I’ve had a positive experience on this. My 80x was due to be returned to VWFS at the end of its lease but I wanted to get right to the last day so needed an MOT. Called the dealership to book it in and they volunteered that 3.7 was available and they’d do the upgrade while the car was in. They did say that they wanted the car for 2 days “just in case” and gave me a Cupra Born as a loan car. I wasn’t charged for this work. Admittedly I did have a new VRS due so maybe I was lucky, but it shouldn’t be assumed that you will be charged ££££ for an upgrade. Customer loyalty can play a part in how dealerships work with customers.
afraid people which are afraid to do something wrong go to the workshop but there is no reason. Just click the Update-button while your car is parking and you have min. 50 % SoC and it shouldn't be any issue. The dealer doesn't perform any miracles, he just presses the update button
@ Important news @everyone❗️ The Enyaq models with ME3.2 software and higher will receive an OTA update to ME3.7. The software update will be rolled out gradually starting this week, and the update will be released over the next five weeks. What's new for you in version 3.7? ⚡️ Powerpass Map data integrated into the navigation ⚡️ Improved availability of Lane Assist and Side Assist (depending on the level of equipment) ⚡️ Stabilization of the Infotainment system ⚡️Sound issues resolved when making hands-free calls with certain Android phones ⚡️ Improved obstacle detection when opening the boot using the remote control key ⚡️ Reduction of noise during charging caused by interference from power connectors ⚡️ Stabilization of the Top View function (depending on the level of equipment) ⚡️ Improvements to driving performance ⚡️ System optimizations and bug fixes While many of the described features may already be present for customers with 3.5 software, this update will still provide a faster and more stable system. You can also benefit from stabilizing the WLAN connection and solving the sound issues that might have occurred during hands-free calls on some smartphones running the Android operating system. I’m in no rush to get the update because I don’t think it’s going to make any difference anyway. The only thing I’m hoping for is a quicker connection to Apple CarPlay.
I have an ID5 and they sent me an email 3 weeks ago and finally downloaded the update to 3.7 last night took nearly 3.5 hrs ,not much difference to be honest only the shop has changed a bit on the display
7 weeks have come and gone again and no ME 3.7! Yes good idea with dealer upgrade but Škoda should have done a fixed price. I believe some of them going to the dealers will get ripped off. ££££££££ cost of owning a Enyaq.
@ funny just checked 27 September Škoda Lounge made the announcement. But who is counting I wrote to Klaus and have been waiting since the reply email promised below. Dear Martyn, Thank you for your email and thank you for being a Skoda customer since 2012. For us at Škoda Auto and for me personally, feedback of our customers and other stakeholders is of significant importance - be it positive or negative. We are fully aware of the issue you have raised and its importance to our customers in many markets. That’s why we introduced the pre-heating feature to our new model year of the Enyaq. Of course, we do also care about our existing Enyaq customers. Right now, we are still evaluating the possible integration of the pre-heating function for already delivered models and are closely working together with our colleagues from Volkswagen AG. Thank you for your understanding that I cannot comment on further details at this time due to the ongoing examinations. We are consistently working to improve the utility value and customer experience of our vehicles. All Enyaq models running on the ME3.x (3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.4, 3.5) software are going to receive an update to the latest software version ME3.7. Timeline is still open as well as the way how to manage the whole update (OTA, workshop). When all the tests are finished on our side, we’ll inform media and customers accordingly with the timing and procedure of the upcoming update. Wishing you happy miles, Martyn and I hope for your patience. Rest assured, all Skodians are working hard on this matter of great importance. Kind regards, Klaus Zellmer

@BlackCountryLad Škoda made their video on the same day I did, 17 October saying it would be a seven week update window with cars being done in waves. That's the date I've gone by. That letter is just the standard stock response from the PR people. But it's consistent with what we were told by the battery and software team in our meetings with them, they just gave us a bit more detail about why pre heating is difficult for the 1st generation cars.
They would've got a lot better customer loyalty by just saying well do it for free when you bring it in for service, folk would've booked in for a service and had it updated.
@@alanbutler487 but then it takes 4 or 5 hours. Much better to get people to do it at home or at work. Last thing I want to do is take my car to the garage
