Thank u for this video -Do you know in lg model V665MBL with 2 doors is the water filter external like in this video between the tubes ..or is it in the fridge somewhere ? And if it's external do i just to put in on the floor behind the fridge and the wall ?
Dear, I suspect you have a model with internal water tank, correct? In that case, just fill the water tank. In case you have a plumbing model, this video likely applies, although there may be a different connector. The external water filter can be attached somewhere on the back of your appliance by using tape. For other questions, please consult your local LG support channels and/or refer to the user manual.
Hello, my refrigerator is an LG GS65SDP1, does this filter fit it? the filter you use is an LG ADQ73693901 but I can't find it, can you help me which one you have and is compatible with any brand?
Very well explained, however pushing down to remove the hose does not work smoothly. Whether you could change something about it?we usually cut a small piece of the hose - it is still long enough.
thank you for thee feedback. Typically pushing back the restrictor works well, but your solution helps too. We'll consider to add it in an update of this video
Can I place the water filter under the kitchen sink, close to the water supply end then run a long line (5m+) to the fridge? Or is there some reason the filter should be close to the fridge itself? Amazon sell 10m water inlet extension lines which I would need to use in any case as the fridge will be on the other side of the kitchen, but I’m just wondering where the filter might be best situated. Thanks
you only replace the filter. tubes only if they are damaged and leaking. be careful removing the old filter, if you just pull out, then you cut into the tube, remove the last part with the cuts before attaching the new filter.
@@LGSAE thank you. I’m actually struggling to find the filter right now. I can’t see it anywhere inside the fridge or freezer and can’t see it behind it either 🤷♀️😂 I’m hoping it’s not boxed in behind one of my kitchen units 😬 the kitchen was fitted at the same time as getting the Fridge Freezer.
@@lovemusic8176 are you sure it is there then? If not, and you can drink the water from the tap, then do not insert a filter, as you need to replace them every 6 months, and if you forget, they will not work properly anymore.
@@LGSAE I’m not sure, still haven’t managed to find the filter 😂 but we are able to get water from the dispenser on the fridge so it is definitely plumbed in to our water tap 🤷♀️
@@lovemusic8176 We do suggest to find out if there is a filter. Main reason, if it is in there for more than 6 months, it is not active any more, and can even build up bacteria.
We just realized we had a filter ADQ73693903 and the one that ends in 01 (ADQ73693901). We had the one that ends in 01 and got the one that ends in 03 and know we can’t make it work. Please help.
It depends on the model you need. The list is rather long, and it is best to call the Contact center for the exact number. Which should also be mentioned on the filter by the way.
They now sell a smaller 1892-litre model ADQ73693901 which uses screw ends instead of clips. Shown here is the bigger 3000-litre unit 5231JA2010B. I found and bought both types on eBay. The screw-in ones feel more secure to me, and there aren't any clips to lose, although you do have to be careful with the internal plastic washer and rubber O-ring. I think it would be best if all the models use the screw ends.
Mine leaks constantly but I'm not sure why. I've pushed the tube as far is as it would go and applied he retaining clips as shown in the video yet there is still a constant drip drip drip from the inlet side.
It could be a leak in the filter or the pipe, is it cut off straight? Otherwise, how is the water pressure? Try closing the supply tap a little and see if it still leaks.
@@LGSAE I since fixed the issue by cutting the pipe to make sure the end was flush and the pipe perfectly round. I think what happens is that it is easy to deform the pipes when trying to remove the old filter. A compression fitment would be far better for this and is something I plan to put in for future filter replacements.
This video explains about the external waterfilters, connected in line with the waterline. We are working on other videos for models with internal waterfilters. These are usually placed in the door of the fridge.
That is correct, and some types require a locking piece, not all! Then you need to ensure the wiggly part is pulled out. Always check good locking by gently pulling on the pipe.
I think you should connect the first part and run the water through the filter into a bucket, to get the black out, and only then connect the second side
Excellent just what i needed. 👍🏻
useful video, Thank you
Clear and simple explination. Thank you.
Glad you liked it. enjoy your LG Refrigerator.
Saved me so much time

Thanks for this. I had been pulling at the tubes for 5 minutes until I watched this and found I had to push the retainer button in!!
Glad it helped!
I'm still struggling!
Same I cannot get the old tubes out. I'm pressing but nothing happening.

Yes you can and no, as long as the filter is between the water tap and the connection to the fridge you are okay.
@@LGSAE thanks for your answer. I’ll be doing it tomorrow. 🤞
Woowww thank you LG good job
I really need it
Can someone say what is the most compatible filter for model GS65SPP1? The original filter seems to be extinct.
Please contact your local LG support channels to receive an answer to your question, they can refer you to local retailers.

The shown filter is just an example, there are a number of similar filters that all fit to the tubes, the diameter of that is important.
Do you just replace filter onto existing tubes or do you need to replace the tubes each time you replace the filter?

Thank you. How do I reset the replace-filter indicator?
To reset the indicator, locate the button where "Filter reset" is mentioned and press-and-hold it for ~ 3 seconds.
For the water filter adq736939 what side is the input?
Hold the filter so you can read the text. The top side goes into the refrigerator and the bottom side to the water tap

New clips should be delivered with every new filter.
