Is Battle for Saipan going to be a great War epic or a B-movie flop?
Either way Starship Troopers will forever rock!

He's still posting on instagram. He was working on a full length documentary called Julian A Jiu Jistu Story.
I have a Japanese Arisaka rifle my uncle took off a dead soldier on Saipan. He was a Navy Corpsman.
I'll see it just for Johnny Rico!!
looks semi-interesting...I just wish they made a movie about the battle of Leyte Gulf specifically focusing on Navy Cmdr. Ernest E. Evans who led the biggest engagement of the battle.
It was his ship, the USS Johnson, + 6 destroyers and some small carriers vs 12 japanese destroyers, 8 japanese cruisers, and 4 battleships including the largest battleship ever built (Yamato)
The movie is horrible, But at this point you might have already watched it
Sounds like a lot of bayonets in the gut!!!
That trailer sucked. Marines smiling while walking through the jungle. Ambushed in a forest (not jungle) that isn't dense and then at point blank range from an enemy bayonet charge the Marines.......turn and run away. Whoever directed this movie is a moron. Battle of Saipan... I think it's the Battle of a Makeshift Frontline Hospital............ but I could be wrong. America's least favorite B-Actor might have a home run here but I doubt it.
That description majorly put me off. I'm not a veteran, but I am a military historian and what servicemen go through in war is an issue that is near and dear to my heart. A war movie shouldn't be described as a thriller. Thriller indicates action for the sake of titillation. War movies show action to convey to interpret the truth of war (as much as it can be conveyed to those who haven't experienced it). I liked your response. Those two things shouldn't go together. The trailer wasn't terrible though. Thank you for your service.
