Let’s hope Mowz gets a buff in the TTYD remake somehow! I like how JDaster reworked her in the Infinite Pit, where her Love Slap is now a multi-hit attack (making charges and attack buffs much better) and Tease inflicts Confusion instead of Dizzy. Seems to be effective changes that remain pretty true to her vanilla base kit IMO.
Can only hope so.

I love how Ms. Mowz just steals her way around some of the rules. Who cares about not buying items and badges when you can just steal infinite amounts of both?
She learned the rules like a pro to then break them like an artist.
How to buff Mowz for the remake (my ideas)
-give her a Shotgun that does instakill
Thats it, I find it pretty balanced
So instead of killing the Shadow Queen in 2 turns, she can do it in 1? I like it!
Who knew that the worst Party Member is the only optional one. It's like Nintendo *wanted* nobody to find Ms. Mowz during their playthrough.
I still like her though. She's pretty cool.
I never knew she was a partner until after doing every other quest. An anonymous message to me sounded like I'd get jumped. lol

She's actually not that bad if you know when to use her.

Here are my ideas to buff Ms. Mowz. No idea how good they are.
-Ms. Mowz has a passive buff to compensate her low HP, similar to Koops' free point of defense. In her case, it's either resistance or immunity to negative statuses. (The justification being that she carries around either a feeling fine badge or an unseen weaker variant at all times and equips it with her own BP.)
-Love slap's base damage amount is 3/4/5. Also regenerates SP normally.
-Kiss thief can target anyone and doesn't trigger counterattacks. Also regenerates SP normally.
-Tease removes positive statuses from enemies in addition to inflicting dizzy. The status removal always works, even with no action command.
-Smooch costs 5-6 FP. In addition to the heal, it clears Mario's negative statuses.
Perfection. Way better than giving her a shotgun.
I think a passive buff for Mowz should be every enemy upon her recruitment has their rate of carrying badges/items increased. As a THIEF it would make sense she would want the opportunity to steal as many things as she could. (I'd even make Kiss Thief stun enemies she steals from) I also think Tease should be reworked to another status like Slow, since slow isn't a common status it would make it unique and wouldn't just be a Dizzy Dial. In compensation for low overall power make Love Slap reward the highest SP while making her first two hits a multihit. Smooch I completely agree.
I expected you to suffer through the challenge, but apparently, it went smoother than expected.
With Ms. Mowz, suffering is merely optional.
I will admit i was not expecting Mowz to end up with such nutty single hit damage. but also the fact to get anywhere functional with her as a combat partner took that much abuse of the games systems is a testament to just how much she sucks. if Love Slap was a twin hitting attack, or they gave her some hidden passive to be the party item specialist (something to the effect of a built in double dip possibly even just always getting to use an item in addition to a normal move, and or allowing her items to be powered up by her attack stat.) she'd actually be a compelling partner beyond farming purposes. in such a world it'd be kinda neat if Smooch instead was a high FP cost item generating move, something like name wise 'secret stash' and she rummages through a bag tossing a super shroom to mario or herself then a mystery visually to mario which if your inventory has room gives you a status or attack item at random. aanyways pointless rant aside, i hope this run wasn't too much psychic damage.
Ye. Says a ton about Mowz's viability that she has to exploit badges to such an extreme degree to function. On the bright side, it's the closest any partner gets to just turning on creative mode. And Minecraft from what I hear is fun!
I Never really used Ms. Mowz despite unlocking her (I was using yoshi primarily once I unlocked him.), but I REALLY didnt know just how many duplicate badges you could get if you DID use her. You could REALLY break this game over your heel if you gave those 15 or so mega rush P badges to Yoshi, as I believe the only attack he has that isnt affected is his mini egg.
I don't even want to think about a Yoshi with 15 Mega Rush Ps. That would make any partner into an unstoppable force.

I like her personality, I love her appearance, she just falls short mechanically (even for a mouse)

The Howz of Mowz is full of items. Thought it was only badges.
The badges are her business. But pack rats have tons of items just for them.
It really hurts that one of my favorite characters in the game sucks horribly in battle. I can't remember the last time i used her for anything that wasn't just goofing around. The good thing about TTYD partners, is that even the low tier ones can do things. You can use any of them to great affect, its just for the most optimal solution you're going to use Goombella, Yoshi and Koops with Flurrie showing up as a cameo. Mowz is exempt from this because her kit is worse versions of every other option in game.
At least my favorite partners Yoshi and Goombella are the best ones, so i have no struggle in now using my favorites since i use them all the time unless its Mario only. My one fear is the remake basically nerfed them (even if i understand it)
Mowz needs to be adequately buffed. Like why is Love Slap not multi hit when it looke like it should be? At least the audience knows how awful she is.

If my sanity wasn't already scarred by Pokémon, I'd be more affected by this run I feel. LMAO. I do agree regarding Mowz being underpowered though.
As much as I love Ms.Mowz I admit she suck a lot battle wise XD. I'm actually doing the 100% version of this challenge with little rule changes Like: I'm only allowed to used only the worst bages of the game and I'm allowed to use Mario (Otherwise this challenge is way too hard for me). And as I post this comment, I'm stuck to do the Pit of 100 Trials after chapter 3 Just to tell you how hard this challenge is. Doing -1 in attack in exchange of always regain 1FP it's so cruel D: Close Call and Last Stand are useful, but only if I manage to 5HP or less and became completly useless if (Mostly Last Stand) I'm at floor 80 or lower because most of the ennemy deal at lest 7 damage each. So Yeah I have a fun but hard time going down there and all ths for an enve less usefull badge Return Postage. Yeah all that's for the most useless badge of the game thanks 100% you're not helping me XD

This was incredibly entertaining to watch especially with you being constantly exasperated with how weak Mowz is 😂 I'm confused though, did you or did you not actually buy items in this run?
As I mention at the end of the video, I did use coins to buy items. My thought process was to only buy items I could legitimately steal, but I would steal at least one item as proof of Mowz having the option provided she could for that point in the game. So I couldn’t cheat the challenge by buying Slow Shrooms for example if I couldn't demonstrate where the item could be scavenged.
@PhantomAarantula technically, she could steal a mega rush P from an enemy, and then that means you're free to get a bazillion of them from the casino and have Ms. Mowz deal around... so much damage that being near her will cause one to turn to dust.
@@JadeTheProtogen1 Power Rush Ps, yes. Mega Rush Ps however can only be stolen aside from the one found in Petalburg and are more than twice as strong as Power Rush Ps. It's pretty darn cathartic, too.

Finally, someone that remembers rhythm thief
Ms. Mowz buffs:
-Buff her Ultra Rank HP to at least 30
-Let Love Slap target foes in the back as well and do 5 damage at Ultra Rank
-Make Kiss Thief and Tease do at least 1-2 damage along with their added effects
-Cut Smooch's FP amount down (10 FP to 4-5)
She still wouldn't be good, but at least be somewhat useful.
Probably won't happen, but nice thought regardless.
Interesting. i don't quite see the logic in Kiss Thief or Tease doing damage, but the others would help a considerable amount.
I honestly think a good buff for Mowz regarding Kiss Thief would be, when the player recruits her the chances of enemies holding items by let's say 30%. Then when using Kiss Thief when said item and badge are successfully stolen the enemy becomes stunned. Also make it to where it no longer has hammer range
As for Tease either make it confuse status or weak spread damage that confuses, essentially a slightly buffed Infatuate. Or hell give her the slow status with Tease, since it would be a unique status for her and would set it apart from other status options, since it wouldn't just be a dizzy dial.
She would still be the worst partner, but have some niche utility options.

Well technically if the yoshi dude is mandatory for those other guys it's technically not against being used but Only for that fight in particular every other fight you use any other partner ends the run but it just depends on the person having other partners beat "Required" fights but it just depends on the person totally not dissing your rules bro, keep up the good work my friend.
I'm having a hard time trying to parse what you said. But I think the first sentence completely misses the point of what a challenge run is supposed to be. Why should TTYD be the exception for forcing Yoshi to be used in Chapter 3 when other challenge runs specifically look into methods to skip otherwise roadblocks?
Honestly, the ability to inflict status isn't the problem, it literally everything else with her kit and the point she's gained in the story for most players. I mean low damage defense piercing, okay, that's decent for the starting move, but stealing items is really not useful unless it uses a copy immediately, or they change her stats, but no, it's just stealing an item, when enemies can't use them, that's a waste. Now if enemies could use them, still not better than outright killing, but not as bad.
And it's all grounded only, one at a time, that's actually the worst part, as most companions are only good late game if they can hit all enemies on screen, or multiple, but no, she's honestly worse than Mario, which shouldn't be the case. They should be equal or outright better.
Unfortunately for ol gloomy though.

Question. Are items damage static, or does an increase in attack power increase the damage? I don't know much about this game and honestly I learned a lot from these videos. Lol. Also question do you get a notification when someone posts a comment on your video? Just curious about...well a lot of things as you could probably tell...I'm a sucker for knowledge. Lol
The damage is static. Depending on the element of the item and the vulnerability of the target though, the damage could increase, do nothing, or even restore HP.
@@PhantomAarantula Sooooo let's say you use a fire flower on a fire enemy. It wouldn't be absorbed and transferred to the HP? Wait is the HP regained related to the damage of the item?

What if you could use PM64 partners in TTYD?
Goombario would be marginally better than Goombella for not needing a badge to use charge (though the Multibonk bug could make him potentially worse unless it was assumed to be fixed)
Kooper would be strictly worse than Koops having to lose Shell Shield while Dizzy Shell has a status that's much worse in TTYD and a fire element isn't strong against any bosses.
Bombette lacks Bomb Squad and so would need items for Cortez, but otherwise should be able to manage fine. Though the Glitz Pit would be a bit of trouble since she's not going to be able to hurt airborne enemies until after Chapter 5.
Parakarry would be fine. May struggle to efficiently do damage though.
Bow would benefit significantly from partner badges existing much like Yoshi, but otherwise faces trouble from bosses with high defense like Dark Bones, Bowser, and Gloomtail as well as bosses with multiple targets like Grodus and the Shadow Queen.
Watt would struggle with Chapter 8 a lot because of lacking moves that hurt multiple targets at once and unlike Ms. Mowz, can't jack her power up with badge farming so she could easily be outpaced.
Sushie's a similar story to Parakarry, but better defense and a much better AOE.
Lakilester would be heavily reliant on having lots of FP for the REALLY late game and has the slowest rate of damage to single targets. Odds are he'd be reliant on Cloud Nine to finish fights at a reasonable level.
But hey, that's just my 2 cents.
To be honest, isn't Flurrie worse than Ms. Mowz? One of her moves has a gimmicky usage to it, but her basic attack is a jump and her other moves aren't too useful iirc.
Flurrie is objectively better than Ms. Mowz, no.
Question. What happens if you defeat... ????? (Dooplis) before he steals your...uhhh shadow? Identity? WTF does Doop...I mean????? Actually do there?
I answer this in my most recent video better than I probably will be able to here, but you flat out cannot defeat him in the first encounter. His HP will be set back up to 10 and any remaining actions you have will continue to be used that same turn where Quinn Tuple-questin Mark fights as Mario's silhouette.

People aren't mad (as far as I know), it's just a proven fact that Ms. Mowz is generally the worst partner to use for battle.
