I was in line for my food, going to pick up my weekly pull right after, when I got on my phone & saw an article saying the series was over. I was mind blown & destroyed.
I've said it before to others, but I REALLY want to see the story go back to the early days with a new cast of characters. A completely fresh start (doesn't necessarily need to be a full blown reboot) that allows for us to get invested in a new group of people, with more simple and organic-feeling stories like the old days that allow us to look more into the human side of the apocalypse like seasons 1-6 of the main show did instead of continuously trying to expand out the world and go from horror to almost sci fi-esque like things are now.
To me, the show started out humble with a clear purpose in the message and storytelling. It wasn’t perfect, but it made for some damn good television and a pop culture phenomenon that is still echoing today. Unfortunately, I feel as though the minute Frank was gone, the show fell victim to AMC’s overwhelming greed. Unfortunately I see many, many more years of TWD prequels, sequels, spin offs etc every few years.
@burdenofbest i finished twd comics within a week cause i just couldn't put them down, Invincible took around the same time. Robert is a goat when it comes to storytelling
I wish shows didn’t skip or mess up showing the initial outbreak and collapse. It could be so neat to see it all happen and people finding out what the world is going to be but they skip it. Even in fear they start off ok but mess up the entire thing. Also, I wish instead of shane being taken out of the show he would have left the group like he mentioned and we see his story along with Rick and seasons later they find eachother again. But they didn’t do it
@ yeah I’ve heard similar things and that he had other projects he wanted to do. It’s a shame I think it would have been neat to have him continue in the show somehow
Chore, that actually perfectly represents my feelings towards every single hour of Walking Dead content since The Walking Dead ended. Every spin-off season is like, "oh look, 6 more hours I have to endoue."
I personally like the Daryil show in France. Sure it was odd he would end up there and obviously they had to make up some alright reason for him to be there. Anyways I found even season 2 finale good enough. It's a pleasant show. Shame that nun had to die. Dude never laid pipe in the walking dead😅😅😅. In regards to Maggie and Negan show I can only write that I started it but couldn't bother to go on. That due is a no no for me. Maggie and him cannot mix well. It's unacceptable. Negan was the finest ACE in that show.
I watched the show until mid season six. Watched the season seven premiere then stopped. Recently I decided to watch the whole show. I'm a few episodes into season 10 and I'm getting bored. I like Aaron. I like Negan. Daryl. Carol at times. I don't like how they pushed Ezekiel to the side...Alpha is interesting enough, I guess but I feel like I'm watching just to finish it...
Yeah that’s the only reason I stuck with the show but then when I thought it was actually the end more stuff just kept coming to the point I basically gave up on it.
i remember the first and third seasons being very good. the second had alot of stupid and boring shit in it but the second half of season 2 was still pretty good. season 4 was also pretty cool but it had alot of boring filler episodes. the first half of season 5 was pretty good but it got a little boring with the whole Grady Memorial plotline and the the show sorta tanked in quality after Beth died. Beth's death was stupid enough already. they then killed Tyreese off in the very next episodes, and like two or three episodes later, they killed Noah. I don't think there was anything wrong with Noah's death. it was just not that impactful since two other main characters had died a few episodes before. Beth and Tyreese's death were both poorly written and there was no reason for them to die. Noah's death was fine. The rest of that season was kinda boring tho the final couple of episodes were really decent. season 6 was a bad season. i can't believe some people regard it as their favorites season. 1. Morgan went from being an interesting character to a boring and annoying character 2. most of the episodes were stupid with many of the characters acting stupid 3. the show left out a very important era in the comics called "We Find Ourselves." Yes, it could be considered boring but they could've devoted only one or two episodes to that entire era 4. Sasha is more annoying than ever (though i'd admit that she sorta gets a bit interesting towards the later episodes of the season) 5. too many characters to keep track of. none of them take a backseat since we don't really need to know what all them are doing. I get having characters like Rick and Glenn be a main focus of the show, but why is Gabriel now a main character? why is Tara a main character? this was a problem i had with season 4 and 5. they introduced Tara and instead of killing her off by sacrificing herself in the Tunnel, the writers decided to make her into a main and annoying character. Instead of either killing Gabriel off when the cannibals showed up or having him become a background, non-main character in season 6 onwards, they make him into a main character. 6. They had that whole "Glenn under the dumpster" incident. it made no sense considering that no one could ever really fit underneath. Even if you're a 5'7", 135 pound asian guy. 7. Michonne and Rick get together for some reason. there is 0 sexual chemistry between the two. I remember thinking Michonne was actually a lesbian until she reveals that she once had a son and husband (inaccurate to her comic book character and thus makes her a less interesting character, but whatever) 8. Rick starts acting out of character, risking the lives of his infant daughter, son, Michonne, his son, and his entire community by infiltrating an outpost belonging to a faction with a leader who killed a 15yo kid from another community. now don't get me wrong, there is some logic in his decision to get involved with these people. especially since they had attacked Abe, Sasha, and Daryl before and one of them stole Daryl's bike. but instead of just killing a bunch of random men in their sleep, why not conduct recon? and why use every single decently dangerous member of BOTH THE HILLTOP AND ALEXANDRIA to conduct this mission? like literally, there is Rick, Jesus, Abraham, Gabriel (for some reason), Glenn, Heath, Aaron, Sasha, Michonne, Daryl, Carol, and Maggie (who is pregnant). Everyone with any level of combat experience i both communities are accompanying Rick on this mission, leaving both communities wide open for attack. And why does it have to be Rick, of all people, to orchestrate this stupid and evil plan? Rick has had his dark moments but Rick from the first 4 or 5 season would never do something as evil and stupid as this. Rick is level-headed, protective of his family, and responsible. the excuse that all his fans give him that he became "cocky" is kinda stupid. That would make sense for a young man without a love-interest, two kids (one of them being a daughter), and with a rash, over-confident personality. but Rick isn't like that. he isn't that humble either but he's never been a boastful by nature kind of person and, like i said, he's intelligent and level-headed. Also i find it stupid that Morgan is the only one who's speaking out against this decisions. shouldn't people like Aaron speak out against it? or if Aaron isn't important enough to have a moment like that, why not Glenn? Glenn is smart, peaceful, and logical. He's had his moments of emotional thinking but he'd likely think about his wife in this scenario and would tell Rick not to get involved in this whole thing. But not only is Glenn a part of this mission, but he lets a pregnant MAGGIE (who ends up getting captured) along with him. Now i get that Glenn and Mag prob didn't know she was pregnant. But they had to have though of it as possible. i mean why would Glenn and Maggie check to see if she is pregnant at the Hilltop if they didn't somewhat think she was pregnant beforehand? but even if Glenn wore a condom, why would he let his wife come with him and the group on this dangerous mission. But even if he didn't allow her to go, they basically kinda ruined his character by having him kill one of the saviors in his sleep. This goes completely against Glenn's character and the whole point of who he is, in both the show and the comics. he is the ONE character who cannot do anything that evil or take someone's like. He is the ONE character who cannot let himself go. 9. and finally, Negan's introduction was drawn out, cringy, too much dialogue, and a bit disappointing. they should've had Steven Ogg play Negan. Ogg is much scarier, bigger, and stronger than JDM as Negan. Ogg is a naturally crazy and evil looking guy, much like Negan from the comics. JDM is like 6'1" and Ogg is 6'3". JDM is too skinny. Although Ogg is also skinny, he's still rather sinewy and muscular on the show, but not bulky to the point of it being unrealistic. Ogg even has the same receding hairline and Negan from the comics. They could've had Ogg shave his mustache, dye his hair jet black, put on some muscle, and slicked his hair back with oil and he would've look just like Negan from the comics. And he would've been terrifying. But no. But that's not even an issue, but JDM is still capable of playing as a scary, crazy, cocky villain. the biggest problem was the writer's dialogue for Negan and his long ass speech. In the comics, Negan already and scary guy because of the way he looks. his dialogue plays not part in making him scary. but in the show, JDM doesn't look scary. now imagine a villain who doesn't look scary, doesn't act scary, and never says anything scary. he just jokes constantly. yes, you get a funny and likeable character. but he isn't a good villain. it just comes across as stupid and cheesy in a very cringy, unfunny sort of way. 10. they ended the show on a terrible cliffhanger. imagine how much cooler the finale would've been if they had Ogg as Negan, had cut the monologue to be shorter, showed Negan killing Abraham, and then suddenly Daryl punches negan and they ended the episodes like that. that would've been alot better. people might even think Daryl would be killed instead of Glenn. everyone already knew both Abraham and Glenn was gonna die after the cliffhanger. 11. also Daryl's character in season 6 isn't that good. Daryl was really cool in the first three season. he stayed alright (but overrated) throughout season 4 and 5. but throughout the entirety of season 6, he just becomes stupid and hardly even a character. anyways, this comment is too long so imma wrap this up; after season 6, the show just keeps dipping and dipping and dipping in quality, to the point where it stops being a character-driven horror show about survival anymore and just becomes a zombie soap operah. characters loose their identity. annnoying, background characters take too much of the spotlight. too many characters who shouldn't have died, died. And most of all, the show overstayed it welcome. The show should've ended when either Rick defeated the Saviors, or when Rick and the group had arrived in Alexandria in season 5.
I agree with too much walking part (its a joke, but actually not). Walking Dead is build on group dynamic and drama, i hate when they focus entire episodes on characters i don't care about. Season 3 for example focused too much on this sad dude with a single eye and andrea. Season 4 is a russian roulette, but instead of bullet you have sleep darts (governor episodes) inside otherwise a great season. That's all bad episodes i can remember from s.1-middle of 6 (stopped watching). Walking Dead is awesome when it shows great dynamic between gray characters and great action, but in-between puts you to sleep really fast sometimes. I want to add that Amc's realistic artstyle looks fine 10 years later, but your eyes start to get tired after 4-6 seasons
The Commonwealth was brilliant the show was just starting to get interesting again I'd of rather 3 extra sessions that were planned of that than the dead city with Maggie as the lead can't stand her constantly lake's bad dissisions selfish terrible leader and just plan annoying.
I will never understand why the later seasons of TWD get so much hate. I think the later seasons are so much better than the early ones. The stories, characters, and human enemies got so much better as the show went on. The human drama is what makes it so interesting to me.
I get that and that’s great if you like the later seasons I never wanna take that away from anyone, I hope I didn’t come across as too aggressive when talking about the later stuff haha.
@10K_MMore strongly disagreed, Gen V felt forced and aimless but used gore and Smutty jokes to keep it's audience's Attention. the writing, characters and acting was pretty bad in a lot of ways. It's cool if you liked it, I'm not trying to convince you otherwise just being honest
I think the first mistake that created a chain reaction was when they spent a whole season just getting to terminus. They dragged that out a ton because they knew it was a great show and didn't want to go too fast. But that set up some poor pacing and they lost some audience
I agree to an extent but I do have to admit I do like some of the quieter episodes we spend fleshing out some of the characters and learning new things about them, in particular the ones where we find out a lot about Daryl’s backstory but yeah I do agree some episodes are just there too fill time.
July 3rd, 2019. a day i will never forget. the day the comic ended.
I don’t know if that’s intentional and I hope it is but I read that in Leon Kennedys voice haha
I was in line for my food, going to pick up my weekly pull right after, when I got on my phone & saw an article saying the series was over.

I agree. Idk why so many shows mess up the initial outbreak and collapse. It could be awesome to see in detail but they just skip past it
Fear the walking dead?
Fear the walking dead tried this but somehow they screwed it up

the show seemed to be too long so i decided to read the comics, and was surprised by the end, but still it was a satisfying ending
I still haven’t finished the comics, it took me awhile to finish Invincible but I will get back round to them.
@burdenofbest i finished twd comics within a week cause i just couldn't put them down, Invincible took around the same time. Robert is a goat when it comes to storytelling
