I am starting my first set of construction documents, and all of your videos have been an immense help. Thank you for making the task of learning new software as painless as possible.
Mr. Sonder..... This was FANTASTIC!!! I love the methods you have and do employ for your model work and construction plan work! It is truly art. Thanks so much for sharing! -BK
Thanks so much for sharing your methods and they seem clear and efficient. I'm not an architect but it still helps to plan my own work-flows as I migrate from 3d cad to sketchup for bespoke furniture and kitchen design and expect it to be faster and more integrated. Your use of layouts and sketchbooks were particularly helpful.
Thanks Nick for all of the tutorials- we have been wrestling for years on how to manipulate layout to get rid of AutoCad. I'm sorry if you've already answered this, but what hardware set up are you using? Looks like a mac- but what set up is giving you the most speed. Thanks!
Pretty interesting how you manage sketchup files, I do almost the same with my models but I include more layers to set up lights and ornaments as well. I really would like to know which motor render you use to present your models.
Nick, Thank you for making these videos and sharing them. I have found the information very helpful. One question, is there anyway to hide the lines between groups? For example there is sometimes a line half way up a wall where the first floor group and the second floor group meet.
Nice question!!! I I have the same problem, the line between the over site slab and the walls show. The lines are actually 2 where the groups meet , Try hiding each in its group.
Hi Nick. Thanks so much for these videos; they are fantastic! Do use any Ruby scripts in SketchUp, or just the built in toolsets? It looks like you use some sort of tablet along with your mouse to navigate - have you tried a 3D mouse like #DConnexion's Space Pilot? I bought one recently and think it has increased my productivity between 20 and 40%. Gives nice smooth orbiting and walk throughs too.
Nick, what software are you using for the screen capture of your video's, they look great! When is process 7,8,9,10? :) Thank you so much for your mentoring
Nick your talent, work, and abilities are very impressive. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge here on you tube. I have learned so much by watching your videos and I especially liked process 4 video about the detailing - very helpful. I hope to someday have half the know how you do about using sketchup and layout. Thanks again, John, shedking.net

Wow. Just finished your 6-part video series. You are an architect in the whole sense of the word and a generous person. All the best to you.

Great job. How long did it take to do the second house from start to finish?
I use Kerkythea for renderings. I do end up with more layers as the project progresses adding layers for lighting, furniture etc.

Sorry if you answered this before...do you get into dynamic components for windows and doors or just straight components...thanks!
Nick do you import all of your interior details like stairs, furniture, doors, etc from a 3D warehouse?

very unique and useful work way!
how do you set your wacoom keys?
Thanks
just out of curiosity: how many hours of work did you put into the second model? It's quite amazing.

That second house is awesome!
mister Nick Sonder, could you please make a guide on using wacom in sketchup? it would be wonderful :)
!!! You are so good at this stuff!!
Excellent work and excellent presentation of your methods, thank you.
Thanks for the roof tip. I'm stuck on a very difficult one right now!
when you edit your working model does it automatically update your line work taken from section cuts or do you have to redo those?
I set them for mouse centerclick for orbit, shift for copy, cntrl for select +/-.
And you still don't use a 3D Connexion Space Navigator???
Your work is amazing. Thank you very much.
No Massimo, I don't. I use a Wacom tablet that has similar functions. I'm able to orbit and zoom simultaneously like the space navigator.
Philip it is a PC - i7 2600K, 16 GB ram, Nvidia GTX 550ti video card, LG 47" HDTV 1080P 120Hz screen, Wacom Intuous 3 Tablet
is it possible to download your AMAZING sketchup files?
Plz I want this model help me
