Last year I gave all my records away to the local jazz society except one, I couldn't bring myself to part with it even though I have no where to play it, Kenny Wheelers 'Music for large and small ensembles'.
This is brilliant, thanks a lot! Those tunes "A Little Piece" and "Blain Place" are new for me.. Kenny was a genius and one of my very favorite musicians.
Superb, a timely reminder of Kenny's talent as a musician, composer and leader. I still find it hard to accept that he is gone but his legacy lives on; I hear his compositions all the time, played by succeeding generations of musicians from all over the world. I remember listening to this broadcast back in the day so I feel quite nostalgic hearing this ; I seem to remember having tape issues when I tried to record this off the BBC broadcast! Thank you for this wonderful upload Mike.
