Hopefully I can go back to weekly uploads. - read the description like you always should - yes, I'm aware of that Jornal Hoje mistake, and I was just told that the Egyptian news intro is actually an ident for the country's second channel - Kudos to StupidStickman for the many African intros discovered here ua-cam.com/users/StupidStickmanvideos - Despite the discovery of more old Philippine television footage from said channel, I couldn't find a single news intro from that country around the time. - I could try a remake of 1983 and 1991 as they are outdated, or 1984 could be nice to do too. 1993 I would like to try but it would seem too complicated. A multi-year one that will be split up into parts seems like a good idea too
I'm okay with rebooting the 1991 and 1983 ones as the current videos are too long, and it's better if the news intros and channel visual identities are shown in separate videos. In addition, there are other materials that have been found, and there was little collaboration in gathering the videos.
As always, great job compiling these clips! Glad I was able to contribute in a way, (by uploading those African intros). I’d like to add though, you could have added the 1984 RPN 9 Newswatch intro for the Philippines because I believe it might’ve been used in 1980. The Newswatch logo from 1984 is similar in style as a logo used as early as 1978, and the 1984 Newswatch theme song was used as early as 1980, so I believe the same intro from 1984 was also used in 1980. It therefore could’ve been used in this video. Can’t blame you for having errors though, I know these videos can take a bit of time. A 1983 remake or 1984 compilation would be a good idea.
It's good to remake the 1983 one, as it has some errors and more intros are now discovered. But yeah, do what you think it's better for you. And also maybe try with other years, such as 1965 or 1958 (i know the video would be a little short but maybe there are rarities in)
14:44 That Notiseis intro was actually actually used before 1980, the original recording is from May 1st, 1977, as said from the anchorman on a longer recording of that intro.
It's fascinating to hear how many of these international themes (e.g., Turkey's, Moscow's, Poland's, Prague's) are so traditional in instruments and arrangements that they could have been from the 50s or 60s.
The YLE Uutiset logo at 19:02 was only used starting from August 17, 1981 (and it was used until 1987). Before then, the older intro (the blinking logo one) was used instead.
Not bad after helping you with the intros, I really enjoyed the video, it shows that 1980 was a good year for the news and the newscasts around the world had good intros at that time, both musical and in images. and I was also surprised to see a news intro from Pakistan and one from India (which must be between 70s to 1982, when DD National inaugurated the color broadcasts in the Asian country)
@@4myrH_05 There was TV News in Malaysia before 1978 based on TV listings but intros or news samples prior to 1978 are hard to find and yet to be uncovered. A lot of Malaysian TV content before the 80s are lost due to a fire in the RTM ( Our Public Broadcaster ) archives a while ago. Thankfully, they launch a retro channel where they manage to air shows they produced as early as 1970.
I actually remember the New York Channel 5 news intro (my parents and I watched that station almost every night!) But what was really weird was the Australian "eyewitness news" program using the SAME music as did Philadelphia's Channel 6 (and probably several other stations as well)

Something about this Polish intro: it's only a short part of that intro. Btw it's been used from 1976 till 1980, then the one with "jumping" wbite "d" and red "t" came in😉
I imagine the letters of "Telejurnal" with an overly colorful and psychedelic effect to accord at the rhythm of electronic organ music, but the Romanians at that time had little budget. And the melody sounds like a circus music. 🎪🤡🇷🇴
