- This violin is labeled "Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume" but we have our doubts about the authenticity. It does appear to be very old! The violin was in need of many repairs including some cracks in the top, as well as needing a new fingerboard, nut, pegs, bridge, and sound post.

With a fantastic setup thanks to Andrés, our master luthier, this instrument is ready for a new home. The sound is quite good, somewhat tame under the ear but projects well with a warm tone.

Nice Playing!....
Thanks for watching!
It is sonorous at lower register without the harsh tone of the newly made violins.

It has a nice tone. Not all Vuillaume violins are created equal though: It was HE who invented the concept of kiln-drying to speed up the process, and there's a fair bit of difference between his kiln-dried and naturally dried instruments (in terms of tone AND value). He patterned his violins after Stradivari, and in fact destroyed quite a few original Strads in the process.
