you for making effort and not complaining - for doing something and making your life something that you truly want to live.

I'm loving your videos. I just found your channel yesterday and am already starting to binge watch. I've had some things to work through in order to bring down the amount of belongings I own. Long-standing conditioning of lack and fear have made it hard to let things go and I've even created manifestations where I suddenly will need something I've finally let go of after YEARS of not using it. But I recognize the pattern of that, and I'm manifesting this outcome myself...born out of that conditioned fear of not having enough and having to hold onto things. But I've also been choking on it all....everything clogged up and stagnant. I'm shifting this unconscious energy so I can let go of more things without suddenly needing them afterward. Thank you for your amazing content and this video is great too, even though it wasn't specifically about minimalism and I'm commenting on that theme. LOL.
I am glad that she shared. I felt like I was prying into her personal info though. But I see it took a lot of critical thought, as well as you and your husband working together.

Second income: Let my money do the work for me.
I’m not just after the money, but the freedom to do what I want! 🔥
Yeah!!! Having to live on your terms is what really matters Atm
Sounds so much like a plan! How do you put money to work ?
@@millsjenna8606 Yes it sure is. I put in money in investments and get profits at the end. That’s how I make more money without working. This doesn’t sound new to you right lol
@@yvonneerik2510 thanks for replying. I’ve heard so many people talk about investment but none has told said how to do it right.
I’m hoping you can explain a little more how you make extra income from investments
Im so glad to hear creating videos takes you a long time - me too!! I always see people just fly through it and I'm like how?? Love your cinematic movements, your footage is beautiful.
Thank you Nina! I try really hard to let go of the Perfectionist in me when editing these videos 😁 I'm glad you can relate! It really is a full time job
I'm loving your calming voice voice that's why I primarily follow you, also your channel is nice.
My first income, I did a normal 9-5 job( Working shifts and weekends were killing me. Had to switch to a new job) . my Second income, I put my money back to work and make more money I'm not just after the money but the freedom to live on my terms. Wish me luck !!
Wishing you the best james ❤
Yeah and 9 to 5 can't give you the freedom you need. An extra income stream (passive income is a great option
If you need additional perspective, then read the book"Rich Dad, poor Dad". It's a great book it will open your mind. ..
Yeah I make 2k weekly as extra income from my investment. I'd advice you try to build more side hustle and extra income.
"Sharing a personal financial tale will always elicit criticism," Angela added, "particularly from folks who wish they had the same lifestyle."
So Speaking of investing... I've heard so many people talk about it. But I don't really know how or where to start and make a good investment. Share more information please.

Aw thank you so much :) so happy you enjoyed it
I have a very similar story.. I work in Education in a nonprofit and switched to part-time and home office since 2017.. It’s great and a minimalist life makes it possible 😊 love your channel! So positive
So glad you can relate to my story! I'm realizing what I truly want in life and it's definitely more time, not money.
Still doing the same ?
It's nice to hear you being truthful and sincere, you have got good foundation's to build on. Great video!.
Thank you so much :)
It's nice to disconnect from the hustle of life and to be reminded to slow down :)
Living in the “most expensive place in the world” is quite a minimalist life
This is my new favorite channel. I just love it. I'm 57 years old and I am learning great lessons from you. Thank you!

Lovin' the unintentional ASMR. Your voice and demeanour is so soft, calming, and soothing... :)

Going into my second year of college it’s really refreshing to hear a perspective like yours. THIS is how I want my life to look. I’ll definitely carry your advice with me- it’s a great reminder that I have the freedom to design my own life, rather than following the 9-5 structure. References to your husbands income are missing the entire point of the video!! Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I agree…
There are plenty of couples with two incomes and that doesn’t mean they are living in a manner similar to this. Sometimes two incomes actually causes some to increase debt or feel they need to.
I appreciate her sharing things she did not have to share, to help enlighten some of us that there are many definitions and roads to “success”.
Respect for coming out with your information like this and inspiring people. Love your videos. Sending love and blessings!
Never will you do less when you want more
@@fee3818 You have to do less of X to be able to do more Y. Because hours in a day is a constant.
@@fee3818 yup it is the reality. Don’t listen to all the garbage from motivated speakers ‘work smarter, not harder’. When I heard that, it drove me nut 🥜. You cannot do less when you make more money. Do you think as rich as Bill Gate, does he work less or more?
Loves the transparency..all the best malama life
Thank you so much ❤❤❤
Nice job of explaining your life style, one of the most important decisons you can ever make is to choose the right mate and to work together.
Getting Pocahontas vibes in the beginning. 30, no loans/debt and financially stabled? Who can judge you?! No one!
I am currently on my way, albeit I’m older, I’m looking forward to living THIS lifestyle as well! Props to you. Definitely encouraging to watch and listen to.
Even if you had nothing, no one can judge you 😂
Don't forget 2 mortgages, so definitely a leveraged lifestyle using debt to maintain it, though being paid off.
Be blessed.
Thank you so much :)
This is very inspiring. I've been thinking about leaving my 60 hour week security job, because it doesn't make me happy. I find it takes up a lot of my time, and energy.
I hope you find something else that fits you better! I'm sure it's out there
I have been there!
Hi from Japan! I totally thought you're a Japanese American born and raised in Hawaii 🌈 Your channel caught my eyes because I used to live in Hawaii and I really like the name of your channel, Malama (care for) life! This video has taught me a lot to live like you. I'm such a homebody and an introvert just like you and I enjoy working remotely and also make videos. My channel is so small and I'm hoping that it'll grow and keep expressing myself through videos 😃 Thank you for sharing your story with us 🙂🇯🇵
I am so happy you could relate 🥰 thank you so much for supporting me and my channel.
@@bigfootswatching9986 Wise words, indeed!

Just found your channel today and I’ve subscribed. I love it. It’s so refreshing to come across an open minded UA-camr who acknowledges that their success wasn’t solely due to them and their efforts but it’s a mixture of opportunity, luck, support, and hard work. Most people don’t realize that it’s a mixture of things that bring success.

Yes, It was mentioned in one of her videos. I don't remember which video. Maybe this one = "How I make my living as a minimalist."
Step one) have a partner so you can save a lot more between you and also share living expenses.
Step two) Become wealthy enough to rent out properties and live off the proceeds.
Oh well I'm screwed already I can't even pass the first step.
step one is come from a family that is already well off so you can attend colleges and obtain subsequent degrees.... already a lineage of assets here..... next

I feel like we are always given this career pathway of a corporate 9-5 as a given and non-negotiable.. at least in my country. no one teaches you how to live by creating, doing things with your own hands, creating a business or a non-profit.. while a 9-5 makes very few people happy!

LOL.
