again awesome response and great knock down. 6 minutes 41 seconds and fire is basically under control. you guys should seriously start making training classes for fire schools. incident command comes to mind. Bn1 Decker should be teaching this class.

Just a guess but unless there is danger to human life would you want to enter a Meth Lab thats full of chemicals that might explode?! By the looks of the fire and smoke that dog would have passed away. I am a dog lover myself and would hate if anything happened to my pets but running a Meth lab with children and pets these people just don't give a s**t. I don't know much about Meth but can imagine the chemicals needed for it, I wouldn't want to enter that house until I was absolutely sure it was safe to do so.

"Just a dog?" That's not cool. As someone said earlier, that could have been a service dog. If I am trapped in a fire, I damn well want my guide dog rescued.
I really don't like criticizing firefighters, and more particularly this department, because I know that Mr. Decker would like things kept respectful. Nevertheless, I regret to say that I had issues with the remark I quoted.

Bill Williams: i'm not saying the firefighters should have tried to rescue the dog. I'm just saying that a less dismissive comment might've been more appropriate.
Having said that, I have to wonder about the ethics of people who run meth labs while they keep pets on their premises. They must be pretty stupid if they don't know the risks. It sounded to me like there might have been children in that house. What kind of parent runs a meth lab?
It was suggested earlier that the dog might've been a service dog. I'd like to think that a service dog handler wouldn't be so stupid as to be running a meth lab.
If it had been a service dog, the odds are that its handler would've had it with him/her. I handle a guide dog. One of the cardinal rules of guide dog handling is that you must know where your dog is at all times. If it was, then why didn't that handler have his/her dog with him/her? In service dog handling, it is a cardinal rule to know where your dog is at all times.
Interestingly enough, we had a false alarm in our building today. Both of the dogs came to the door at the same time as we did. We nicely had our coats on and the dogs harnessed up when the alarm stopped ringing.
Had I thought there was actually a fire, I would simply have tossed my dog's harness over my head and heeled her down the stairs.
This is getting a bit off-topic, but I'll go anyway. I get my guide dogs from The Seeing Eye in Morristown, New Jersey. The Seeing Eye makes it clear that if you are an addict, you must be clean and sober for a year before you can get a guide dog. If you fall off the wagon and they find out about it, they will never give you another dog. If one guide dog school kicks you out, all the guide dog schools across North America will blackball you. So if the dog in this case was a service dog, and if the handler got the dog from a program, then the handler is in serious trouble, more particularly if his/her addiction caused the fire.

Question to you fire fighters...why do crews arrive to a working fire not already geared up with turnouts, gloves, helmets, air bottles, and face masks so that when they get out of the truck, they're ready for an offensive fire attack? Can that not be done safely in a moving fire truck?

Yes it can and in most areas it is common practice.

It would have been nice to see an outside line catching stuff the interior guys can't see like the peak of the roof. Doesn't take long for a small burn like that to get the attick involved.

Was it worth cooking meth in the house and putting the family in danger of DEATH?😤

Would it have hurt to tell the guys going inside that there's still a dog just in case they bump into it? Smh Just a dog? What if it was a veterans service dog that helps him cope with PTSD?

Yeah, I don't understand why they did nothing to try and save the dog.

Fast and Safe while using the least amount of water. Good Job! Consider slowing it down from the outside as you walk from the tree to the front door as a straight stream will cover the entire room that way and eliminate the flames before you go in.

JB91710 wow that's the nicest comment I've seen of yours yet. Love this fire dept. They get in and get it done, not all that window breaking, roof cutting and standing around while the fire rages on. You must of worked for a fire dept??

Now, with that said, in the nine years I have been responding to unsolicited responses to my comments on UA-cam, I have NEVER found it necessary to Personally attack anyone to get their attention and put them in their place. You, are the Only one.
I happen to be a very nice and respectful person to people who Deserve respect but You stepped way over the line in your unrelenting and unsolicited Personal attacks to my fire fighting comments, Prior to my outburst to you. No I don't expect You to step up to the plate and apologize to me nor do I care because I am a Big Boy and names will never hurt me, but this comment is the Last I will respond to from you.
