- Parmigiani Fleurier has long been an excellent but underrated brand. More recently, the brand has begun to emerge as the high value, high horology value it’s always been. However, on some of the new but older models of the same quality at much lower prices are available if you know what to look for.
The new Toric and Tonda are stunning.
They are and they're expensive HRM. Take care, Bill
Fine review Bill. Thanks
Hey Jazz, thanks man! Take care, Bill
One of my favorite brands.
Loving the new content and the consistency.
Bord, do you mean the new Parmigiani consistency? Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci You are intentional about showing us deals that are realistic. Exposing your viewers to new brands
Whoever signed off the date window on the PF Sport Chrono should loose their job! It looks like a spot on a face. Remove that date window and it becomes a very nice design
Luckily I purchased the Tonda GT before that new model. Couldn’t agree more about the current date window🤷😩
I like the old date window with yesterday ... today ... and tomorrow visible, Mark. Take care, Bill.
i have the hemispheres and is absolutely beautiful. the lume is like you have an electric torch on your wrist
Beautiful Parmigiani you got there Dr.!
Thanks Javi ... I was thinking of selling it, but decided ... Not a Chance! Take care, Bill
Hey Bill, the new PF Toric is on another level to some older models. We’re hoping it depreciates like the old ones but I’m not sure it’ll reach the bargain levels you highlight here. Time will tell. All the best, Ed
Indeed the whole movement is made of gold and the hand finishing is at another level, which is certainly explaining the jump in pricing.
@@brankow434 Exactly. It’s almost an insult to suggest an old Tonda is an alternative. Would I love it to depreciate so I could afford on? Yeah, but then I think what if the cost of that was PF went out of business - as it would signal their new business model has failed - and suddenly I’m not so happy.
Hi Bill,
Nice format and great video.
One side note, the Qualité Fleurier is a much higher standard than the Geneva seal. You can find the criteria on the specific website. Unless I am mistaken the procedure is so costly that only LUC Chopard still produces some models with the QF certification at a steep premium.
Comparing all quality standards is maybe a nice subject for a future video.
Thanks!
Great video Bill. Out of the six watches presented, I own one and have had two of the others on my short list for a few years now. I own a black dial Tonda Metrographe (the green dial is special), and I've had my eye out for the Tonda 1950 and the Qualite Fleurier Tonda.
After Lyrique, PF may be my favorite watchmaker.
Best regards, Brian
Hello Neighbor,
By far one of the most underrated watch brands… We will see what future holds since there are rumors about selling the brand. In person those watches are stunning…
Hey Aleksandar! Having some great weather finally! Check out thewatchoutlet dot com for some very affordable PF watches. Take care, Bill
I looked at the Tonda and thought it was undervalued from the start. Excellent selection here. I will try to acquire one in time. Great video as always Bill.
I'm generally not interested in logo design as much, but out of all brands, that Pf logo has got to be my favorite.
Hi Bill, your collection review #100, the "Practical Pilot" here. First, a great video on PF, the brand you recommended to me years ago when you reviewed my collection. While I didn't get the Kalpa as you suggested versus my Reverso, I did gain an appreciation for PF and purchased a white gold Tonda 1950 as my last watch four years ago. A NOS watch, full set complete with factory warranty for $5,500 from the vendor you mention in Florida.
FWIW, I still want a PP 5124G-001, white gold with the salmon dial as it too is a watch we both love.
Another Brand ....Piaget Polo.....love it and reasonable for todays prices. Thx Bill Great content....................................btw Parmigiani is up for sale currently for $60,000,000. So maybe Richmond will buy them
Only 60M? I'd rather seem them got to LVMH ... anyone but Swatch! Take care, Tim.
Hi Bill, I bought the PF Tonda Metrographe green dial, huge discount with brand new seal!
I thought Thewatchoutlet still have many stocks in their warehouse...
Pershings on a steel bracelet… super underrated sports watch
Yes, indeed, and well priced below MSRP-I've been telling people that for years Boris. Take care, Bill
Hi Bill, in my opinion the new product line of Parmigiani has become a little bit mainstream in design. Good looking but a little bit boring, especially the Chronograph. So the older one's have that unique design and for that price you cant go wrong.😀😀
Fleurier is in the Neuchâtel Canton
Beautiful watches that were let down by terrible product imagery (not the only one...). Many of the older Parmigianis looked big and bulbous in the pictures, but sleek in the metal. Unfortunately, many people never bothered to seek out a PF AD and try them... So they never experienced the superb finishing and extraordinary comfort. The new models are great too, but for me have lost a little individuality. That said, one of my favourite brands; I'd stump up for the new Toric if I could - I think it's fair value.
Bill, where can I purchase the pre -owned Parmigiani. Loved the brand for many years and agree with your assesment on one of the most undervalued watches in the industry. I can’t afford the new prices.
Rollo, go to thewatchoutlet dot com. Take care, Bill
Rollo, I purchased my white Gold Tonda 1950 from them in 2021 for $5,500 through eBay on a special that they offered to me. I went there on Bill's recommendation. Great folks to deal with, and while the same watch is now $8,950, it's still a fantastic dress watch,
provocative question: if super clones are so good- isnt that the watch one get most for the money?
tonda gmt is outstanding
It's my goto travel watch, D. Take care, Bill
