I KEEP GETTING OUT ON THE LAST PART TRYING TO TIME THOSE.... FIRE BALLS....
Here is a tip, when the target appears in the fire balls on the last phase, lightly tap the dash button. Do not hold the button down as that will cancel your timing on the fireballs. Learned that the hard way for 2 months.
Sega really went all anime and made the final boss a dragon

Well this Is the closest thing to a dragon-like boss battle unlike a certain Spyro Crossover or a regular dragon-like being In the Sonic Universe.

I think this game(the final bosses in particular) could be a really good tool to help with procrastination,
if only because it is so unbearably unfun that you would rather be doing something else
Amy and trip will only appear if you doges all his attacks. and tails and knuckles will appear every 30 seconds.
This boss blew with no build up or sudden hints about it,s existence! Mania,s final boss was better. I hate to say that since I like superstars. (Except the final boss in both the main and trip,s story being a living hell without the infinite super form glitch.)

Hate to say .. but this final boss blew. Very forgettable and no build up to the actual antagonist.. so while time I didn’t feel any connection to caring about taking it down lol
I agree. They could have at least made Robotnik control that dragon.
Sonic Mania is way more perfect
Too bad Sonic Team doesnt know how to share the spotlight. Especially after the game they made after watching Civil War (Forces) blew in their faces, emphasizing the beauty of Mania even more.
the last phase is bugged. if your taps are held down too long, you fail the following projectile.
Reminds me a bit of the final boss in Mania.
How did you do the homing attack thingy at the end?
You have to time it just right. Once the circle hits the center, hit the dash button. It took forever for me to get it down.

You mean the fireballs? Tap the dash button when the target appears on them, don’t hold the dash button.

why the hell do i get so few rings during the battle? it seems like in every video i watch the player can easily get 70-80 rings while i struggle so much, and i can't see what you guys are doing different from me

Tails and Knuckles drop rings when they're on-screen, they'll give you 10 bonus rings if you come in contact with them, that's how they got that many rings. Do it when you see them on-screen.
Also, at some point in the boss, a giant flicky appears on-screen and both Amy and Trip drop ring monitors. Make sure to look for it.

@DarkShadowX9 The frequency of Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Trip is random, as is the time when they appear. This was a good run, but it is quite common for them to show up a lot less often, or to be interrupted by the transition to 2D. This boss sucks because of how much your success depends on RNG.

More than half of the games out there are better than Sonic 06. Even any Sonic games in the Master System are better than Sonic 06.
this game that Eggman is never seen again after being defeated in the main story in this game seems lonely compared to Mania...
