8 Year Old Gorilla Is Never Too Old To Get A Slap From Mum

- Gorilla Lope, the western lowland gorilla from the Twycross Zoo is annoying his mum again.
In the first clip from earlier in the year, he looks like he might be holding open the door for mum, but no, he decides to run and slide down the hill instead.
He then sits on the grass, drumming on his chest. The rest of the clips are from this month. Lope does one of his usual things hits something a charges/runs. This time to annoy Ozala again. Then he hits the hut and sits down. He walks down the slope, then starts to run towards his mother slapping her.
He continues to annoy his mum by staring at her and having a little charge past her.
Ozala sits down and has something to eat and gives Lope the evil eye to the side. Lope starts staring again, Ozala seems to ignore him, but when Lope makes another move she has enough and leaps at him and gives him a whack. Lope disappears around the hut, but has one more charge past his mum.
They walk off, Shufai on the left minding his own business.

The gorilla current family at Twycross consists of 6 members, which are Oumbi, Ozala, Biddy, Asante, Lope and Shufai
Oumbi ( 30 June 1992) Sons : Okanda 17 Apr 2011 born at Twycross Zoo, Hand raised and now at München Hellabrunn Germany.
Lope ( 3rd Jan 2013) and Shufai (24th Sep 2016) were both born at Twycross Zoo in England and they are still at the Zoo.
Ozala (19 Mar 1994), she had four sons and one daughter. Ozala's first mate was Ti. Ozala and Ti had Matadi on the 25th of May 2003 at Twycross Zoo. Then they had their daughter Ndoki on the 3rd of May 2007, but she sadly died on the 29th Aug 2007, unknown cause.
Matadi is at the Antwerp Zoo in Belgium with his mate Mayani and they had a baby girl called Thandie. ( Don't miss the footage from Antwerp on this channel at: • Antwerpen Zoo Gorillas )
Matadi had another baby girl in June 2020 this time with Mambele and she's called Vizazi.
Ti died in 26 Feb 2007, the cause of it was a stroke. Oumbi got moved to Twycross Zoo in 2009 to mate with the females. Ozala was Oumbi chosen mate.
Asante (6th Jun 1985) is Ozalas half-sister. She hasn’t got any offspring.
Biddy is Ozalas's Mum as she was born in the wild in 1973, there is no record of siblings or parents. Her offspring are Mambie and Ozala. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини

Gentaro does the same thing with his mom. It makes me wonder if it's less a personality thing and more about learning to be a silverback. As that is kinda how silverbacks treat their mates. Not mean but with that displaying and running alongside them, looking away from them pretending they aren't trying to get a rise out of them.
omg, i havn't watch this channel for about 3 years, and Lope is no longer a baby anymore, he looks almost like a silver back himself, damnnn..I think Goriilas age is like 2 times for human, like if he is 8 ys now is like he were 16 years old human. he is almost a grown man.

UA-cam unsubbed me , I was wondering why I wasn't seeing my favorite gorilla family in the world. And again today after resubbing , they have unsubbed me again from SloggerVlogger. UA-cam , you can take away a lot of video's I watch, but I draw the line when you take away my Lope. I am furious with UA-cam for this SloggerVlogger and I wanted to bring this to your attention. Oh yes! How TERRIBLE that they're not exposed to all the wonderful aspects of living wild!! Predatory leopards, malaria, poachers rifles, uncertain food sources, intestinal parasites, malnutrition, venomous gaboon vipers, inclement weather, deforestation, wire snares, ever present hunger, competition, the bushmeat trade, SImian Immunodeficiency Virus, . . . . Wild animals don't frolic about thankful for their freedom. They're concerned with the constant aspects of survival. Anthropomorphised; "Can I find enough to eat today? What's that noise?? Is something trying to kill me??!! I'm desperate to find a another of my kind to f**k! I might have to fight to the death for ALL of these things"!!! Captivity has it's perks. Some specie's entire EXISTENCE hinges on it. Save your finger wagging, critical ire for the victims of factory farming, wanton cruelty, malicious maiming, and gleeful, sadistic violence. All of which many individual creatures are subjected to on a daily basis.
