Great topic! I love learning about cults/groups that claim to be “Christian” but aren’t - I worked with some Jehovah’s Witnesses, went to school with Mormons, had friends who went to Unitarian Churches, and family who fell for Scientology. I feel like knowing what I *don’t* believe helps me better define what I DO, and love apologetic studies.
I was just looking for places to eat near a friend and saw a “Christian Science reading room” nearby, realize I never did a deep dive on that one, came to UA-cam, and found this sermon! Thanks!
Thank you for speaking on Christian Science! No one talks about how new age and demonic its doctrine is.
I have very close family members who are actively and deeply involved in CS and my heart breaks for them because they're so deceived.
I must add though, they absolutely do believe in "prayer" - they make it abundantly clear to you when they are "praying" about something. However, like you said, it doesn't make sense since you would end up praying to yourself following their doctrine, so what their "prayer" actually is, is affirmation.

Mary Baker Eddy was really just a grifter who founded the Mother church late in life after several failed relationships and business adventures and essentially stole the idea from her partner. I was raised Christian Scientist but my mom took me to the doctor when it was needed but I still agree with power of positive thinking to succeed ..to a point.
Christian Science killed my entire family. Hard thing to swallow at the age of 8.
