  • This is the OnePlus Open, the most compelling foldable. At least here in North America, it offers an almost invisible crease, an impressive camera system backed by the Hasselblad name, impeccable performance with a snapdragon 8 gen 2, etc. Find out more in my OnePlus Open 1 Week Later honest review.

Great video! Since you live in Canada (Ontario) like me, what is the call quality like? What carrier are you with and do they allow it to be provisioned for VoLTE and VoWifi or do they only allow it to use 3G for calls? That’s one thing I can’t seem to find any feedback on with this device in Canada.

For me, I've only used wireless charging only because it's there. Ever since I switched to Samsung (S23 Ultra), from iPhone of 16 years, although it has wireless charging, I never thought I'd appreciate the fast charging capabilities it has. iPhones have fast charging capabilities as well but let's face it, wireless charging just doesn't do it. Only since I have magsafe chargers, I used them and it would be rare that I would use the lightning cable. My OnePlus Open just came in a few days ago, and with the 65W charging, I can never go back to wireless at all. Full charge in 45 minutes? Unheard of! At least for me. My Wife has the Samsung Fold 4 and my co-worker has the Fold 5 and side-by-side, charging on the OnePlus Open blow them away.
As for the OS. I have to honestly say that Oxygen OS is a breath of fresh air and once you get used to it and have become acclimated to it, you just want more, and that, I'm excited about as OnePlus says they'll have 5 year updates and support.
Awesome video btw Bro!! New Subscriber here!

I get 18 hours with almost 8 hours of screen on time. The battery is fantastic, at least with what I do with my phone. Apps, games, texting, calling, social media, I get better battery life on the open than I did on my s23 ultra. I'll take fast wire charging that can fill my phone from 0 to 100 in less than an hour over wireless charging any day

It is just impossible to have 8h screen on time with a 7.82 inches screen. Maybe you got 8h using the phone closed most of the time. I have s23 ultra with 5000 mAh and the screen is much bigger than 6.31 oneplus open have...or oneplus closed have to be more exact, excuse me :))

I dont understand this craze over "wireless charging." First of all, its not even truly wireless for most because u have a charging brick that is wired to the "wireless" dock. And even if u have wireless built in ur furniture or in ur car so that there are "no wires", every time u pick up ur device to use it, u interrupt the charge. My current phone has wireless charging and my car also supports it. Used it once. On my old phone, it was a cool novelty but every time I wanted to use my phone, i had to take it off the wireless charger which is a big flaw to me. I don't get this gimmicky charge hype. Just put actual fast chargers around ur house instead of wireless. Better deal.

Had a oneplus 8 pro for a few years now. For a while there I was ready to jump off the oneplus train. They were making some strange decisions on the software side of things. But that kind of started to turn around at the beginning of this year. To the point where I am fully enjoying my experience with my 8 pro again. Sadly, my 8 pro's battery just isn't what it used to be. I was weighing my options between replacing the battery or getting something new. My friend just got a fold 5 and was very happy with it which of course made me jealous. I decided to look at what oneplus was doing recently with new hardware, and there was the open. I pre-ordered mine after seeing many positive reviews like this one. Should be getting it tomorrow. I can't wait.
