This was the route from Thao Dhien to district 1. I used to traverse it a lot when I was in Vietnam twice over the last year. I'll be sure to pay this guy a visit when I return and support him

Off to Vietnam at Xmas. Noticed you paid for the coffee with your phone. Is that standard Apple/Google Pay or is it a Viet specific payment app?
He paid via a mobile banking application. But if you are a foreigner, I think you cannot use this method because it needs a local bank account.
Today the most common payment method in Vietnam is an E-wallet such as " Momo" and an online bank app. If in a big city such as Ha Noi or Ho Chi Minh, you can use your credit/debit card. But it will be better if you have some cash when you travel to the other provinces/cities.

Momo apps can add credit card for QR code payment, but it need a Vietnamese mobile phone number to open new account. If you go on the tour, ask your tourguide or hotel receptionist for help. (Not so sure if Momo accepts oveseas creditcard). Cash is still priorty payment in Vietnam everywhere, so don't forget to always bring some with you. Welcome to VN and hope you have a good trip ;)

Chris, there is an Island inside the city of Saigon. It is an actual island with 1 road in/out. It’s call Thanh Đa. Go straight in and there is a com tam that’s really good.

Tipping culture is not common here but you can tip if you want to do it esp with the hotel/ resort services
Tipping is not popular but we do tip when we appreciate good service. I would def tip in this case.
Its not common and its not a 'tipping culture' like US or Europe, but it is hugely hugely appreciated and will set you apart from the Japanese and Koreans who will spend 2 mil and tip 5k

Bỏ cái suy nghĩ sẽ nói tiếng Anh như người Mỹ đi. Nói theo chuẩn dành cho người non native speaker là ok rồi vì bạn ko sống bên Anh bên Mỹ.
@@hientrinhle6160 ko có cái chuẩn nào là chuẩn dành cho non-native speaker hết cả. Chỉ có 5 chuẩn duy nhất là Mỹ, Anh, Úc, Canada và New Zealand.
Ngoài 5 chuẩn đó ra thì tất cả đều là ko chuẩn hết.
Cũng như tiếng Việt, b ko thể coi 1 dạng tiếng Việt lơ lớ nào đó do người nước ngoài nói là chuẩn cho non-Vietnamese speaker được. Tiếng Việt chỉ có 2 chuẩn duy nhất là Hà Nội và Sài Gòn
