- Now its time to refinish the Outboard Motor and get it installed on the boat. We first removed the old decals from the motor and sanded it smooth. Then we did several coats of primer. After some light sanding, we next applied several coats of black paint. Finally we did several coats of clear coat.
Then it was time to hang it on the transom. With the help of a winch, I mounted it and secure the bolts with 3M 5200.
It's all starting to come together...great job. Can't wait to see the maiden voyage.
Thank you! Slowly but surely getting there
Just found your videos of this project. Went back and watched all of them to get caught up. It's turning out really nice. Good luck with rest. Great content. -
Thank you! Still more to come... its slow going but we're making progress.
Looks great. I have the same motor….I sure like how easy it is to work on. Not sure i would want to buy something newer and more difficult to work on
I was surprised how easy it is… this was my first time working on one. I’d definitely buy another!
Any more updates it’s been a while since last upload. Hope all is well
Ugh, I know - its been a while. I am done filming the next part (Electrical Wiring)... I just have to edit it. I hope to have it posted soon!
Why did you want to remove the graphics?
Force is a shotty brand…but at this stage of the motor…it is mostly a mercury.
Around 11-12mins when the motor shifted I could feel your fear 😨
