- The crew of STS-70 practices bail-out procedure training at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
Shuttlesource is a space shuttle video archive featuring rare and exclusive video from the program’s 30-year history. Relying on private and NASA sourced video, this is a project to restore and digitize this historical treasure for all to enjoy.
With over 1,000 hours of video still to be released, the video archive will offer perspective on every shuttle mission from astronaut training, briefings, mission operations, orbiter preparations and news media coverage as a snapshot in time.

Stupid PR stunt putting on the bailout system. If the orbiter was stable enough and at an adequate altitude to bailout, then why would they bailout?
Designed for if they maybe had to do an emergency de-orbit and couldn’t make it to a run way. Just a glider remember.
