As someone who is somewhat of a Notion "veteran" I am going to be recreating this template in my own workspace as I can't afford to buy it sadly. I’m excited for the new template! I’m determined to be consistent with it this year and start at the beginning of the year. Everything went nuts for me between the library and home starting in November. My notion book template updating was one of the casualties. 😢 The new one looks beautiful and I’m ready to use it come January.
Also, you were so right about Where the Crawdads Sing. It was so good! I devoured it in a day. I was feeling 4 stars and then that ending pushed me right to 5. I watched the movie too, but it was a major let down. It had none of the subtleties and poignancy of the book. I think the use of an overlaid monologue would’ve helped the film so much. I feel like they rushed make it and didn’t take enough time on the script. Okay, mini rant over. 😂

thank you so much for your purchase!! i really hope you have enjoyed the 2023 template! I am thinking I will put out one yearly to keep up with notion updates and changing the yearly dates. There are new features with this template that notion rolled out over the last year which I think are really useful. They continue to update their interface, and I am hoping to put out new templates each year to keep up with the updates.
I want to emphasize though, you are able to update the templates yourself and you absolutely do not need to repurchase the template if you dont want to! I tried to make them so you are able to easily add years, months, etc. A large portion of the template (~60-65%ish) is the same, but there are added features with the new one! Thank you again for supporting me!

I've seen some people do graphs using Rows / Grid [but grid has limit on relations so it wouldnt work for this] rows idk yet i havent tried it but i rly want something that does some basic graphs and keeps updated in itself as u add more books to each database

How do we import data? Or does your template already have books in it? Just trying to see how motivated I am to go through my books and export goodreads info lol
You can definitely import goodreads data. It just takes a bit of time to sort through it all.
If you export your goodreads to a CSV, you can import it on the main library database. The data will sync, but once it does, the goodreads data will create a bunch of new properties that the original database does not have and you will have to sort through. For example: it creates an ISBN column (I have just deleted it). At the same time though, it will automatically enter the author/title in the respective existing categories the database currently has.
It takes a few extra steps to sort the data how you want to, but it can be done! Hope this helps. Here is a link of how to import existing data into a database in notion: www.notion.so/help/import-data-into-notion
I don't know if this is a dumb question or perhaps it's personal preference - but is the intention to input all my books (the ones read previously before 2024) into the 'my library' section?
AND another potentially dumb question: for the 'my library' can I remove the publisher questions? I just don't want to have to do too much thinking otherwise I will stop using the template and I love it!

1. I think it’s a personal preference. You could input all your books if you want to, or only input ones you read in 2024
2. Yes! It’s super easy to either delete or hide properties in a database. You just click on the property and can press delete or hide and it will be gone!

Hi Kara. What if I re-read a book? How do I input that in the tracker?
I didn’t think about this until after! What I did for my spreadsheet is add a number column called “read count” which I adjust based on the amount of times I’ve read it

@@kellimoss3952 I didn’t add it to the spreadsheet, I added it to my personal template. If you want to add one to your own, add a new number column and title it read count then just adjust the count to reflect the number of times you read it
