    I remember being taken away from my abusive mother as a kid, and Pokémon Red was my escape. My happiness. My friends when I had nobody. My Pokémon were my friends, because I was made fun of in school also. I didn’t have anyone but these little guys. I’m 29 now, and I have my own house, making amazing money, and I live alone. I have braces to fix my insecurity of my teeth, the thing I was made fun of the most in school, but nobody cared to get my teeth fixed. I dealt with so much abuse as a kid, into my teenage years. I have a Switch, and I’ve been playing Pokémon for a long time. It’s so nice to know these little guys were there for me at my worst. Now at my best, I’ve never embraced something so much. They’re still my friends today as they were 15-20 years ago. Man I’m crying.

    Strange story. Back in the days when Red and Blue were new, sometime after I learned there is a Pokemon anime show, I had a dream that I was playing a 3D Pokemon game. No, it wasn't Pokemon Stadium, I was playing a Pokemon game on a handheld system with N64-like graphics in my dream. Looking back at that dream now, I strongly believe that I saw a brief vision of future me playing Pokemon X, Moon or UltraSun or Sword.

My brother had the other ones up to that point, and we played the Pokemon Stadium games and Pokemon Colosseum. I got back into Pokemon this year playing SoulSilver and Black on an emulator. Went out and bought Brilliant Diamond, Sword, and a Switch lol. I turn 34 this week and hoping to receive Let's Go Eevee and Arceus. :) Looking to get Violet once it's patched. Maybe someday I'll go back to the emulator and play the gens I skipped.

      We're roughly the same age, I relate to that, I started with red/blue with my bro, then got gold/silver, we also got Stadium and Snap on the N64. I played ruby on an emulator at the time, but the experience isn't quite the same if you're playing alone in front of a computer screen. Then a few years later I met my wife and I played diamond/pearl with her and her kid. I'm kind of nostalgic of this period, when pokemon go came out I was very fond of the game but the emphasis was mostly about capturing pokemons, there wasn't a story element to it which I was missing and it didn't stick, plus it ate the phone battery very quickly and then you couldn't even hatch your eggs while going for a run cause they put a very low speed limit. If I were to play Pokemon these days I would need some kind of augmented reality like pokemon go but also a storyline to it and a way to integrate in the busy life of a grown up adult, it's kind of tough isn't it?

    I'm on a Saga of playing all of Pokémon Games in my 3DS/Switch (and despite I love Pokémon don't even know if that's worth it) although, by far, definitely it's apex is in Pokémon Black, and Pokémon Legends Arceus, both games where they decided to be a little more daring, which for me resulted in a major sucess. The history is a lot more interesting, with more background, and gaming design in general seems a lot more caring. Awesome.

      My favorite pokèmon game is Sapphire (GBA) all the way , I prefer Sapphire details than Ruby ones , Ruby second place. Emerald? Just no , it's like a copy with some story modifications I don't like and added content , I played Emerald on an emulator and I stopped playing after a while , I keep playing Ruby&Sapphire on GBA , Emerald I felt like it was not authentic and was an alternative fake copy , I felt the sensation Ruby/Sapphire are the true ones , while Emerald is a fake. Emerald was done just to hope to sell copies with less effort in game realization , in fact it was much less bought than Ruby and Sapphire which are the most bought in the franchise , also in Emerald there is the Battle Frontier and there is a competition where you have to reach the top of a building by blindly choosing among ways with different outcomes and if you take the nasty way your pokèmon is poisoned by the referee (or whoever it is that jrk) even before the battle. Basically you have to let them poison your pokèmon without opposing resistance , that's something mischievous I would never do , I refused to compete there just for that , I was so disappointed that I quit the game , the other buildings were ok but I did not like some of those modes , I mean , a battle is a battle , pokèmon VS pokèmon , 1 vs 1 (or 2 vs 2 at max) , fair and square , no strange limitations , no strange stuff , that's the way I see it , then it's subjective. In Emerald there is one bug which allows the player to clone pokèmon , that means you can have maxed teams with ease , I also watched explanations about Emerald having places where you risk to get stuck forever and to be forced to restart the game since the very beginning if you save in the wrong moment , finally there are too many stranger pokèmon species in Emerald , so I did not feel the pokèdex as authentic anymore. I can say I played Emerald , but in Sapphire I did it all and , most importatly , l lived it! And so I do.

    oh i loved these games i was never able to play them as a child because my family didnt have enough money to buy the consoles and i would always look at them in the stores and watch gameplays on my moms phone... later when my mom got a little laptop i was finally able to play some pokemon games on an emulator on the laptop! emerald was my very first pokemon game that i've played and i alsp got to play pokemon black and y- which i always found the most interesting - on my ex boyfriends nintendo ds. now that i have my own job i bought a switch and tried legends arceus, played shield and am currently playing shining pearl too but i really like the old games sooo much more. it's a pity i couldn't play most of them.

      I would recommend playing black and white. It has so many diversity in pokemons and it has good graphics and some animation such a good game.

    My favorite games of the franchise are 3rd generation for GBA , the 32 bit graphics there is delightful , my fav , I like that even more than the graphics of 3D games about environment and pokèmon , but even more about characters , the guys were so cute to see , the 3D ones feel strange , they look like robots or cyborgs. Also , in 32 bit I have never had bugs or framedrops which are more or less brought by more modern graphics games , all goes totally fluid there. Modern pokèmon games are delightful to see too , I just like mildly less , a thing I don't like is when I see the detailed environment surrounding the pokèmon and the pokèmon battling with turns and without moving from the place , I have the sensation it is stuck or something , so I prefer the scheme way with theme background and not detailed environment in battle process. Finally the 3rd generation has my favorite region as environment , stories , pokèmon , nature and music , the entire lore is focused on nature and pokèmon there are almost all like monster-animals and they are wonderful , never trivial , just a very few are inspired by objects. After all , Hoenn region is inspired by fantasy but also by Kyushu japanese region which is the home region of the creator , no surprise it has a special factor within. My favorite pokèmon game? Sapphire (GBA) all the way , I prefer Sapphire details than Ruby ones , Ruby second place. What an amazing company started out as independent developer with measly two people ended up creating legendary games that always improves next installment despite the hardware limitations. Can’t even imagine what kind of huddle they had to go thru making the Scarlet and Violet considering it was only made by 5 people of budget of $30 and a bags of Cheetos. Hope small franchise like Pokémon gets its recognition and able to get some more funding so they can make triple A games quality in the future.

    Great video!
    I took a look at my old Pokémon Red game for Gameboy Color.
    Saw some of my old and very familiar Pokémon’s.
    Can anyone please describe how I shall “save” them to this “Pokémon Bank.” And not only have them on the old Gameboy cartridge, but “in the cloud” as well.
    Also if I transfer them. Will I still be able to use them on the cartridge as usual, or will they disappear?
    Thanks a lot for the information!
    //Blessings, Richard.
