Speed Racer from 2008, speaking of the Wachowskis. Nothing really guilty about it, I just love it - big, colourful, silly movie, with a big, earnest story about family and love and stuff.
as a horror fan, the first resident evil movie holds a spot... even though I hate every other movie in that series. Also Thirteen Ghosts, House on Haunted Hill & Ghost Ship are all mad throwbacks to the cheese of late 90's/early 00's campy horror.
And just ran with ridiculous CGI that was not the least bit believable or convincing. I have a bit of a soft spot for that kind of adventurous indulgence but I'm glad that period is over.
Dylan's main trademark is that she always falls for the Bad Guy. Which makes all the more sense with why she kissed the Thin Man. But originally the Thin Man was going to kiss Alex.
You’re misplacing the credit. McG is referencing Hong Kong action movies in these Charlie’s Angels films. Matrix is also inspired by eastern martial arts cinema, but many of the scenes from these are straight out of Kung Fu movie stereotypes and resemble them far more than they do the Matrix.
I remember seeing both of the Charlie's angel's movies a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed them had a great cast in them too also Happy New Year hope you had a lovely one 💙
Also, this movie had a lot of cameos. I think the DVD set I had mentions every cameo, and not just the ones you saw. What's funny about the Nun scene is that it's filmed at the Playboy Mansion, hence why a few boys had those magazines haha.
Every action movie from that era was influenced by Yuen Wo-ping's fight scene style because of the popularity of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and The Matrix and frankly i kinda miss it. Now all the fight scenes in action movies are Krav Maga. And thats cool too, in its own way but i miss the kung-fooeyness of the early 2000s.
I think this is my absolute favourite of your reviews!! You've obviously seen the movie a lot and you still had so much fun watching it!! Amazing 10/10
I seriously love both original Charlie’s Angels movies. Like I can’t pick whether it’s Sam Rockwell villain or Demi Moore villain. 2000 action vs. Full Throttle action! LIKE I CAN’T! The answer is both. I love those two movies up ‘till now. Great to see people who love the original Charlie’s Angels films. P.S: The ‘Jaclyn Smith’ cameo as ‘Kelly Garrett’ in Full Throttle is phenomenal.
From the original show to these movies, it was a nice way of introducing new audiences to Charlie's Angels. They tried to reboot it again with another show, but that didn't last long. BUT then in 2019, there was the infamous return of Charlie's Angels back on the big screen. I heard the new movie was set in the same continuity as the previous films and the original show, not a reboot film.
Happy New Year, Nici! I've actually never seen Charlie's Angels haha I've heard different things about these movies but I guess people mostly enjoy them. Not the new one tho 😂
Happy new year! If you feel like watching ridiculous 2000s movies I recommend them. But yeah they’re pretty crappy and I mainly enjoy them because of nostalgia haha
Loved this movie. I wish it had gotten a third to have Bernie and Shia in it. Plus these were great guilty pleasure movies. I kinda want you to roast the new one😂
The conceptual idea of _Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle_ worked, however, its execution and casting is what failed the franchise. Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu still had their incredible chemistry as Angels, and the return of Jaclyn Smith made it even more special. Demi Moore worked in terms of casting, however, I genuinely believe her casting overpowered the film, and it ultimately is what turned people off from the film, as well. Despite all of this, it is still a fantastic sequel that I do love, and the 2017 series and 2019 film failed to achieve the same kind of magic the original series and these two films did capture.
I really would love to know how the pitch for the 3rd movie (the Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Stewart one) got greenlit, since from what I’ve read, even Sony seemed scared of that movie’s box office performance doing bad. Also, you should review the kill bill movies, those are so good and they have a over the top level of violence Yet, somehow, it’s kinda classy at the same time thanks to Tarantino writhing, directing and camera work
I have seen both and they are really good, i liked Bill Murray as Bosley and Lucy Liu looked amazing as always. I'm still a huge fan of the TV show and the first seasons with the Angels, Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith and later Cheryl Ladd.
Completely off topic so apologies but you deserve to know that your hair is great. On topic: another fun reaction, sing/dance alongs are hilarious, always enjoy your analysis of these films. Lol
Happy New Year Nic, love your reaction videos i have watched many . I was wondering as i looked through your list of watched films on Letterbox if you have seen The Witches Of Eastwick movie and Heathers, i would love to see you do a reaction to both these films as i have never seen anyone do reactions to these movie .
🔥ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME!🔥 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 The fight scenes are WONDERFUL! The comedy is HILARIOUS! The acting is on point! *(have you done the first one?)*
Just a note, but Charlie’s Angels actually started off as a tv series in the 70s, but I get where you’re coming from. There are definitely Matrix vibes.
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were divorced by this point, but I do think they still were on good terms, so it wouldn't surprise me if this cameo was Demi's doing, which is awesome. The only thing I didn't like about this movie was that in the advertising for this movie, Demi revealed she was going to be a 'bad' angel and that would have upsetted me a bit, but in the movie they do make it obvious she's the main bad guy before her reveal.
uggh i love these so much! ive been waiting for this since ur first one! I agree with you that the first one is still my favorite, but the second one is so great. (also i was quoting all of those lines right along with you!!) "Chinese fighting muffins."
I really enjoyed both movies. Especially since I was a young teen when they came out. Full throttle is the reason why I was really into Cameron diaz for a while.
Mission: Impossible 2 is worth a look, much like Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle it’s over-the-top, bombastic, and silly. But in a good way. Plus, great Hans Zimmer score. :)) Happy New Year!
Your RATM jamming makes me heart you even more Nic! Damn it....you and your entertaining naturalistic charisma! Lol 😝 Also I love how the Nuns convent at 12:58 is actually the PLAYBOY mansion! 🤣🤪 ......and yes, you’re right, the Angels makeup game (especially eyes) is on point. I miss the bright, shimmering and unapologetically bold makeup vibes of the 2000’s.
I literally waited to watch your commentary on this because I had to watch it over just like you did lol. I know I'm very late. I honestly didn't think anyone else liked these 2 movies. I've always heard people hate them. But I definitely didn't care. It's so over the top and Ludacris it's good. And as you said the music slaps because 90s 2000s. The looks for the girls are amazing. Which comes to the main point. Like these movies/ this universe the girls are like superheroes. Compared to regular people. Thus the surviving of insane crashes and wire-fu fights. Since I was in high school and I’m 31 now! I love this movie so much!!! The opening scene felt right out of like a 007 James Bond video game scene!!! The fighting scenes were everything! Got me pumping like I wanted to fight the bad guys too! Lol the end scene that car scene omg is just beautiful too! Ugh I love this movie sooo much! I’m obsessed and so happy someone finally made a reaction to this movie!!!! Best Charlie’s Angels Ever! Period! 💖💖💖
without the wire work, Lucy Liu is the most beliveble "fighter" in the movie. Drew.. we all love Drew but her fighting scenes are so... meh. While most people were drooling on Rodrigo... i still think Justin was the men of this movie. Demi was so beautiful even more when she was young, and gived that Charlie Speech with so emotional rage. Honestly i would like to have a Madison vs Dyllan, Madison vs Alex, Madison vs Natalie (while each one loses the figth against her) and then the girls team up to beat Madison. It would reforce the idea that Angels are a team.

I love this Nici. I do like the first one better though. The use of wirework, just doing it for fun I thought was very innovative. They all would have had to train for the action sequences. I like to think that Drew Barrymore was the reason it had martial arts in it since she produced and starred in it, at least she must've had creative input and approved the style of film making.
"Everyone has that one movie that they just love despite it being a really dumb movie." Yep. For me it's Commando starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. "Could you imagine being an extra in that scene and being paid to sit and watch women strip all day long?" Been there, done that. Twice actually. Once in a Canadian crime drama called "Davinci's Inquest" in an episode where a dancer at The No. 5 Orange (a famous strip club in Vancouver BC) was murdered. Then again in an episode of "The Dead Zone" where John has a vision of a stripper being murdered and he's trying to prevent the crime from happening (that one was filmed on a sound stage where they actually built a strip club set rather than renting one of the existing local strip clubs for the day). "Why did Drew Barrymore fall for the assassin?" Because her character ALWAYS falls for the bad boys. The badder they are, the harder she falls.
What's your fun guilty pleasure 2000s movie?

@@damienjohn It's so good. There is no film that cannot be improved by having John Goodman bodyslam a ninja.
I just realized the reason Drew Barrymore likes creepy thin man is because like they said she always falls for the bad guy(s) 😂
Back when Hollywood made unapologetically dumb over the top movies.
Like Adam Sandler?
Like Wonder Woman 84

Crispin Glover (“creepy McFly”) does mainstream movies like this to fund his own independent movies which he tours around the country.
