There was some censorship with regards to his dance moves that is why he has to make it as subtle as possible. Who among artist nowadays who would say “God bless you as you bless me”

Elvis had every talent as an entertainer to have. No body else has ever had all his talents in one package..and yes beauty is a talent too. He had it all.

I saw him in Vegas for my 21st Birthday. We were first row center. He had it all. My mother even
liked him. She said "'he is so handsome". UNDER statement. Just WOW.

After the end of his performance went back stage n asked the guys " why were the girls screaming? They said " just keep doing it" I have listened to Elvis since 1956 n yes im old now but Elvis music keeps me young. I did get to one concert Aloha concert 1973 n sat 3rd row center n couldn't take my eyes off of him.i was 21 n even stood up on the chair to throw him a kiss n I think he saw me as he gave me a wink.I never got to meet him but became friends with Charlie Hodge his confidant and best friend who lived at his Graceland home in Memphis. He gotto know the human side of him. Elvis read the Bible everyday n sometimes sang gospel songs all night long his ex-wife said Before every show he was very nervous so would have the guys sing some gospel songs to relax him. Charlie said Elvis memorized the whole Bible He sang around 500 songs react to Bridge Over Troubled Water Vagus 1970, You Gave Me A Mountain Aloha concert 1973, Polk Salad Annie Vagus 1970, Suspicious Minds Vagus 1970, Just Pretend Vagus 1970 n the best is American Trilogy Aloha concert 1973( he did a rehearsal show but the one that was broadcasted around the world and seen by 1.5 Billion people is the best I could write you a book RIP Elvis n my friend Charlie. They are together in Heaven singing to God n All the Angels. I love your channel n Elvis is looking down n saying " great job my friends "

    Hello from England
ELVIS died 2 days before my 12th birthday, August 16th 1977. I have been a FAN ever since
Watching a lot of videos about Elvis and his "backstory" the make me think so much more about the years that have passed. For this clip 65 years OH MY
By the time "HOUND DOG" was released ELVIS had MADE IT BIG at the age of just 2. He had RICHES beyond comprehension.
Not only did he appear on the ED SULLIVAN show, and at that time they only filmed him from the waist UP but he also appeared in the same year 1956 on the Steve Allen show and he actually SANG TO A HOUND DOG..
Bless him. They made him do some silly things BUT ELVIS MADE IT LOOK COOL!!!

His hairstyle was a pompadour. Over the years he had many different pompadour styles. My favorite is the one in 68 special

Great reaction! I see very few reactions to many of the songs that Elvis sang at the beginning of his career, and these are the ones that brought a whole new style to music and made him a superstar. If you'd like to check out some early Elvis, the first record of his that was ever played on the radio and became instantly popular in 1954 (1) Elvis Presley - That's All Right (2:00). His first record to sell a million copies was (2) Elvis Presley - Heartbreak Hotel Live (1956) (2:06). A good rock 'n roll song is (3) Elvis Presley "Ready Teddy" on The Ed Sullivan Show (2:03). And Elvis in black leather in 1968 is a must-see for the lady (4) Elvis Presley One Night With You (3:03).

Elvis looked at his revolution as a YOUTH REVOLT. Without saying it, THIS was Elvis. And he was hoping that YOUNG PEOPLE could make the world a better place in the future. Then the 1960s came and the Civil Rights Movement was on. But many historians could tie back to Elvis, youth and the 1950s for the birth of that movement. NO DOUBT Muhammad Ali and MLK discussed just this reality with Elvis privately back then. "YOUNG PEOPLE could make the world a better place in the future." --- hell, we are STILL saying that. I think Elvis should be recognized as one of the first white people of fame or power to get the world TOGETHER. Perhaps he is STILL SUCCEEDING in his dream.

Elvis's initial sound was the fusion of white country and bluegrass with black blues. Revelatory and progressive. Very punkish and exciting.
And then his chameleon voice changed multiple times in his very very short life and career.

OMG! he took alot of flack for daring to dance like this while he sang. Parents were trying to have him banned and arrested. Back in the day you werent allow to do this, so he was a real trail blazer!

I always find this fascinating. I'm not sure how old he was here but he might have been as young as 20 or 21. It was before he went in the Army for sure. And it was such a white world at the time. It's rare to see footage from that early where he's doing all his hip shaking and everything because it was considered too black and also highly sexually suggestive.. Ed Sullivan was one of the few that said he didn't care and was going to show it and it always worked out well. Elvis was such the athlete. Check out some of those moves or he's doing a sideways moonwalk decades before it got popularized by Michael Jackson and then there are the certain moments where he uses his core strength to go up on his toes and actually hold it for a few seconds while he's still in the middle of her performance. That guy was a true athlete for sure.
