+Adam Buttons Your father was one of the greatest ever. missed by everyone who ever saw him perform or by who ever knew him as a man and great human being.
Red Buttons is the funniest comedian who lived up until the day he retired. Then it was up to the new kids but no one will ever be so consistently laugh-out-loud funny. I love Dean Martin more because he loved Red Buttons and Foster Brooks. They both could make him laugh hard and that adds to the enjoyment of hearing them perform. I can't wait until the Kingdom of Elohim to see what Red and his favorites are gonna do when they do open for Y'shuwah HaMashiyach at a one-night-only comedy blowout!.
Many of us are fortunate to have lived through an age that gave us the greatest comedians in American hisitory. I watched Red Buttons on this video and laughed until tears ran down my eyes. Adam Buttons, how lucky you are to have had Red Buttons as your father.
I cannot believe that Red Buttons was 84 years old when he delivered this masterpiece. Truly inspirational. I wish our elderly politicians had this commanding presence when they spoke. I would feel more confident in our government. I also always think of my beloved dad who passed 4 years ago. Dad loved Red Buttons, Sid Ceasar and so many others of this generation. I have watched this clip maybe 10x. It brings me comfort and always makes me laugh. ❤
I never laughed so hard...pure genius...I have watched this probably 2 dozen times at least..i have it saved..when I need a laugh I watch it..the build up of first giggles, they gawffs, then laughing out loud & then the whole room seems to vibrate with laughter, humming away...it should go down as one of the greatest "bits" ever performed..it is just that good..!!
This is how you crush a room. Priceless comedy. Legend. The Ann nicole smith line was murder. You can hear Sid lhao then entire time. It's the loudest laugh in the room.
Actually…I believe i was there that night as well, with my whole family. I recognize his act but i could’ve seen it at someone else’s gala 🎉 But I swear that I can hear my uncle Howard’s laugh, as the loudest laugh! 🤷♀️
So happy I could hear this...Red Buttons brings back beautiful memories of me holding my sides, laughing so hard. He was the funniest of them all. You were truly blessed.
btw, this was one of the greatest, funniest tributes I've ever seen. it was 18 minutes of pure fun, ... and a wonderfully sincere & heartfelt message at the ending.
Being funny keeps people young - having a great sense of humor is the best medicine. But one thing tips even these benefits: you make other people laugh. Stand-up comics are my heroes. It’s actually, in my opinion, a higher calling - a spiritual person one. I never tire of tuning in to these sessions. And now all my friends are hooked, too. We’re all Red Buttons fans. I saw that red’s butler posted about his dad! Thank you. Sweetie, for these super-boosters. You can’t be unhappy after listening to Red 17:48 Buttons, alavashulem. ❤ 17:48
Red was one of the best! Great to watch these clips, including the Dean Martin Roasts. Comedy today has fallen down the stairs and I am still waiting for it to get up.
I was laughing so hard tears are running down my face. Thank you for posting this. His character in the The Longest Day was one of my favorite in that movie. I've seen him many times on the "more clean" Dean Martin roasts, but to see him at the real friars club in this video was amazing.
This has been here for years and I'm just now finding it?? I'm so thankful! I had no idea what a genius Red Buttons was--no idea! That Bing Crosby bit?? I downright laughed out loud 'cause his delivery was so believable. The whole thing was artistry--and I never knew! I've been robbed! I used to shrug, meh, over Red Buttons--and now I know I missed a matter all along.
This was a truly funny man, one of the most underrated comedians of his time. I had only known him from his lame performances in "The Longest Day" and "Hatari." Then I found these wonderful appearances of his on UA-cam. I've seen them many times and I still laugh out loud. God bless him for giving us so much laughter.
The delivery, timing and content of these late, great comedians was the absolute best. A bygone era when free speech was still upheld and the PC police and professional victims were non-existent.
I was listening to him and he said " I was salting and I was sucking " and I had been drinking Ginger Ale and literally did a spit take & had to keep from choking & was snickering for 5 minutes. It helps with the Orthodox Jewish Vampire joke if you're Jewish. Funny stuff. I once played a vampire role playing game and the game master asked me who my character was & I said I had been sent by the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem to investigate the strange deaths of the people in the area. She went along with it and everyone who was playing a vampire in the game was completely unable to do anything to the Rabbi. They were terrified of me & did not know how to react because none of the players were Jewish. I was one of the few non vampires that night NOT to get bitten and walked out of the vampire meeting area unscathed.
You are looking at the real humorist. Doesn't hit you over the head with it doesn't have to go overboard being filthy or violent or nasty. More subtle is his style that allows the audience to reach for the funny. After a while his delivery itself is hilarious. Listen to the howls of laghter before even speaking. Always wondering what twist the story takes. The annual Quazimoto rub-a-hump for luck day! !!
+Adam Buttons this video-clip was one of the greatest, funniest tributes I've ever seen. it was 18 minutes of pure fun, ... and a wonderfully sincere & heartfelt message at the ending.
@@blodgettshouseofinsanity he got it back in the early 70s doing friar club roasts it was a comeback for him in his career my dad was always creating and writing his own material . He say to me in order to be successful you have to do your homework.

I was there that night I miss my ad he was a great humanitarian and wonderful man and he made the world laugh… I love you dad….
Where you with you dad when he did the autograph show at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn? I know he had a son there with him when I met him.

Made my day.

Just wanted to say I think your dad was also a brilliant dramatic actor. Love him in Sayonara and The Poseidon Adventure.
Adam Daniel Buttons I had to tell you- in a room full of comics, he schooled them all. This is how it’s done.
Adam Buttons, have you ever considered a memoir on him?
Your dad was really funny. I grew up in Vincennes where he was born. He did a show there when I was in high school. This is a great vid. Thanks
I wonder if he ever got a dinner after such a masterful delivery?
ALWAYS FUNNY! HIS DELIVERY IS WHAT DOES IT! SO VERY GIFTED!
I've known OF him for years from films esp The Longest Day, but literally on the last week i am binging on him. I was there but didnt get a dinner.
Hail Ceasar. I agree with frank ferro. Sid, you gave us laughter...and all of us, are better for you. HAIL CEASAR.

And Norm went another 11 years after this
I laughed harder and longer with Buttons than anything with Seinfeld.
Just hilarious
Now, that man was a PROFESSIONAL COMEDIAN.
Today we have Leslie Jones and Amy Schumer, who aren't qualified to shine this man's shoes.
RED👍
