Fully expected the sequel to suck, but it didn't...not by a long shot. Has the same cast, comedy and a lot of heart. Well worth your time, dude.

Whether or not you choose to react to the original movie, I highly recommend watching it fully it is a classic.
That said this movie was HILARIOUS and honestly I loved that it paid homage to the original in little ways. It didn’t try to match the original or do a remake, they just made it it’s own thing.

I definitely didn't expect much from this film and was pleasantly surprised by how funny it was. I'd definitely recommend checking out the OG and the sequel.

yes he did on his Patreon! i think he said something about being more into indie films, like Requiem for a Dream etc. as well as making his own short films that he didn't go to see many mainstream movies

This was a fantastic reboot of the classic film. Usually movies like this get made as a cash grab and arent original. But i loved how this movie paid homage to the original while also bringing it into the 21st century and poking fun at video game cliches. The cast was fantastic too
In the original movie, Jumanji is a boardgame. It brings Jumanji into our world. Definitely watch it, it's a classic. The sequel to this one is great, too. I loved it just as much!
Sidenote: I loved that they didn't remake the original but picked up where it left off. That's why it didn't get much criticism. It respected the source material and didn't try to do it better. No one could ever replace Robin Williams anyway, may he rest in peace.
Finally someone recognises Karen Gillan as Amy Pond!! Granted, most reactors I watch are American so they don't watch Doctor Who, but that's all I see whenever I see her. You're also correct, she's a top tier companion!

Elephants are badasses. I saw a real video where a single elephant got surrounded by 5 lionesses. They were jumping on him, tearing with claws and he beat them all, in the end walking away alive.

The only reference you needed from the first one in this was his name... Nick, in the game, said he didn't build his place, Alan Parish did. Which is Robin's character name in the first movie.

DEFINITELY watch the original movie. For one thing, it stars Robin Williams. 😊 True, you don't *need* to have seen it to "get" this sequel, but there are some fun little callbacks.
The game-playing dynamics are different, because Jumanji is a board game in the first movie, but some of the underlying structure is the same.
The original is not necessary to watch, but I would recommend it anyway. Despite some questionable CGI due to the age, it's still a banger, and Robin Williams is on top form. The sequel to this movie is just as good as this one, so I would definitely recommend you get around to that too. Love the reaction, you earned a sub from me.

I saw this movie with my mom and my oldest niece and we all absolutely loved it lol. I remember all the fuss over this when it was first coming out and people were saying how bad it was going to be but I could tell it was gonna be awesome and funny asf. And it is!

Definietly watch the sequal aswell, it's really good. Also another suggestion is "Central Intelligence" It's another comedy with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. One of the more funny movies i've ever watched

The levels were giving turns of different antagonists,first was animals:the hippo then it's men,then the snake,men,rhinos and finally both men and animals!
