Recently discovered your channel and just want to say you’re a magnificent player, such a confident soloistic tone, but also clearly a very passionate and talented teacher. Thank you for the great content!
Great video! Have you looked into the Potpourri? It's not just another name for the same piece. The Fantasie, which was published around 1900 (long after Hummel died), is a massively cut version of the Potpourri, both in terms of length and orchestration. The Potpourri, which is Hummel's original version, is around 19 minutes, but the Fantasie is only 7 or 8 minutes long. The Potpourri even has a really cool string quartet fugue in the middle. You should check it out if you're not familiar with it.
Lovely piece. Well I couldn’t find the note you said you missed, but perhaps it was in the passage around 3:42~3:44( and I chose that because of you facial expression not the sound ). I really like how balanced the Warchal strings are, I’ve been listening to a lot of string demos to choose strings to try on an upcoming viola acquisition (also looking for some cello strings; so many l’ve listed too have such an unbalanced/unfocused , just loud and rumbly C string ). Do you have a luthier you recommend in the DFW area?
A) This. More of this. I love hearing your dialogue - sweetly here, aggressive there - these are the things. I want to hear what's coming out of your brain.
I'm not sure which edition you're using, but there's also a French edition that includes a cadenza before launching into the 6/8 section. And as others have mentioned, the Potpourri is NOT the same piece; it's quite a bit more extensive.

Glad it is helpful to you! Next time I’ll put some lh!!
Thank you for the lesson. I love this piece. Do you think I am up to it if I have played Suite Hebraique and Schubert Adagietto?

The warchal amber strings are great. Especially I LOVE the way they look!! It seems trivial. But they give me confidence!
la siento muy divertida, cómo se estudian los adornos y apoyaturas para que salgan así de exactas?
I count them out.. So that they fit with the time
It would help if your video showed the fingering you are using.

Yes there is the potpourri and there is run for a cadenza. I choose not to play the cadenza in this piece! Thank you for such a detailed response
Which edition do you recommend?
I use the French version. I can’t place the name!
@@RonaldHouston Probably Oubradous.
What type of chin-rest are you using there?
That is a Frisch and Denig. It is wonderful!
@@RonaldHouston I'm seeing them everywhere but locally in Saskatchewan. Now that I have a name to go on . . .
Hola! Que tipo de cuerda usas?
I’ve been using warchal amber strings. Lately.. I also use thomastik rondo strings!!
