An hour long?! I could cryyyy thank you Fern!!!! Ugh so ready to grab my coffee and watch this while tending to my plants!☺️❤️I JUST found a peace lily domino and to say I’m excited is an understatement. Your content is the absolute best dude thank you!!
What I do for my succulents is I let the soil get bone dry then flood it because that how they get watered in the wild and they love it and when I water I mix some succulent plant food with the water and they are doing great so thats what works for me good luck
Terrarium begonias are a lot easier than you’d think, just get them in a terrarium, even a fish tank with sphagnum! In my experience, they don’t really need air flow, just as close to 100% humidity as you can get. They don’t dry out fast in those conditions, so I’ll just open my terrarium every once in a while to water when the moss/soil looks a little dry
You are GLOWING. You just look so full of light and I know there’s been a lot going on in your life lately. I hope you are actually feeling as good as you look!
No better way to spend Friday night after work than eating pizza and watching Fern talk about plants!! An hour long? What did we do to deserve such goodness? Keep being your awesome self plant friend!!
The darth will melt if you don’t damn near suffocate it. Keep it at or near 100% at all times, don’t concern yourself with burping it, just try to recreate a bog or swamp environment for it and it’ll love you.
You are plant goals! I wish my windows had nice ledges like yours. That would give me more room for more plants! Love your page, Fern. Your videos bring me so much joy!
So, I had similar feelings about my r. decursiva - it didn’t do a thing for the longest time except lose a leaf. But then out of nowhere, a growth point started to emerge! And just a few days ago it finally unfurled the most beautiful, mature leaf with lots of fenestrations. The wait was worth it, 100%. Don’t lose hope!
I love your tour and plants! Btw, I'm having amazing success with string of hearts in perlite! Just cut pairs of leaves with a node and put on top of moist perlite and press down a little. Keep moist and wait, it only takes a few days for me usually until they root and put out new shoots :)
I think the Calathea white star is kinda tricky. A, it's beloved by spidermites and the rather thin leaves are ruined easily. But B, it's quite finicky when it comes to humidity. It might be too moist in your cabinet. Mine is fine in ambient humidity around 60%. The roots are also sensitive. If you don't find any pests, these kinda translucent looking spots are probably from excess water. Mine got these spots on the old leaves and had new leaves come in with translucent, super thin tips that ended up crisping off. I didn't want mine to get stressed from repotting. Scrunching/Squeezing (?) the plastic pot it's in (after each watering) to loosen up the soil and allow for aeration did the trick for me. The pot got quite full and I think the problem will resolve itself that way, but I would recommend a soil mix with a lot of perlite (as long as you're not a chronic underwaterer) 😊 Hope you don't let that throw you off from getting one, once you know it has needs a bit "more specific" than most Calatheas, it's not a complicated plant. And it's soo gorgeous, especially when the big leaves!
You have such beautiful plants, and it’s obvious that they are well loved! I love how you enjoy even the weird ones that need a little help. And that you just keep working with them until you figure out what they like best in order to grow and thrive. A true and sincere plant lover! It takes a lot of dedication to care for that many plants. Best of luck to you!
Im pretty sure it is a silver stripe!! I think the difference is the stripe in a brasil is lime and in a silver stripe lighter? The leaves of the brasil are also a little bit more round
Yeah, I think so too. But sometimes my basil throws out leaves that look really light like this so I second guess myself! But you're exactly right, the leaves are more elongated on the silver stripe.
This was so fun! I LOVE plant tours. I just missed your beautiful face. Seriously, your look is so good! Ink, piercings, hair, make-up. Just beautiful.
Loved your video! Your stained glass piece is the cutest. I’m hoping to add some of these babies to my collection soon. Currently I have 4 and some cutting so I’m hoping to expand the plant fam soon.
My 50th birthday was the 14th of May and I treated myself to several wish-list plants including a Hayi, a large Hoya Kerrii, a Hoya Australis and a Raindrop Peperomia. Thank you for this awesome video - you kept me company while I re-potted my new friends! I wish we could share pictures on here because I have a Silver Stripe that I'm not sure about either. When you set it next to my Brazil there's no doubt it's a different plant. But as I examine it on it's own I have doubts. I don't know how we will ever know for sure.....but I love the plant either way! Have a great week, Fern!
I would say you need airflow for your terrarium plants. Generally good airflow and control of humidity are the most important factors for terrarium plants, if you don’t have a beneficial clean up crew, having airflow is really helpful.
Hey Fern! I think the reason your F. Audrey isn't putting out new leaves might be because its crown is burried, I noticed it was in its video and usually it alters growth so hopefully that helps! ♥️
💚💫hello Fern!!! your plant collection is so beautiful and inspiring 😇😇😇 gorgeous!!! love your content so much 😇 i absolutely love your wall-hanging propagation stations 🤩 i also am highly interested in your pon experiments!!! blessings from Sacramento CA!!! 🌞💫💚
You say that you are bad for not re-potting new plants 🌵 right away, BUT your plants 🪴 probably love you for it, nice way for them to acclimatize to their new homes. I LOVE your repotting videos though, hint hint 😉
Pressed send before I was done, lol. . . Love a long video 🪴 like this once in awhile! Nice way to relax with my cup of coffee ☕️ . You make me want to try some cactus 🌵 now too!
So I just have to tell you that I loved seeing all of your plants! It give me life and helps me decide my next wish list plant! You have to know tho that I freaked out when you said that your roommate was named Hillary! Aaahhh! I thought to myself I knew I like her for more then just a fellow plant lover!
Fern, you should maybe try kieke paste on your monstera that you're debating cutting!! I just started trying it and it's amazing. Would be cool because you could avoid cutting it and still make it fuller/more sightly!! 😊😊💞🪴🌱
Feel like I’ve been waiting for this video! Also great nails In this. I got a zigzag cactus yesterday . Had never seen it before and now I’ve seen your beautiful one !
Nice video! Do you have plants that you would recommend propagating in water/perlite/leca/pon? Maybe you can do one video about when to use which kind of substrate? 💚💚
Okay I literally thought I was the only one with a chaotic plant collection with multiple mediums and pests and problem children 😭 I feel better thank u
Following as my G. Warscewiczii and G. Zebrina also have the spots. They happened after getting spidermites and using a home made insecticide(I think the rubbing alcohol did it).
@@emmamurphy7317 Thank you for the info! I have read since there's a lot of things(sun/overwatering/pests/leaves holding moisture/temp or draft) that seem to be able to do this to calatheas so it's hard to track down exactly what it is without limiting and trying to check off each thing one by one. I hope we all figure out what it is for our plants and can help them heal!!!❤️ I will let you know if I find an answer.😊
I would literally do anything for a variegated maranta cutting I haven’t stopped thinking about yours since I saw it in one of your vids last year, gotta track one down Also loved seeing your plants!! I’m obsessed! 💞
My decursivas are in a SE window and I water them when the leaves curl and no runner issues! I’m in oregon so maybe a similar climate? Just my experience!!! ❤️❤️
Hello lovely! Just wondering if yo could possibly do some more plant care videos based on specific plants you haven't done yet?¿ love your videos so much I'm always learning something new and it's always such a nice vibe🤗💚
Does your Philo Painted Lady put out aerial roots with each new leaf?? Mine is literally throwing them out everywhere and they're super long!! The plant isn't even big enough to climb yet though, soooo... 😂
16:50 SO TRUE My calathea ''dies'' every winter and is just chilling as a little clumb of roots. Other people would have thrown it out, and I actually almost did, until I removed the soil from the roots and saw a little shhot from the roots! Pretty crazy considering I hadn't watered for months....?? (I kinda acted like it wasn't there. I couldn't accept it's parting haha)
I was glad to see your Pitcher Plant. Does it get to feed much? It looks very healthy. Mine almost died but came back to life. I am hoping it gets some more pitchers soon.
I just found out I have a brain tumor and when I tell you this is the only thing to bring me joy in days, I mean it! 🙏🏼💕
Sending you so much love Katie ❤️🥺
I feel for you!! Stay strong...
Sending you love, stay strong
Praying for you Katie! ❤️🌱🌿🪴

My new favorite saying 🤣
Cactus vs succulents care video! How to figure out when it’s safe to water cacti
Yes, great video idea, I second this ✅

my wishlist 📈 after watching this video 😂

I love how you show what it's really like to own plants and that everyone messes up at some point.

that corner with Greta and all the trailing vines with the mood lighting is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!

Thank you for actually *talking* about each of the plants, this was a blast to watch :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was a PERFECT houseplant tour. Informative but not dragging on for each plant. Loved it and your planties!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it.
Loved this video!
I’m currently dealing with a spider mite outbreak… it’s my first pest situation and I hate it 😓😂

Thanks for saying which way your windows face!! I always find that so helpful :)
For your monstera albo you can put a bucket of water and put the longer aerial roots in the bucket full of water and that should improve growth on it!
So interesting about the begonia in terracotta versus plastic, good to know!
Wow your plants are gorgeous 😍 I can’t imagine keeping up with these many plants & varieties but you do it so well! I love your videos Fern 💟

love your videos and so excited for this plant tour! you’re the 1st plant content creator i watched that got me into plants last October :)
Nice work Svetlana 💖, You arranged the plants nicely 💚👍
Loved this...been waiting on this one 🙌🏾 Loving your starfish, raven, jades, big euphorbia and Greta of course lol
Air layer the heck outta the albo!! that would be so cool!
I'm still so in love with your nails haha

Yaay🥰 I have been waiting whole day for this!
Awww this made me smile, enjoy!!
Omgggg at work right now & im so excited I’ve been looking fwd to this video 🥰
Hey! I think your Calathea Whitestar has those black spots because of irregularly watering. Watering him more often should help :)
Hey Fern! I think the reason your F. Audrey isn't putting out new leaves might be because its crown is burried, I noticed it was in its video and usually it alters growth so hopefully that helps! ♥️
Oh thank you!! I will check it out :)
Awesome tour be blessed keep growing

I am NOT a cacti girl...but I NEED a fluffy Prickly Pear 'Snow' after this video! ADORBS!
I love your videos so much, I often care for mine while watching yours. You have a really relaxing voice. :)
You say that you are bad for not re-potting new plants 🌵 right away, BUT your plants 🪴 probably love you for it, nice way for them to acclimatize to their new homes. I LOVE your repotting videos though, hint hint 😉
Just pop a lid on the soh propagations in moss, like you have for your cactus
Pressed send before I was done, lol. . . Love a long video 🪴 like this once in awhile! Nice way to relax with my cup of coffee ☕️ . You make me want to try some cactus 🌵 now too!
I watch your video and I found my inspiration.

waited to watch when I had the time to just sit down and enjoy your video. well worth the wait :) thank you as always
Such a great video! Does anyone know the name of the pot style that the adansonii cutting in Leca is called? I’ve been looking for them everywhere!
My Calathea White Star has the exact same spots on its leaves! I think it’s normal..? But not sure haha
Following as my G. Warscewiczii and G. Zebrina also have the spots. They happened after getting spidermites and using a home made insecticide(I think the rubbing alcohol did it).
Hm, maybe. 😊 I've never had spider mites or rubbing alcohol on my plants, so it can’t be the reason in my case

Yay! That's awesome. Thanks so much for watching, Karen ☺️
I love love LOVE when you upload long videos 🥺💖
Love the euphorbia mammilaris variagta (corn cob cactus). I got one myself, but mine's still teeny tiny.
I love your videos in the morning- helps me get going with my plant chores.. Im lazyyyy :)
Your dragon tail is NOT a slow glower. It needs a stake and it grows super super fast
Check for thrips on the plant with the markings on it.
I could literally stare at your plants all day 😂
You've gotta be kidding!
My decursivas are in a SE window and I water them when the leaves curl and no runner issues! I’m in oregon so maybe a similar climate? Just my experience!!! ❤️❤️
Ahh okay thank you!!
Do you ever sell cuttings to your subscribers cuz OMG that silver stripe
AAHHH ITS 11PM RN I NEED TO SAVE THIS TILL TOMORROW

Amazing tour. 💚 FYI Walmart had Ruby Ficus this week.
Does your Philo Painted Lady put out aerial roots with each new leaf?? Mine is literally throwing them out everywhere and they're super long!! The plant isn't even big enough to climb yet though, soooo... 😂
You should put the lid on on those VSOH, believe me they will do soo much better

Pink Princess is so pretty
This is my wish plant

I was never a fan of the bear paw succulent but now that I see yours I want one. I've never seen one so big!
I REALLY enjoyed watching!! Your collection is spectacular 😍
Thank you so much!!
Hey fern, that calathea in your ikea greenhouse cabinet looks like it may have a bacterial or fungal infection... Im not 100% though!
54:03 i had the exact cactus but unknown creature ate it :( I have to get it again some time.
oh my goodness, that pig tray
Please make a care video for your thanksgiving cactus! I would love to see that!
