You’re making an old veteran smile. For a year I drove 5 ton tractor trailer and ran in convoys all over Northern I-Corp in South Vietnam! Anytime I see more than 4 or 5 trucks running together or hear the word convoy my heart skips, my testosterone peaks and I’m transported back 50 years! Thanks for the memories.

So, Jax, one for the holidays.
    Twas, the night before Christmas,
    And all through the cab.
The c.b. was silent, and the radio was dead.
On my way home, from and east coast run.
With a special delivery, for my special little one.

I came over from HeavyDSparks after seeing their version of this episode. You got me all choked up again. God bless you all!
About 50 years ago, I was hired to dump a gravel belly-dumper for some road building. When the truck got into position, I had to trip the lever on the 1st bin, then run along ahead of the rear duals, watching for the 1st bin to finish, then trip the lever on the 2nd bin. A cabover White was one of the tractors on the project and I remember riding with him to get a load. He had probably 4-6 inches of slop in that long gear shift but he could hit every gear pretty well. That was a pretty big thrill for a 14 year-old.

I'm so glad to hear that you all got to feel "that moment" when you sprang your good-deed surprise on your neighbour! I mean, that's why we LIKE to give - because it feels so darned good : ) It makes all of our efforts to do some good so worthwhile. But that's not WHY we should give...We should give because it's the right thing to do - to help others when their need is greater than our own. Jesus really knew what he was talking about : ) As always, your message of kindness and love is spot on, Jax. There's so much we can all do to help ourselves by being better - and helping others is a great way to improve one's self! But you already know that : ) Thank you, Jax - and Cody, and HeavyD & his team. May God continue to richly bless you all, and your families, and keep you all safe. XX

Jax watching you and your daughters gives me great satisfaction . They all have different personalities . But the oldest for now is going to be the one you have to watch . When she drove up in the four wheeler she looked like she was 30 years old . When you took them with you on a trip I loved it . They loved it . To be with your dad while he's working will be something they will forget . Family is everything .... That's what's wrong with most of this country . But you're fortunate enough to live where it does mean something . You and your family a rich and ways most people are not ever ... This is why you're so popular . Now I want to tell you something about myself . I am a 79-year-old man that had a good life . My happiest days was when I was married . It gave you a sense of purpose . Work to me was never work . But when I was fortunate enough to help other people . It made me feel really good . It was addictive . Now that I am older I can't do what I like to do . Don't get me wrong I'm grateful I had the time I did . I now live on this computer . It saddens me to see my country out that I love . Go through what it's going through . So videos like this to see what it means to be normal hard working good people . It's it gives me energy that we all need . It's call hope hope for the future and the people that will inherit the earth after me . Television which most people watch in the cities does its best to take all that away and never show things like this . No one wants to see the underbelly . I would especially not want my kids growing up to think this is normal . So thanks for sharing , Joe

I live way up north in Québec and I watch a lot on what's going on politically in the U.S. feeling sad for you people. I used to run up and down Canada and U.S. driving trucks for over 20 years and you just reminded me the true real good honest hard working men and women I met running all across. Thank you for reminding me that those persons still exist today. thank you for all you guys did the whole bunch of you. And by the way cabover are KING OF THE ROAD and all the other are just reenforce pickup trucks. Long live the CABOVERS long live to you and the bunch. Seasons Greetings from Poularies. What a great vid! One of my boys favorite memories (they are 35 and 30) is when we road tripped from Charlotte, NC up to Columbus Oh, so I could pick a radial arm saw that I bought off off E-bay. Mom wasn't there so it was Dad's rules which meant as long as the law wasn't broken it was ok (the boys were 12 and 7 so I wasn't to worried). We stayed at a hotel with a indoor swimming pool. They swam until 11 PM . I woke them up the next day, carried the both to the pickup truck and they slept the rest of the way home. Pizza for dinner and breakfast! A great time. I still have the radial arm saw and the boys.

My first truck was a '67 Ken C/O. After that was an 84 Mack C/O. Then there was the 76 Corn binder C/O and then the 81 Freight Shaker C/O. I didn't get into a long nose until '97 and it was an 84 Pete. Yeah. Love the old Cab-overs. That is how I learned. I started the day I came home from the Navy in 1984. First trip? Portland Oregon to Fairbanks Alaska in that old Kenworth. Had the time of my life!

My dad drove an old cabover cross country from 1975 until the mid 1990s. I started in a 1965 cabover freightliner in 2000 and ran cross country in ot then the boss upgraded to a 1978 359 in 2005. Still miss that old cabover and that old screamin demon.
