I remember when I first started playing computer games when I was around 3-5, best times of my life. I think that's why I have such a nostalgic mindset.
Reminds me of my first computer story we bought in 1995 from Office Depot. This computer was a Packard Bell Legend 406 CD or something in a 4x4 desktop format. I also rebought this computer after seeing your youtube videos.
I have watched many of your videos. I'm a bit older born in 1986 and have also been a computer geek my whole life. My 1st was a Commodore 64 and then a Windows 3.11/ DOS machine built by an Uncle in the early 90's. I remember being so excited when I got a Windows 95 machine with a Pentium 133MHz and High Color so I could play games like Tomb Raider and look at photos on the Internet without severe degradation. Now I think back to what a dinosaur that is compared to my i7 3.4GHz w/ 2GB GTX video.
My first computer that I remember was an Apple Macintosh, which I don´t remember at that time. But my parents already used other computers before, because my father worked with computers at his work. And then, we got a custom build pc with Windows 95, and the we upgraded it to Windows 98. My first game were Lemmings, and Simcity, if I don´t remember badly. But one of my favourites it´s Age Of Empires. I now have the Gold Edition.
My dad's first computer was a Packard Bell 822CDT. But sadly, it's motherboard died almost 4 and half years ago because it had bad circuit capacitors. It came with Windows 3.1 but my dad got it upgraded to Windows 95, then Windows 98. It sat in a closet for nearly 11 years. Then when we finally got it out and booted it up to visit some good memories of older games and the computer itself, a few capacitors just exploded while the machine was on just a few days after we got it out of the closet.
Reminds me of my first PC(that I ever used). All I could remember that it was custom built desktop PC with a "Tomato" motherboard, plain white case, Pentium 3, TV analogue tuner card and Windows 98 SE. I liked playing with the switch on the power supply, and pestering my siblings to let me watch TV on the PC instead of me throwing remotes at the projection TV in the living room below(I was like 4 then, but the TV didn't get much damage). Yes we had one of our cable TV boxes hooked up to our PC.
Awesome video! Your videos insired me to find my childhood computer. I think it was a Packard Bell Legend 402 or 406 CD 4x4 desktop. I completely agree that old PC games are the best like Graham Wilson's Ultimated Haunted House from around 1995!
Yeah, even coming out of never owning a Packard Bell, I can see why they had a magic to you that wasn't in most other computers -- they went in a different direction than most vendors, and sure they probably did pioneer the bloatware, but it was good bloatware, not 10-minute trials. My dad thankfully saw value in my old computers and I still own mine to this day, but apart from sentimental value there isn't much going for it (besides having the highest end 486 processor and a 5.25 floppy drive).
The very first screen saver I ever saw was on my very first computer, the Packard Bell on Windows 98. It was the 3D Flowerbox screen saver. Which came with the operating system.
nice story billy sadly my packard bell istart 2479 having issues with unexpected shutdowns

Sorry Billy but, I couldn't help but to laugh when you said when you heard of the computer, you thought it was a robot that shoots lasers.

You make me want to find out which computer we had back during my childhood now. We have it on film, so I suppose I could find out.
Billy this video is amazing!
My 1st PC was a PB650cd. I now run a eMachines W3410 with Puppy Linux in the place of Windoze-XP.
What year was the computer in this UA-cam video given to you?
What an emotional story Billy :(
I don't know how long how its been since I've seen that colorful Windows logo screensaver. There are also plenty of PC games that arent FPS.
Nice
What you could understand at the age of 5 is something i couldn't understand now :P
