Childhood favorite. The Sandlot was always my favorite of the kid baseball movies, but this is a close second. The adult humor in this was always funny to us, even as kids.
Was the sandlot that film about the group of kids/mates on a team? And at some point their baseball goes into a neighbour garden that has a massive dog and they have to jump over the fence to get it?
I loved this film growing up! My brother and I rented this VHS pretty much every few months for a good couple of years! This and Angels in the outfield were what I grew up on watching with my family! Cheers!
This, the Sandlot, and Angels in the Outfield are my favorite baseball movies!
I remember watching this on tv years ago, indeed you need some attachment to baseball to enjoy it more, but as a kid i kind of enjoyed this silly underdog story about this kid overcoming personal struggles in a bigger tham hin situation, is a product of the times for sure
Hiya, guys!
long time no comment lol
So I was an extra in this movie; it was filming in early spring, so the temperature was about 45F (7C), and not a lot of people showed up. They paid a few people to take off their jackets and pretend it was Summer. We would have to move from the bleachers, to the cheep seats, etc, in order to film scenes. If you look, you can still see people in coats, and they also did a split-screen with us to make it look like more people were there. We got a free Cubs thermos and a bumper sticker for the event.
Not bad.
Awesome!
Bull Durham and The Natural from the late 80s too
Eight Men Out in `88.
Sexy Susan Surandon
Thank you guys for a great review! 👍 always the highlight of the week 👍
I've always loved this movie, watched it a lot as a kid. Still an enjoyable fun film. Great review guys!
Holy shit after Gary's rundown of turn-of-decade baseball films and Iain's point about not being that into them, I would *love* to see you guys do a review of A League of their Own. My wife is from Colombia and doesn't know anything about baseball and that is one of her favorite movies of all time. The Sandlot is also very deserving of a review!
Now I know where funky butt loving was sampled from for that John Candy metal song. Awesome.
Wake and bake for this one 💨 childhood classic 👌🏼 ... oh and nWo 4 Liiiife 🤘🏼
As much as I love these old movie reviews, I wish you guys would do some mainstream films along with bad films. There are so many different popular franchises I'd like to see these guys review in detail, so I hope you will eventually put them on the list. Throwing in some bad film reviews once in a while would be great because when you guys bicker and debate it's always entertaining.
Living up near Seattle. Another cool rainy night. Bland and mundane. Until Off The Shelf Reviews drops yet another fragment of my adolescence!!!! You guys are awesome! You are appreciated.
Oh, God!!! Move inland!!!
Love this movie. Grew up watching it. Just recently watched it again last week so it was awesome to see you guys finally saw it
Great review guys, its always a treat seeing John Candy no matter how short of an appearance 😀 👍 I completely forgot about this film, i strongly remember The Sandlot that film is amazing but anyways great job done here lads 👊.
didn't notice you mention Bull Durham 1988
" Cobb " is an amazing film.
You guys should review it without someone having to pay a bunch of cash to suggest it
'Rounders', it just isn't Cricket.
I have the same shirt as IAN except mine is black and red
shelf life! 🎉
As an American girl i can honestly say Baseball bores me. Baseball movies are worse😊 still enjoyed yall review.
Great film, great review!!🎉
I really like this Movie. It's cheesy and it's clearly for Children so it's not Perfect but I can't help but like it.
*Turn up*
I would like to see xfiles resist or serve ps2 review

Ey yo!
Holy hell! That is a lot of baseball movies! I'm personally not a fan of sports, let alone movies about sports. But if the movie is still entertaining enough, I'll still give it a try. Great review guys!
Well, wasn’t expecting this. It could be Air Bud or Grease 2 next. I’m liking the variety.
They always honor the Patreon requests
Yep, this was my Patreon request
This is still, for me, the funniest movie I have ever seen.
You want a good Hidea palette cleanser? BLOOD SIMPLE.
Iain must now watch the Football Movie : Escape to Victory (1981) starring Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine and Pele !
Haha, just kidding
You mean soccer ⚽ because American Football 🏈 is an entirely different sport over here 🏟️.
Guys should review The Bay excellent found footage film
I love how the coach never got his name right.
He did one time.
