Great find!! I do the same. Lace appliqués are expensive.. especially the corded lace. I mended a gown that had been the grandmother’s that had some damage near the bottom & on the bodice… I think from how it was stored. The replacement lace was almost identical, but I removed the same pieces (mirror image) from the other side of the dress And added a few else so it really blended the laces. I removed the damaged lace & was able to replace it with 2nd hand lace… also a bit aged. Fyi … I put a teabag in about a qt of water for 10-12 seconds. Just enough to tint the water. It helped with the age look of the older lace. Remember, if you do this if the water looks dark, add more water you can always dunk it twice getting the dye out as hard if it’s too dark.

Great idea on drizzling the hot glue. I’m working on a thrifts wedding dress now.

Thank you. It is a brilliant idea but…. It’s not mine. I have seen a few other ladies do it. You know how we crafters are. We always take inspiration and ideas from each other. It’s a wonderful community to be apart of. Thank you for watching and commenting. 🙂

love the appliques of the wedding dress so much .... I'm sorry if I ask but I was wondering how much is a good buy to buy a wedding dress

Hi Yasmin. I don't like to go over $20.00 on a wedding dress that has a plain skirt unless it has a long train that is edged in nice lace. I paid $30.00 for the one I cut apart in this video because it had a lot of appliques on the bodice and sleeves as well as a really long train with pretty lace on it. I have paid as much as $50.00 but that was for perfect condition and it was almost completely covered in lace, appliques and pearls. It really depends on the dress and how much it is embellished as to what it's worth. My limit is $50.00 and never more than that. I hope this answered your question. Thanks for watching. Hugs..Linda
