Hey there friends, I am so excited to share this video with you. This jacket is truly one of a kind and I fall in love with it the more I wear it. The amount of compliments the Flint And Tinder Waxed Trucker Jacket gets is a little crazy. The biggest question I get is whether or not it's worth $298. To me... absolutely! The fact that the waxed canvas will patina and create a unique look that nobody else has means more to me than I thought it did. The construction of this jacket is insane and has one of the highest quality builds I've ever experienced. Like I said... this jacket could be a F%$#@ING LEGEND! Plus, it's made in America!

As I’ve commented above. This area is under reforestation from a previous wildfire and was soaked from a week of snow. I’m not going to go cut down wood in this area for a video.

I'm all for buying quality, without depleting my 401. Which is why I bought the "Kuhl Burr Jacket". Rugged, fits well, and great looking. Got compliments the first day. (They make the jacket lined, or unlined)
The fact that this jacket is made in the US was my reason for picking it over the Filson short lined cruiser jacket.
How do you like it? I've not had good experiences with Filson.

Recently purchased the same jacket, even in Forest (looks better in person). First, the jacket is ... awesome. I can wear if in FL up to about 82F, and down to about 50F without a sweater. Second, I had to purchase both the Large and XL - I am 190 lbs/68", I wear a 42 Short suit jacket. The large fit my torso well, but not enough room around the back / chest (flash to Chris Farley, big guy little jacket). Third - Huckberry had the EASIEST returns ever! Immediately credited the Large return once it scanned into a drop location (Fedex). So buy with confidence, try a couple sizes, send the other one back and no worries! Plus, I have yet to meet anyone who does not love (not just like, but love) this jacket. If feels somehow rough and tumble and yet almost a silky smooth texture to the touch. As a retired Army vet, I hope to wear this jacket until I die.
I also have the Forest in XL. I'm the same suit size as you as well. The XL is the sweet spot for adding a sweater underneath without feeling constricted

Oh the Havana looks fantastic. I got mine in "Forest" and can't stop looking at it while I'm wearing it 😁 I did take a seam ripper to that gaudy inside label on the pocket, but apart from that, it's one of my favorite items (alongside the RgT Supply Jacket).

do you find that the forest is more of a green? or is it dark brown? I'm having trouble deciding between the forest & havana.
@@camdoinstuff98 The Forest is absolutely green, even though it doesn't look that way in the photos. I even thought it was a dark, grungy brown when I got it, until I saw it in clear light. I think it's a badass color and quite unusual.

I, too, have a Jeep TJ…the last REAL Jeep….not a “momma goes to Walmart, four door behemoth”. I notice your struts rear window struts need replacing….I’m an original owner of a spec-ordered ‘97 TJ Sport. All my kids learned “stick” on her, I’ve had the frame “capped”, replaced the front fenders, windshield frame, 148k on the clock. In western Massachusetts now, but she has taken me on adventures in coastal Georgia, the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, along the Outer Banks, up to New England and the beaches of Cape Cod, and the deep woods of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. I now have: a ‘90 Porsche 944 cabriolet, my wife’s ‘16 Subaru, my ‘20 Toyota Tacoma…and this Jeep TJ. While my wife’s car is my wife’s car, I’ve been tempted to sell everything else, and have my Jeep completely restored, new frame, upgraded and updated…..she’s been too “loyal a family member and companion” to just let her go. (Though I’ve had some ridiculous offers to buy her!!!). Maybe, just maybe. Oh! BTW…..nice jacket, amigo. Seems priced a bit high, but nice jacket. I’ve not been a fan of Huckberry….I’ve sent items back at least two times. Though, it looks like a nice product. Not as nice maybe, as my 45+ year old Navy flight jacket. With three kids, no kidding, I have two of my own, my Dad’s…so my three kids will get one. And agin, BTW….Nice video location, too!

If you don't mind me asking, what is your height and weight? Medium looks perfect on you. I'm still thinking if I'll get the small or medium.
I am 6’1 and 180. In this video I was probably closer to 190-195.

Huckberry is a great site. It’s not cheap but they only sell high quality stuff. I like the waxed trucker so much I also got the flint and tinder waxed vest and waxed Hudson jacket this year. I think I’ve had the waxed trucker for 3 years now.
They’re such an incredible company. How’s the trucker jacket holding up?
@@ModestlyMinimal great. I attempted a rewax a couple months ago but didn’t heat up the jacket first so I’ll probably try that again soon but maybe wait until fall
I mean it survived a 20 year apocalypse and is still in great condition, so still a great guy 😂

That’s a hard one…. I love both the field tan and forest. I guess the question would be what do you see yourself being able to wear more with what you have?

How’s the warmth over time? Still satisfied with the flannel lined? Am debating on wool…pockets are lined on the wool too
I love it more now that it’s broken in. I stay pretty warm so for me the flannel lined with a layer or two under on those cold days works perfectly.

I just received the Rogue Territory supply jacket today, which I find the fit to be a bit awkward for my body type, and so I continued searching to see if there was an alternative that's similar and found the Flint and Tinder just tonight! Just ordered one in Field Tan and hoping it'll be as good in quality and a better fit.

Thanks for the video. I’m guessing you’re wearing the relaxed fit version of the jacket? Also, what is the sizing like? From what I read on their website if you’re a taller guy they recommend the relaxed fit version but if you’re not very tall they recommend the classic fit. I have a bit of a gut, so I’m just curious how that would come in to play with sizing? Do they run big or small?
I actually have the classic fit. I am 6'1" and 178lbs. The fit is great but "snug". It definitely feels like a tailored fit. I'm wearing a large in this video with a sweater underneath.

Do you have any experience with the wool lined jacket? I live in Alaska and I’m wanting to pick up either the wool lined or the flannel lined but I’m torn.
I don’t man. I wish I did. But if it’s constructed anything like the flannel lined I would say it’s a solid jacket. If temps are low there I would 100% go with the wool lined. The flannel is warm but I wouldn’t be wearing it out with anything below 20-25 degrees.

It is relatively water resistant. The waxed outer shell will repel water very well as long as the wax is maintained.
What did you do to your TJ? How sad!

How is the sizing? Mostly interested in sleeve length. I have a 6’8” arm span and it’s almost impossible to find jackets that fit well in sleeve length and on my body.
Hmm… that’s a good question. So I have no idea what my arm length is. But I am 6’1” and wearing a large. The sleeves break right past the wrist touching the hand. I will get a good measurement for you tomorrow on arm length and sleeve length.
What chest size are you bud?
Does this jacket suffer from clammy arms like Barbour jackets? I have a Barbour Ashby jacket and the polyester lining just doesn't breath at all which causes very clammy arms even when doing something as casual as walking in a mall.
I don’t believe so. I wear this jacket quite often and don’t seem to have that issue. I do with another jacket that has the polyester but this jacket is flannel lined.
@@ModestlyMinimal description says it 100% polyester striped blanket lining. But good to know it doesn’t have the terrible sweating problems like other jackets. I might grab this in field tan 😂
Yea, you are correct. But I have another jacket that is the polyester lining and feels almost silky. I sweat really bad in the arms in that jacket. Not this one though.

Hoping this fits me well, I am usually an M in almost everything but I've been gaining a lot of muscle lately and plan to get to 210lb at 5'9 by next fall. I like clothes in general a bit snug for a fitted/tailored look but not super slim or anything like that.

The area is undergoing reforestation from a previous wildfire. I won’t cut unless I need to and everything on the ground was saturated from a good weeks worth of snow/rain. Without the Jeep, or any higher clearance 4x4, this trail would be inaccessible.

So, right now it’s a little stiff. Definitely pliable and soft under the wax but it needs a good break-in. I’m assuming if you wore this jacket daily for a few months you could have a decent patina start to form and you would notice the outer layer getting a bit softer.
The inside flannel lining is extremely soft and comfortable. It’s a super warm jacket in the body and the sleeves.
I will be honest, once I got the Wellen Quilted Jacket I haven’t worn this one much. I have so many jackets to film that they go through test periods. But I am excited to pull this one back out in a few weeks and wear it again.
I’ve noticed in the rain and snow it repels water very well. Obviously it’s not water proof so enough rain/snow and it will start to hold moisture. But I’ve worn it through some pretty heavy stuff and it holds up well.
How do you wash it?dose it need special care ?
Never wash it! The patina over time is what makes this so dang good.

I wear a size medium shirt and bought a size large jacket. It’s a perfect fit. I’m not sure how the measurements line up but if you want I will check them out this evening and let you know.
