Mike, thanks for having me on the channel and giving me the opportunity to speak with you and your audience. I’m loving this series of videos that you’ve created and hope that this video, like the others, can offer some value to the viewer. Thanks again, Stuart.
Hi. Great video! I’ve had it bookmarked for a few days to go back to and glad I did as it was really useful and enjoyable. A quick question, if I may? I’m definitely going to try some of the advice in this video, especially around the tools, but can you just clarify what the difference is between an “action list” and a “to-do list”? Is it the time boxing and/specificity? Thanks
I don't know what @InfluentialPMO (Stuart) would say, but to me: - to do list = unstructured list of things you'd 'like' to do. When teaching Time Management, I call this a 'Could do' list - action list = list of things you have determined you will do. When teaching Time Management, I call this a 'Will do' list
Such a good question - I’m happy to clarify. I use to-do lists as things that I’m committed to do, usually in a single day. Purely a productivity tool. My action lists are of every action I’m tracking in the project, no matter the source or the owner. It carries a lot more information on progress, target dates, sources, etc. I hope that helps 👍
Stuart Taylor's Influential PMO channel is a great place to visit. There, he usually acts as the Project Management Mentor you wish you had!

Thank you Stuart. It was a delight to have you on the channel and I'm looking forward to having you back soon!
Has it really been 2 years? We need to do this again sometime!! 😀
Hmmm. Good thought!
Two very smart people. :)
Back at you
For the action list, please try Simplenote and Mymind.
Will do! I've added it to my action list! 😉
Other products are available of course. A lot of PMs like OneNote, Trello, and other free tools.

So... Two completely different interpretations of the terms!
There are no absolutes in Project Management!
Thank you so much!
You’re very welcome
