A lot of you have inquired about a Snell Knot and I encourage ALL of you to look at Brandon Palaniuk's video titled *To Snell **-or-** Not to Snell Debate Revisited* and to keep an open mind. If a snell knot works for you and your style of fishing, do it! For me, I prefer a Palomar for my style of fishing. Thank you all for the feedback it is very much appreciated!!
The size of the hook depends on the size of the bait being used. With a 3-4" bait I use a 2-3/0 hook. 5-6" bait you can go all the way up to 6/0. I like my hook to be able to stick itself into or as close to the bottom of the bait as possible.
Awesome video and channel we just subscribe to your channel. You seem to be very knowledgeable in fishing. As always happy fishing and tight lines. Fish On!
Use a snell knot. The barb of the hook kicks to the side when you set the hook. Other knots cause the barb to kick inward. Tie the knots and drop the bullet weight down the line to simulate a hook set and you will see what I mean.
ubb4me snell is overrated. I have more and better hook ups on a Palomar.... palomar is always in roof of the mouth for me and I do A LOT of punching in Louisiana
I love the palomar and use for everything else. I fish the CA delta where the water levels fluctuate 3 or 4 feet in as many hours. Sonetimes im flipping, sometimes im pitching. The angle of the hookset changes and for me, the snell results in more solid hooksets. Im just suggesting other options to try.
To be honest, I get a great hook up ratio the way I have my set up. I know people who also love the snell knot and swear by it. This was just a quick run down to get started. Thanks you for the good tip!

+The Cajun Angler We have the same result. Everyone has their preferences and if you are comfortable with it that's all that matters. Tight lines!

why wouldnt you use a snell knot for better hook ups?
MrMbell27 a lot of people use a snell knot with a lot heavier weights
Only use snell knot!
Why not a snell knot?
I wish someone looked at me the way you look at the weight!
If you could get as hard and perform as well as that sweet tungsten... Maybe they would my man.
use a snell not when punching. it will make the hook stand out and get more hookups. otherwise awesome video
