Man I started watching Nardwuar in the late 90s/early 2000’s.. my aunt used to work with him on MuchMusic she was the Director of Electronic Media Art for Universal Music Record Company from 1989-2007. But I never ever thought that Nardwuar would be relevant as he is, or even still around at this point in this day and age. He’s a legend, and realistically probably one of the best journalist/interviewers of all time. His extensive research, his passion and knowledge, the character he built, his personality, his energy.. it will never be matched or duplicated. KEEP ON ROCKIN’ IN THE FREE WORLD ANDDD, DOOT DOOLA DOOT DOO..........

I was lucky enough to meet Nardwuar around ten years ago, on the steps of the SUB at UBC, and he actually *did* have a gift for me. I mentioned that I'd ordered his DVDs a few years prior but lost the novelty pen that came with them, and he disappeared back into the building and returned with a replacement pen for me. I kept trying to pass him the joint I had going, but he politely declined each time. What really blew my mind was when I told him we'd spoken over email years prior (I sent him a bootleg of a Minor Threat show mentioned in his Ian Mackaye interview) and he immediately went "Oh yes, I remember I listened to that recording while I was shoveling snow, you sent it on [exact date] and that was the day North Vancouver recieved [exact amount] of snow and..." The guy truly has a photographic memory.
