Lava shark bitey and burny would make a great tee shirt, love it. I also love that paper I use it for Christmas cards every year. Thanks for the smiles Becky.

Heheh, I'm glad Lava Shark is so popular - he was pure randomness! That glitter paper is awesome, and I'm sure any watercolours will work well on it. 😊
Love Lava Shark! Would LOVE to see you do more “edgy” stuff, maybe Unicorn vs Lava Shark vs Lava Octopus (Lavtopus?) Seriously, thanks for the video, it was a fun l’il adventure
It was so worth it to watch this video. Not for the paint, I have a no-more-paint spending stop. But the lava shark is awesome 🦈😞Anyway, thanks for the video 🥰
For some reason your video didn't come up today in my recommended videos. I had to search you, as I know your schedule. Anyway letting you know just in case others have same issue and your stats are down, so you know why. YT is annoying sometimes to us creators. Even some much larger creators have been having that issue. I love the idea of glitter paper ❤ What a beautiful set of colour. They're all so bright and pretty.
I always go to the Subscription tab, as that's where all of the new videos will pop up from anyone I'm subscribed to. The recommended video page is quite unreliable. 😭 I was very happy with all of the supplies today; the paints and paper are really high quality. ❤
Omg lava shark I love him 😂💖 and thank you for comparing the paint, I did hear somewhere that the fixed the formula a bit in the newer generation but I use their ooold set and I still love them so much and they work wonderfully 🥰
@@BeckyTregear it is really pretty and it’s better used for creations that aren’t under glass. I painted a cute little floral piece on it and framed it…glitter was muted under the glass. I have used it for floral cards, butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs. Ooooohhhh….you should do a unicorn on it!
LAVA SHARK ! I got my ticket ready: when the premiere of the movie ? Seriously though: great art as always and if you wanna do a print out of your original character i'll be the first to buy a few. Cheers from Italy. Dan 🧡
I love the lava shark! Yet your husband's idea is not bad either, lets give him a challenge, shall we? Unicorn with one of you using 4th, one of you using 5th gen w/c. The test paper did remind me of a volcano, so the lava shark was very welcome
Thank you - Lava Shark was an unexpected surprise. Nick refuses to do art, lol! But yes I'd like to paint a unicorn on glitter paper so that has to happen at some stage.
Hi, Becky! Your joy on opening that pretty tin is infectious - I had a big smile, sensing that joy! The rushes in the foreground of the sunset absolutely made that painting, The second one - Lava Shark and your commentary was superb. It's so _goood_ when imagination takes over, isn't it! I agree with other comments: Lava Shark needs companions, and LavOctopus, LavaFish, Lava Seahorse, LavaCrab and their friends and relations are already standing by your shoulder waiting for you to bring them to life. I think that it creates real difficulties with all these different generations following each other fairly close upon one another, and I find myself wishing that the company would take more time in the research, process and testing stages, so that they get it right before release. How many artists are out there, buying these 'new' generations, only to discover the same colours, pigmets that they already have and have been happy with? Watching your side by side work, I saw plus and minus on both palettes, some better, some not so good - especially that red, which looked far more vibrant in the 4th than in the 5th. Finishing on a positive, though, I agree, from what I have seen on ArtTube of Paul Reubens products, that apart from the generation thing, they do seem to be good paints. 😊 Edited for typing errors.
I agree that the multi-generational thing gets very confusing! I think 4th and 5th are very similar to each other so I'll just use the 4th gen tubes to fill up any 4th or 5th gen pans that run low. Honestly how soon is that going to happen though, when I have so many paints to get through in my collection? 😂 I'm really happy with their products so far though; that paper was astonishingly great! I've already done another lava-shark sketch in one of my books so it's still on my mind. More characters are needed, for sure!
Lava shark is the best! Do do do do do do do! lol Okay, the want monster finally got his way over these! I got the bundle where for less than $10 more, it also includes a 100% cotton watercolor journal or block. I let the want monster have his way because I don't have any Paul Rubens paints and of course, now I can make my own lava shark.... all proceeds will go to the Lava Shark Conservatory in your name. 🤣🦈
Lava Shark definitely needs friends! Want Monster can be very demanding at times, but I think in this case, the demands are fair. I hope you love your new watercolour goodies! I don't own any of their journals, but if the glitter paper is anything to go by, those should be great too!
@@BeckyTregear I have had a couple of the journals and they all seem to be hot press, so I don't think they would be something you would enjoy as much as I do. I love them for plein air because I do line and wash or gouache. I find hot press much better for that situation. But if it's a straight up watercolor piece, I am in agreement that cold press is the way to go, especially with anything that granulates. OMG, you had me laughing today, btw. Bitey and burney.....haha And I totally LOL'd when you said something about human error that you can't make go away. Hahaha..... That is my life!
