I have seen a couple of videos where a single assassin bug Killed the mantises. The respective sizes were close to these in this video. When I decided to watch this one, I was pretty sure the mantis would be killed, having to face 3 venomous and fierce assassin bugs. This mantis was skilled, but it was also, a bit lucky that the other two assassins didn't even try to attack it from behind. The mantis's abdomen is its softest body part, and it was just there for the biting, while it was eating the first assassin.
I ever thought that praying mantis are the smartest and most intelligent of all the insects. Bees, ants and termites are very organized but in a rigid, repetitive and robotic way. I tried to look in the comment section for anyone who was saying the same thing I was about to say, but, putting bugs up for “battle” like this is terrible. Forcing them to kill each other, by gathering insects for content, instead of the environment, is awful. It’s not cool to portray insects & bugs this way as a toy to watch & fight with.
That mantis had help when it was on its back. Had dude not helped it get upright, the assassin would have had it's chance so that wasn't a fair battle smh
True, but was it fair that an energized, reserved assassin get to finish off a tired mantis who already had to fight and kill 2 prior assassins while simultaneously being attacked by all 3 throughout the ordeal? If he was lacking and needed a bit of help I think it's fair. What wasn't fair was fight 3 assassins bugs.
